Great video I love the Breath of fire games,and Tiamat,and Kaiser are my favorite form's,it's a shame you can't stay transformed into the actual Kaiser for a little while,to bad it's just a summon you know.The highlight of this game is all the amazing transformation's,in BOF4 everything's a summon,I found that quite a bit weak.Although BOF4's still a very cool game.:D
@yuran1500 All the Fusion gene forms depend on your other party members.
The "Knight" fusion form you seem to be referring to requires your party to be either Momo & Nina or Momo & Peco. It'll be powered up if you also use the ??? Gene.
The bird-like fusion form requires Nina & Garr or Nina & Peco. Power up: Eldritch Gene.
Tiger form requires either Rei & Momo or Rei & Nina. Power up: Force Gene.
Onion form requires either Peco & Garr or Peco & Rei. Power up: Shadow Gene.
Ahh, the memories of transforming into Wildfire for the first time and trying to use the normal attack as it to recover an ally from confused status.. xD
Force is the only gene you need to have, for mega bosses, and all regular bosses that's it. Focus + aura, repeat. Done with a few war shouts from someone else as they use tripple attack and the other uses shadowwalk, and you're good trust me. It's that easy
Hybrid( or better known as Momodragon) might not be the strongest, but it has one of the coolest looking attacks. What it does is it shoots a missile in the air and it lands right around the enemies and gets stuck in the ground and then about a few seconds later....Booooooooooooom. lol It's funny because the game makes you think it's a dud when it hits the ground. I forget what the attack is called though.
@Perkyguy It definitely would've been cool to see stay in the actual Kaiser form, instead of just transforming/summoning it for the breath attack. It'd just be like the Behemoth or Tiamat transforms; your other two members are removed while it's active.
@Deathbringer99699 there are 2 main things. 1 is if you use the radiance gene, you can control it, and use 'kaiser breath' to attack all enemies for decent damage, but overall you are weaker. 2. if you don't use the radiance gene, you have no control (unless you have a faster character like rei use 'influence') but you have a massive boost in strength. if you use the infinity+defender+reverse+ genes then you have god-like power. literally 3000+damage with every swing just being like level 40.
Yeah, Tiamat is wicked. He's also immune to many of Myria's tricks, if you find her casting Death on you a lot near the end of the fight.
As for a party, I usually ended up with Rei and Momo. Weretiger is always fun when you have Influence, and Momo offers support for both offense and defense. Peco is definitely a fun alternative choice though, and very flexible thanks to the master system. As someone else mentioned, I usually put him with Meryleep at some point for her skills.
This Video reminded me of the Like, 5 Years it took me to beat this game. I FINALLY beat it b4 leaving JR HS. Man, the one i REALLY wanted to transform to was The Last one. I did, but never did the Kaiser Breath.
I had to pause at the end of every transformation cause it went away too fast to see any details of the forms you turn into. Should have let them stay in view for a while I think.
if you put deis as a master for peco at level 1 then train him to 16 then go to mygas train till 24 then go to emmit or what ever hes called peco can become a wicked magic caster
Dragon hybrid forms also have super forms. (super form = mammoth an crap) they could take a bit to find out but i know 2 of em: Peco's Super hybrid form: Fusion+Shadow
Rei's Super Hybrid Form: Fusion + Force
Pecos super form turns gold, recovers HP at the same rate as Peco, with Geo Breath turning into Gae'as breath and Rei's turns gold with red wing-things. Higher attack power, and Tempest becomes Hurricane. (still wussy though :\)
Kaiser also has a super form. The Infinity+trance+radiance is super, Infinity is normal (goes berserk and you do NOT want that) and then infinity+failure is normal controlled
Also, most people would choose Mammoth or Kaiser (controlled, not super) for this, but a better choice on my opinion for bosses is Tiamat. High reprisal rate, pretty good damage, good HP and combines the party. also, cheap AP. the other 2 i find are a bit on the expensive side AP wise.
the hbyrid you have 2 choices. the normal one i dont exactly know, i use Peco and Rei as my other teammates, so idk exactly, but its i THINK Fusion with momo in your party, with Garr, Nina, or one other whos name escapes me at the moment.
the second is the Super Momo Hybrid. same character combo as before, but with an extra gene.. i think its the ??? gene. it looks different from the normal fusion so ull know if u did it.
best combination of chars for me is rei, ryu, and garr...
Garr is jus ultra strong if u build him right but very slow...
Rei is super fast and in were form is freskn even faster and stronger but either equip light bangle, balance ring, or learn influence to keep him from going berserk...

Him learning Rejuvenate or Purify isn't necessarily a plus. He just doesn't have the INT to make any use out of Rejuvenate, and you're better off using a Vitamin. Save his AP for Fire and Ice Breath, which are powerful and utilize his monstrous HP. XP
What I like most about Peco is his ridiculous reprisal rate. He counters 50% of all attacks and restores 1/20 of his HP each turn. :D
He may not be a standard tank like Garr but with his tweaks I'd say he's better.
I train Peco with Bunyan from level 1 until I can get him with Meryleep, simply so I can get him War Shout, then back to Bunyan he goes. By the time I get to Myria he has 400+ HP and matches Ryu for Power and Defense. Peco OWNS.
I always liked putting peco with ladon, and then level up in the old ship stealing from reapers to get magic shards and in the area near the dauna mine to get life shards from goo titans. It was always much easier to amass life and magic shards than the other stats (except maybe pwr food from hobgoblins). That way you gain all the stat ups in your basic stats, and then customize your hp/ap according to your needs (go with big hp since peco regenerates every turn). Either way, Peco is Badass!
Oh, and don't forget the gift shop in the faerie village. Once you have all the Ivory charms/spirit rings you need from the exploration job set, put most of them as gift shop, save before you enter, and wait until all the gift shops give you the appropriate stat up item (in large quantities if you're using all 20 faeries as gift shop opperators. Best way to get fish heads and swallow eyes without much effort.

i love this game expecially coz i love dragons but they fucked the story up alot at the end, is myria Tyr from BoF1? why is she good here? since when the fuck is she sisters with Deis/Bleu??? that means Deis helped Ryu and nina and Bo and all them jump her sister! lmao but the ending to this could have been soooo much better instead of just looking at the desert wit peco at the end, its ok but thats it?oh and how come they show them in better grafix at the end? do dat for da battles!
I read down there you need to be a high lvl to kill a arcmage well thats not true. Have Ryu at lvl 45 to 50 and have him equiped with a thunder ring and a soul gem. Turn into the Thunder and Force gene. Makes you the Thunder warrior. And use focus like 2 or there times and hit him with aura. no strategy needed. But make sure you have plenty of Soul gems. I just started playing again recently and lvling up my chars and highest lvl char i have is lvl 84.
Man this game pissed me off! I still can't believe you have to go thru all that crap to get to the other side of the desert just because you can't jump down 3 feet! I was so mad when I realized that because the desert is a DIRTY WHORE! Plus there's all the other crap that's a complete waste of time just to get there! In fact most of the game's a waste of time. All you're doing is wondering around until you find your destiny...AT THE END OF THE GAME! That part & the beginning were the best parts.
1) You DO NOT fight to save the world (a change in the universal plot - thanks!). In fact, the world is doing very well and no evil empire/wizard/demon wants to destroy it.
2) The last boss IS NOT evil - Mirya is a over-protective mother, but no way she is evil - all she wants is to protect her children, even if she needs to resort to harsh means.
But, yeah, the Container Yard thing is just stupid.
Yeah, those things are pretty different from the standard RPG plotlines, I'll give it that. I didn't COMPLETELY hate the game but man did it wear heavy on me all too often.
That three foot jump thing still makes me mad. Oh well, its in the past now I guess. No sense in moaning about it.
myrmidon is the best dragon ever. i've done this game at 100% with all weapons and characters at lvl 99 causing my personal record damage of 5600 with a super combo. if someone knows a different way to deal higher damage plz tell me.
it's not so difficult to get lvl 99. from lvl 50 you need always 65000 exp points to increase your level.
you should copy many ivory dices in the faeries world. then fight arch mages and berserkers using monopolize and 2 ivory dice. every fight you win this way you rise 1 level in 1 char.
i've done that damage using celerity, focus and supercombo on an eye goo.
you dont gain a level per 65.000 exp. Also if you leveled that way due to archmages and berserkers then I really pity you.... and 5600dmg on a pitiful eye goo????
Here's a strategy... go to the volcano area.. use a fire skill on the lavamen. Everytime you do that their power and exp doubles. its a LOAD easier to get the max exp, without the ivory dice use.

now the following depends on what you believe looks best..
either - Bonebreak (if available)
Shadowwalk
Aura
OR...if you are very good... Supercombo. If you land anything above an 8 hit you should do ungodly damage. Keep in mind last resort MUST be done BEFORE focus. And kaiser form MUST be in order since that form alone doubles ryu's damage.
Anything with a holy weakness takes like, what? 4x damage?
And yes, you can kill archmages in a single hit, but you already need a high level for that, plus you need to be prepared with enemy skills and own skills, whereass with lavamen, all you need is stuff to absorb fire, and a decent strategy ;)
isn't it better to use last resort and focus before getting transformed? anyway i think your pwr reaches 999 limit just with the dragon form. well i have almost 700 of pwr without dragon form and kaiser dragon doubles it,or at least i think so.
no, because if you use last resort before transforming, I believe the transformation cancels it out. I am not sure on that one though, but using last resort while in kaiser form would help just as well... maybe better since your defence gets transformed into attack, and the kaiser form has a higher defence.
Can somebody help me. Please tell me if how many skills can i learn in this game. I have these skills Frost,Burn,Jump,Meditation,Influence,Feign swing,Trump,Double blow. Also who's the best masters that I can train for Garr, Peco, Momo, Nina and Ryu??????
err, try gamefaqs...there's way to many skills to mention here. For Garr I always used Fahl or D'lonzo (D'lonzo increases his agility but also his dodge, critical hit, and reprisal). Peco.. anyone depending on what you want. Momo-nina, Emitai. Rei, D'lonzo as well, or Meryleep. Ryu, I suggest first Giotto, then when you have plenty of hp-ap, ladon for the remainder of the game.
You should'nt put Nina with Emitai, that makes her a glass cannon (-2 HP, -2 DEF). I would recomend Fahl; -3 INT seems harsh, but she gains a crapload of HP and DEF (and she gains a lot onf INT anyway). Of course, it's not a definite Master; 20-25 levels are enough). Momo is OK, since she gains more HP and DEF than Nina.
Ah, a glass cannon indeed... but if you put her with Emitai FIRST, use my lava-man leveling trick, and give her a couple of levels, you can put her with meryleep later on for a +2 to speed. Once she gets that, teach her resist and mind sword ;)... resist for her normal turn (which she will always start if done correctly). Nothing can kill her then except instant-death attacks I think. Then use her EX turn for mind sword ;). trust me on it.
Theres no point in trying to improve upon the stats that she is no good in. Ryu is the only character meant to be "well-rounded" Emitai is perfect for her as well as meryleep its always best to improve upon the stats characters are naturally high in.
p.s. lava man leveling is the shizzle, soul gems and rings of fire baby! Allll Day!
Got this on both ps1 and psp, awesome game. Favourite dragon is Tiamat, dead powerful, strong defense and immune to status, almost no boss can hurt it

It depends on your party members.
Rei + Momo or Nina = Tiger Dragon
Momo + Nina or Peco = Knight Dragon
Nina + Garr or Peco = Avian Dragon
Peco + Garr or Rei = Onion Dragon
Any other combination of party members will result in a whelp.
And yeah Garr has no hybrid form.

I would always use Myrmidon's Aura Smash...it was always the strongest attack in the game for me. It did over 1k damage to Myria each time.

The other two fusion forms are gotten by...
Nina's Avian = Fusion + Eldritch
The avian turns blue and you get Sirocco and Myollnir and
Momo's Knight = Fusion + ???
The knight is gold in color and gains Vitalize and Ragnarok.
And I wouldn't say Rei's Tiger is 'wussy;' if you were smart you'd use it for its Speed and Shadow Walk ability.
I prefer Wildfire or Myrmidon to anything. Myrmidon is strong and pretty cheap and Wildfire has wacky physics but in a very good way.

Garr is jus ultra strong if u build him right but very slow...
Rei is super fast and in were form is freskn even faster and stronger but either equip light bangle, balance ring, or learn influence to keep him from going berserk...
and ryu i used warrior form...

Him learning Rejuvenate or Purify isn't necessarily a plus. He just doesn't have the INT to make any use out of Rejuvenate, and you're better off using a Vitamin. Save his AP for Fire and Ice Breath, which are powerful and utilize his monstrous HP. XP
What I like most about Peco is his ridiculous reprisal rate. He counters 50% of all attacks and restores 1/20 of his HP each turn. :D
He may not be a standard tank like Garr but with his tweaks I'd say he's better.

I train Peco with Bunyan from level 1 until I can get him with Meryleep, simply so I can get him War Shout, then back to Bunyan he goes. By the time I get to Myria he has 400+ HP and matches Ryu for Power and Defense. Peco OWNS.

I always liked putting peco with ladon, and then level up in the old ship stealing from reapers to get magic shards and in the area near the dauna mine to get life shards from goo titans. It was always much easier to amass life and magic shards than the other stats (except maybe pwr food from hobgoblins). That way you gain all the stat ups in your basic stats, and then customize your hp/ap according to your needs (go with big hp since peco regenerates every turn). Either way, Peco is Badass!

Oh, and don't forget the gift shop in the faerie village. Once you have all the Ivory charms/spirit rings you need from the exploration job set, put most of them as gift shop, save before you enter, and wait until all the gift shops give you the appropriate stat up item (in large quantities if you're using all 20 faeries as gift shop opperators. Best way to get fish heads and swallow eyes without much effort.

Yeah, they ported the game to PSP. Only in Europe and Japan though. So the only way to get it is either import it, or get it through other means.

i love this game expecially coz i love dragons but they fucked the story up alot at the end, is myria Tyr from BoF1? why is she good here? since when the fuck is she sisters with Deis/Bleu??? that means Deis helped Ryu and nina and Bo and all them jump her sister! lmao but the ending to this could have been soooo much better instead of just looking at the desert wit peco at the end, its ok but thats it?oh and how come they show them in better grafix at the end? do dat for da battles!

I read down there you need to be a high lvl to kill a arcmage well thats not true. Have Ryu at lvl 45 to 50 and have him equiped with a thunder ring and a soul gem. Turn into the Thunder and Force gene. Makes you the Thunder warrior. And use focus like 2 or there times and hit him with aura. no strategy needed. But make sure you have plenty of Soul gems. I just started playing again recently and lvling up my chars and highest lvl char i have is lvl 84.

Man this game pissed me off! I still can't believe you have to go thru all that crap to get to the other side of the desert just because you can't jump down 3 feet! I was so mad when I realized that because the desert is a DIRTY WHORE! Plus there's all the other crap that's a complete waste of time just to get there! In fact most of the game's a waste of time. All you're doing is wondering around until you find your destiny...AT THE END OF THE GAME! That part & the beginning were the best parts.

Two things GREAT about this game:
1) You DO NOT fight to save the world (a change in the universal plot - thanks!). In fact, the world is doing very well and no evil empire/wizard/demon wants to destroy it.
2) The last boss IS NOT evil - Mirya is a over-protective mother, but no way she is evil - all she wants is to protect her children, even if she needs to resort to harsh means.
But, yeah, the Container Yard thing is just stupid.

Yeah, those things are pretty different from the standard RPG plotlines, I'll give it that. I didn't COMPLETELY hate the game but man did it wear heavy on me all too often.
That three foot jump thing still makes me mad. Oh well, its in the past now I guess. No sense in moaning about it.

does last resort exchange your pwr with defense?
if its so it's not a good thing because my pwr is almost 2 times my def.. otherwise if def is added to pwr it's definetly better.

To be accurate, your DEF is added to your STR, it should be used as a Last Resort, hence the name.
Not good to use again Teepo or Myria.

myrmidon is the best dragon ever. i've done this game at 100% with all weapons and characters at lvl 99 causing my personal record damage of 5600 with a super combo. if someone knows a different way to deal higher damage plz tell me.

it's not so difficult to get lvl 99. from lvl 50 you need always 65000 exp points to increase your level.
you should copy many ivory dices in the faeries world. then fight arch mages and berserkers using monopolize and 2 ivory dice. every fight you win this way you rise 1 level in 1 char.
i've done that damage using celerity, focus and supercombo on an eye goo.

you dont gain a level per 65.000 exp. Also if you leveled that way due to archmages and berserkers then I really pity you.... and 5600dmg on a pitiful eye goo????
Here's a strategy... go to the volcano area.. use a fire skill on the lavamen. Everytime you do that their power and exp doubles. its a LOAD easier to get the max exp, without the ivory dice use.

Ultimate kaiser form (assuming ryu is very strong)
Last resort
Focus
Focus
now the following depends on what you believe looks best..
either - Bonebreak (if available)
Shadowwalk
Aura
OR...if you are very good... Supercombo. If you land anything above an 8 hit you should do ungodly damage. Keep in mind last resort MUST be done BEFORE focus. And kaiser form MUST be in order since that form alone doubles ryu's damage.

ok i played bof3 today.. i've done 9999 damage on a revenant with rei.
i used:
3 holy avenger
focus x2
war shout
aura.
but they're weak against holy. it's easy this way.
i'll try to deal that damage on a different enemy.
(to michelrpg) i tried to level against lavamen but i think it's quite faster to kill archmages. i kill them in 1 or 2 hits.

Problems with that:
Archmages are rare
Ivory dice take forever to be copied properly
Anything with a holy weakness takes like, what? 4x damage?
And yes, you can kill archmages in a single hit, but you already need a high level for that, plus you need to be prepared with enemy skills and own skills, whereass with lavamen, all you need is stuff to absorb fire, and a decent strategy ;)

isn't it better to use last resort and focus before getting transformed? anyway i think your pwr reaches 999 limit just with the dragon form. well i have almost 700 of pwr without dragon form and kaiser dragon doubles it,or at least i think so.

no, because if you use last resort before transforming, I believe the transformation cancels it out. I am not sure on that one though, but using last resort while in kaiser form would help just as well... maybe better since your defence gets transformed into attack, and the kaiser form has a higher defence.

err, try gamefaqs...there's way to many skills to mention here. For Garr I always used Fahl or D'lonzo (D'lonzo increases his agility but also his dodge, critical hit, and reprisal). Peco.. anyone depending on what you want. Momo-nina, Emitai. Rei, D'lonzo as well, or Meryleep. Ryu, I suggest first Giotto, then when you have plenty of hp-ap, ladon for the remainder of the game.

You should'nt put Nina with Emitai, that makes her a glass cannon (-2 HP, -2 DEF). I would recomend Fahl; -3 INT seems harsh, but she gains a crapload of HP and DEF (and she gains a lot onf INT anyway). Of course, it's not a definite Master; 20-25 levels are enough). Momo is OK, since she gains more HP and DEF than Nina.

Ah, a glass cannon indeed... but if you put her with Emitai FIRST, use my lava-man leveling trick, and give her a couple of levels, you can put her with meryleep later on for a +2 to speed. Once she gets that, teach her resist and mind sword ;)... resist for her normal turn (which she will always start if done correctly). Nothing can kill her then except instant-death attacks I think. Then use her EX turn for mind sword ;). trust me on it.

Theres no point in trying to improve upon the stats that she is no good in. Ryu is the only character meant to be "well-rounded" Emitai is perfect for her as well as meryleep its always best to improve upon the stats characters are naturally high in.
p.s. lava man leveling is the shizzle, soul gems and rings of fire baby! Allll Day!

You'd better use the Miracle+Eldritch+Flame or the Thunder or the Frost gene. They are all causing 29 AP. Do you have these Genes???

Got this on both ps1 and psp, awesome game. Favourite dragon is Tiamat, dead powerful, strong defense and immune to status, almost no boss can hurt it
