lol i just did this a hour ago and it came right back on lol it really works bcuz mines would not start and its brand new only 9 months old it was just dirty and auto shut down love the vid
my fan says nonservicable and is locked in there pretty good.... should I take it out anyway? It stoped working few weeks ago. Dammit. im gonna stop smoking in my room. hope I didnt do permanent damage :(
My mate did that once, and since the fan is spinning clockwise, the plastic bit was spinning so FAST it hit the Vacuums lips thus breaking the fans blades into pieces and one of those pieces went into his eyes and now permanent blindness..definitely a morons way out of cleaning!
@Skilinium did your computer work the same way agian you know when you clean your computer if your going to clean fan hold the fan with something so it would not move cause it goes in a certen speed and you made go too fast and it cause the fan to break or make staick that kills your computer
How the heck is the vacuum building static electricity. More so, even if it does it won't discharge unless you touch a component with it. In addition I have seen fans break from being spun too fast. The motor and bearings are not designed to run at that high a speed.
Usually the high speed the fan runs at partially melts or damages the bearing mount underneath the fan blades causing the fan to develop a wobble, or prematurely fail.
when you apply electricity to a dc motor, it spins (duh), but when you spin the motor shaft, the motor acts as a generator and produces electricity which is flowing through your MB without control. THIS current may damage your computer. The bearings of the fan are also going to be damaged if you do this too often, because when vacuuming they will spin faster as they usually do.
I tried once to clean one of mine blue LED sidepanelfans with the vacuum and when it was spining fast the leds started to shine :P.... so always unplug our fans beforce cleaning with vacuum.
@computec1993 well yesno it could create up 2 ~30 Volts but there are BLDC Motors in ther (BrushLess DC) wich dont work Bi-Directional so, u put Plus to Plus and Minus to minus and it will run, sure it will(except its broken) now if switch anode and kathode, a DC motor will just spin in the opposite direction, a BLDC motor wont do that, it would just do nothing, in this video the air of the cleaner is sucking the fan and its turning wrong way -> No electricy. also tested it with multiple fans
I did the same thing, BUT made sure the blades of the fan moved as little as possible

I did that once and touched one of the vanes and broke one off, some vibration.

If you dont know a way to tell your dad-mother buy you a new computer, then do this to put static electric everywhere and computer will explode..
By the way
DONT DO THIS!!!!

The vacuum is'nt going to hurt it, what will hurt it is letting the fan spin like that while vacuuming out the dust.
LiquidZ2k 3 years ago
Yes the vacuum would hurt it.
Its building up static electric. Which will kill the hole computer.
The fan won't broke just cuz it spins fast.

aa your right.
But if you clean it with the vacuum, the its a very very high chance you might it.
It just have to touch very very light and it will discharge.
Warioren 3 years ago
thats how it works:

@Mikitymike where else could they be connected V__V

To the motherboard dumbass

@computec1993 Isn't there a diod that prevents such things?
northenswede 1 year ago
@northenswede
yup!
they'll only spin in one direction because of the diode.. if you apply reverse voltage to it you get nothing.

Blacktronics 1 year ago
@Warioren Those fans have diodes blocking current from going back into the board but the ball bearings might still break if it spins too fast
