Just goes to show the casting director on The Avengers knew what was going on. What a classy, talented bunch. Linda Thorson is so underrated - known for being devastatingly sexy, she is also talented and very funny.

This was 2000? Diana Rigg looked fine, as she did in that TV detecive series made about this time, Mrs Bradley Mysteries or something. Joanna Lumley of course just gets better looking, a true beauty, she's very fortunate in her genes. Honor Blackman, too, much older than the others, looks splendid. But what happened to Linda Thorson? She turned into Vanessa Redgrave, the old version, and is totally unrecognisable.

This is in 2000, 10 years ago. Linda looks a fright. Patrick was 78 but looks good for his age. Honor was 73 and it's a good 73. Diana and Joanna look fine.

And all four of them are still attractive. Diana Rigg who was Ema Peel is still very apeeling, Linda Thorsen who was Tara King is still a King of attraction and Joanna Lumley is still a very lumley looking lady. Course when she was in the New Avengers, she looked very Purdy.

Lumley is such a class act. Witty, beautiful and bereft of ego. It's only an opinion so don't get huffy but i thought Rigg was the best Avengers gal but Lumley the most convincing in the fight scenes. You really believed she could kick her assailants to kingdom come. One of the most brilliant episodes of the entire series was in The New Avengers 'Taget' where they fought robots on a training ranch. It was outstanding for the time. As kids at school we were all talking about it.

Joanna Lumley is one of my idols. I love her so much, she's just unceasingly amazing. She looked absolutely gorgeous in that dress and her speech was so cute and she charmed the hell out of the audience. She is such a fantastic, brilliant woman and I look up to her every day.

The ladies quite literally changed the face of tv. Before, female characters were often considered secondary to men. The Avengers blew that idea wide apart. Here was a series where the women were intelligent & independent. Strong and tough, yet feminine and charming. The show was fortunate to have had four remarkable, highly talented actresses (Honor Blackman, Diana Rigg, Linda Thorson & Joanna Lumley) who each made and left their own unique, distinctive imprint on the television landscape.....

Yes, I agree. Although I can't say I'm much of a fan of The New Avengers, Joanna Lumley is a wonderful, talented, and beautiful lady. She was great on the show, excellent in her fight scenes particulary. It's just too bad the concept of a threesome didn't quite gel, plus the fact that it lacked the sparkle of the original series. It was sort of like a flat bottle of champagne.
