holy moly.........now this is a real fighter......this woman has the right attitude to life.....and has my respect .......wow if i lost a leg i think i would have just curled up into a ball of self pity
Bel exemple de courage quand même mais cette fille est définitivement trop désavantagée car elle n'a qu'une jambe. Son adversaire peut l'attaquer du côté où elle n'a pas de jambes sans trop de problèmes.
lol it took 6 minutes to beat her. Meanwhile a lot of fully able people are beaten in less than one. You seriously think shes never subbed someone before? haha
i wondered whether having one arm would be a more or less severe disability for bjj? it's not that obvious at first, since most action happens on the ground. but finally i decided it would be easier still. you could at least close your guard and try getting a triangle. another interesting thing is the weight category, reportedly human leg = ~1/7 body weight, so someone who's "normally" 70kg (with adequate body size, muscle strength, arms) but one-legged, would be fighting against 60kgs fighters
Courage, determination, heart. All present. However, none of these things are enough to win the match. I won't deny that she did a spectacular job given her situation. But, come on people, seriously. Losing is losing. Do not lose sight of the big picture by irrelevant things that make you feel warm and tingley. This is the reason why mankind is failing on a global level. Wanting to progress, and actually progressing, are two completely different things.
yeah well noone denies she lost, but so what - losses are usually 50% of all results in every grappling competition ;) it's not like she went down without putting up a fight, either.
The fact that she lost isn't the point of the video, my friend. It's the fighting spirit that she has to continue to train and compete despite her very serious handicap. And by the way, why don't you try explaining just how a fighting spirit " is irrelevant " and just makes us " feel all warm and tingley." How could you be a winner anyway without a fighting spirit ?
I wasnt commenting on the point of the video. I was commenting on the point of competing in something that you do not have the ability to win. And as to the second part of your comment.. Well, just watch the video. Are you suggesting that the other person was victorious because they had a greater fighting spirit? No, they had greater ability. Did you really need that explained?
@gongargongar I know that this is an old comment but her disability makes her hard to deal with which is an advantage not a disadvantage. She definitely has the ability to perform submissions so she can win she just didn't this time. This woman might not win every match but if she masters that spider guard of hers she can most definitely force a draw.
Hey sense of touch! You seem like a real douchebag. Judging by your youtube page your the 1 with the disability.(and a fat child molesting uncle). The girl in the vid is an inspiration to all BJJ Players
When you see a lady or man with 1 leg competing at any athletic event you should be proud of them. You should also encourage and compliment them. You should not feel sorry for them but you should thank GOD for your own health and blessings.
Thank God? You make me laugh. You humans will never make any progress if you guys do not let go of such fantasies. God will not save you guys when we invade your planet.
Not to digress from how amazing this is, but how would you score a guard pass in this match? Unless she passes to the leg side, like in the description, how would you score it? I bet they don't go over that in the officials' meeting.
I am going to stay neutral in your war with 5ag5 because I can understand both of your opinions. But I give the guy who sdays WOW! Imagine the guts that takes a thumbs up.
I've been considering competing for the last year, but made a bunch of the usual excuses. Now I have no excuse. This woman is AMAZING!!! I didn't even care that she tapped. She won the match in my eyes. (I feel sorry for her opponent- a no win situation for her!) Jiujitsu is hard enough with ALL your limbs. The fact she has more gumption than 99% of the world should be motivating for all.
Yeah I'm sure she's gonna tap a lot of people especially when she gets to the blue belt level. She'll probably develop a game of her own catered to her physical attributes.
This is a great video. Sure, the Machado's and the Gracies can all teach us something. But I think this little woman speaks the loudest by simply hopping onto the competition mat. Puts all the rest of us in our places...

I wonder how she would get points for taking the back of her opponent? She can't put both hooks in because she doesn't have a second leg to hook with.

Amazing. I imagine how I'd adjust my game if I had a physical disability. You think she'd be more successful with an aikido like approach to her BJJ?
It blows my mind just thinking about what her style would look like once she become more advanced.
