  • Too bad Federal doesn't still make these. These beat the pants off the electronic "fake" Q's our EMS uses.

  • how much does this go for?

  • RIP Lt. Bobby "Big Mama" King 5/7/72-5/4/11

You were brother, my best friend, and hero. The world was truly a better place because you were here!

  • The Model 28 was rather a small siren but pretty hefty, it was the mainstay of the FDNY, NYPD unmarked cars and NYCTPD, not sure what the Housing or Port Authority Depts used. They are very loud for there size and you could feel the vibration inside the passenger compartment.

The marked cars of the NYPD during the 70s had a P660 mounted on the roof, like to see those make a come back, when they were maintained and worked properly, they had an echo effect.

  • @shadowwatcher42d My dad was with SFPD from 1964-1976 and at that time most of the cars had CAM sirens under the hood . There were some that did have Model 28's but when put against each other , the CAMs won because they were louder .

  • The looks on this video are rather deceiving, the 28 siren was a pretty hefty unit, they were standard on NYPD unmarked and NYCTPD cars, not really sure what the Housing or Port Authority Depts had. They are an extremely loud siren. I know, because that was the siren in my father's unmarked unit.

I'd like the see the NYPD go back to the P660 Siren, when the 660 was maintained and worked correctly, you did know where the RMP was coming from , major echo effect :)

  • louder then heck keep up the good work

  • ok, if i can im gonna make a vid of our rescue, nice sound

  • This siren is the standard of the industry. Used alot in the NY area back in the 50's, 60's and 70's especially on FDNY vehicles and undercover NYPD vehicles.
