i don't get why this movie is considered a horror movie... sure it has horror elements to it but the whole thing is more of a drama/thriller. a horror movie would focus on how terrifying the kids that are trying to kill them are, this DOES do some of that but it mainly focuses on the emotional side of the whole situation, about how you don't just go kill someone and think "well, onto the next one a guess". no, something like that stays with you, and that's exactly what this movie focuses on.
You make a good point, when I was 12 I used to do suplexes and tombstones on my friends just playing and in reality I could have broken their necks if something went wrong. The 12 year old kids in this film are not like normal 12 year old kids. They all know what they are doing and it is Evil that drives them. The 'James Bulger' killers were young when they did what they did but they should have had the electric chair not given new identities.

Infact there are a few scenes that make this film a pile of shit, like when the girl climbs on top of hte shack and noone hears it ? or when she is hidden in a dumpester and she doesnt make any echo ? or perharps when she is holding her almost daed boyfriend below the shack ? this movie has too much hype for what it deserves.

The first thing I did after watching Eden Lake, was to see if there was gonna be an Eden Lake 2. Still, the movie is great and has an ending probably different from any other horror movie you've ever seen.

The ending is not "bad" in a film sense. Its actually the perfect ending considering its a horror movie. There are no "goodies" and "baddies" just a really horrible,messy,pointless tragedy that in todays England is all too believable.

I though the kids were going to get punished by the parents for what they did. Instead the parents condoned what the kids and further pushed the envelope by killing the woman, even after her boyfriend was killed and burned to death. They remind me of the manson family or worse. Only time, god, or the authorities will snuff these people out. Whoever made this film is sick, and used the motif of the british backwater as a horror film. The kids has coming anyway.

The ending of this movie was pretty frustrating, however Jenny dying was sort of her salvation because it prevented her from living with the pain and hurt that these kids brought to her and her boyfriend..on the otherhand the person that will live with the pain that caused his friends to die at his hands is Brett... All he will be is a boy with no friends and a dad who treats him like s@#t

The ending is not "bad" in a film sense. Its actually the perfect ending considering its a horror movie. There are no "goodies" and "baddies" just a really horrible,messy,pointless tragedy that in todays England is all too believable.

I I still can not get over the ending of this movie. Hopefully they will make a sequel and the little ugly ass retarded snot nosed bastards will get there just fucking desserts. Especially the one who repeatedly stabbed the looker with a box cutter repeatedly. It sickened me to my stomach seeing that teenagers like him relish hurting people. Ugly fuck face.

I agree with the people who sad that they are ugly that is why they picked on the attractive couple. They most likely were jealous. I am of african descent and boy oh boy that black British boy was ugly as shit. It would be a miracle if he ever got another role with a jacked up mug like that. All I can is that cinema has gone down this is the most unattractive group of teenagers I have ever seen in a horror flick. And hell the ending was entirely fucked up. I would have killed all of them.

Just saw this movie for the first time Yesterday &.....Wow,I haven't been this shit scared since I saw The Descent,I LOVED it,it didn't have those typical american endings,where Jenny would have escaped & called the police,it had an ending thats believable & effective. Best film,ever
