I have a very simple yet really difficult problem. I have to oxidize a 1 alcohol with PCC/ CH2Cl2, part of question is "what the product is " (I know my product is going to be an aldehyde) but I'm being asked also "what the intermediary is", how exactly does PCC oxidized the alcohol, as in what attacks what to end up with an aldehyde?

Your 8 minutes video save me 3 hrs of reading my books. I'll make a donation as soon as I finish my Ochem final.

So, if you had potassium dichromate in the dichloromethane solvent you would only oxidize once?
