Sounds like you have some vibration going. Prop out of balance maybe??? It has that telltale "gurring sound" A little balance issue will cause cavatation as well. Cool boat, KYOSHO ROCKS!
Got one of these, but it is still stock with a 3s lipo , going alright

The ESC is hexTronik PRO 120A BESC and the batteries is 1.2V 3600Mha=10,8 noname.
