  • Hes equal to Chris Isaak

  • One of the best singer in the universe

  • no matter what he sings. He sings better than any living artist today. The man is blessed in infinite talent. To see him live leaves you breathless. saw him 6 times in 2011 and wish I could have seen him more. Simply amazing

  • THIS BAND AMAZING ONE OF THE BEST THERE IS RAUL IN A CLASS BY HIMSELF I HOPE SOME OF THE BIG NAMES HAVE FOUND TIME TO LISTEN TO THIS AMAZING MUSIC. I WONDER WHAT JAGGER OR BOWIE OR SOMEONE LIKE FRANK SINATRA WOULD THINK OF THIS BAND I'VE LISTENED TO MUSIC FOR MOST OF MY 60 YEARS I NO LONGER WATCH TV I LISTEN TO MUSIC BUT THIS THIS IS TRUE TALENT

  • Marty would be proud of this!

  • how often do i watch a raul video and say "i wish i was there for that show" such a master.

  • Thanks to the fox news channel for showing Raul one day. Made me a fan. I love Marty but this is almost as good as it gets

  • @maxpattison1

Same here, I saw him on FOX and now a fan

  • This is an amazing cover.

  • What,,, "Scooterpiepiano" said,,, this guy is a "Natural" talent... What a talent, what a voice, what timing,,,, perfect....

  • 4 people are tone deaf.

  • Been playing this back to back for a fews days now :-).

  • Great cover by the rich , voice of Raul...^/^

  • He reminds me of Roy Orbison so much, especially in the high notes, his voice looks almost exactly like Roy's and I don't mean that he's trying to imitate him. He's just very unique.

  • Wow, what a voice. My husband, Ron Stone (from El Paso) sang this song so beautifully and had the wonderful vibrato like Raul.

  • When you could listen to music without having to take the drugs to enjoy it!

  • This guy is pure talent!

  • Pretty good, but not as good as Marty's.

  • Saw Raul sing a week ago, But cannot agree with Mavericks getting back together. I could be wrong, but he really seemed to enjoy what he is doing now. I didn't sense he had the feeling for the Maverick tunes ( he did three, I think), but he seemed to enjoy more what he was doing with the rest of the show. The show was marvelous. I was lucky enough to be in a place that holds 200 to 250 people ( my best guess). If you get a chance, don't miss him.

  • what a perfect song for him to sing,he did the song justis!

  • @tomsr12 i couldnt agree with you more. I would love to see the Mavericks get back together as well. i remember my parents listening to them when i was little and i showed them their videos the other day online for the first time. Brought back alot of memories

  • Oh how I love this man!!!! He'll be performing within 50 miles of me next Saturday night.....and I don't have the money to go................... :(

  • One of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard!!!!!! =)

  • This rendition of Marty Robbin's classic should prove to anyone, who has any understanding of music, or any vocal/musical training, just how accomplished this artist really is. Spot on performance. Also, pay attention to the inflections that Raul uses. Absolutely a brilliant! Turn down the volume and try to follow his pitch. You will not be able to match it unless you are gifted. Thank the lord for Raul Malo!

  • This is the best version of this song EVER DONE!

  • You call two people standing up a standing ovation?

  • next weekend - he's at Bluesfest Byron Bay Australia ... man I cant wait - awesome voice ...

    paradise - and a pure tenor !!!

    Growl for me Rrrrrrraul

  • Ever heard of The Mavericks? Great albums...

  • This has benn one of the nicest voices i have Ever herd,What a pleasure it is to listen to him..Pure Magick..

  • he is the best kept secret

  • Raul could sing the alphabet and, at a distance, impregnate all women in the room he's so potent.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • This is probably the best Marty cover i ever heard. Sounds a tad like Roy Orbison, but the guitar is has a hard southern Texas and northern Mexico twang. I love this cover.

  • he's an amazing singer truely talented him and the mavericks were twice as good as rascall fags

  • saw mr malo last night in edinburgh he was amazin an to get an extra 30mins of encores was truly fitting for an amazing singer and guitar player now im n even bigger fan come back to scotland soon mr raul malo

  • @robdisc2 Damn! I'm in Glasgow, wish I had known he was playing in Auld Reekie- He's brilliant. he is palyed alot in my dance classes- rumba, waltz, quickstep, slow foxtrot, cha-cha, you nake it he sings it brilliantly. His "El Paso" arrangement here would be great for a Vienna Waltz with my GF.

    How much were the tickets?

  • @Jigaboo123456 I've never paid more than $35 US for any of Raul's tix, and I've been a fan since 1995. Hope you get to see him soon!

  • @mlover588 Thanks-- unfortunately, everything here in the UK is a lot more expensive-- but I reckon his live concerts will be worth it! What the hey, I don't smoke or drink, so it won't hurt to part with a few quid!

  • He has the voice of an angel, Raul can do NO wrong!!!!

  • What a fantastic voice. Raul is a rare gem!

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • will you marry me Raul?

  • Raul Malo!

  • Good job Mr Raul. Mr Marty would have been so proud. Keep his memory alive.

  • Good one Raul. Mr Marty would have been proud. Keep it up. !

  • nothing new to add to a classic except some strong tenor work on w-i-i-iind and some extremely nasty hairplugs

  • @Laughtongang your crazy, this man has a great voice, he did a great job on this song

  • He does sound like Chris Isaak.

  • OK What' s wrong with this picture? This was great. The players were great. Well, where is the awards? Taylor Swift? Cuse me? Are you freakin kidding me> Guess not. She got the award.Pitiful

  • He just played at Blues on the Green here in Austin Tx, Totally blew me and my friends away ! I had one of the best times of my life there and I have been a fan for awhile !!

  • a singer is he.

  • all i can say is felina is very lucky a very very good cover of the classic marty robbins well done raul -------------bill

  • thank God for Raul's voice!!!!!

  • I like Raul's version even better than Marty Robbin's. This guy is great, is he still singing?

  • is there anything he can't sing??? I don't think so. He has a wonderful voice. Why is he not given the recognition he truly deserves???? There are so many talentless idiots that get awards all the time-such as Toby Keith (ugh) and many others in country now days. Raul has the greatest voice to come around in decades yet so many have not heard of him or the Mavericks when they were together. So annoying.

  • @ksuesue67 I agree with you 100%, he is fantastic!

  • this is the best cover of this song. his voice carries the high notes well. I love covers and i can usually find one that is as good or better than the original but not this one. He sings this song better than anyone i can find but still a notch below Marty's This is one of those songs that cannot be covered as good as the original.

  • I heard the tumbleweeds in his voice so I guess he's okay.

  • Its just best not to go to Rosa's Cantina anymore. "Last night a cowboy came in,....)"

and nobody ever saw him again. It would be a very short song these days.

  • what a fabulous voice! and I like his band, too! :-)

  • Very good! But no one can sing it like

    Marty Robbins! He´s the best!

  • Raul is not Malo. But rather Raul is bueno at singing

  • I just keep coming back and watching again and again, just fantastic

  • EXCELLANT !!! been a big fan since the beginnig of his career! I would just like Raul are you you listening? Do more of your cousin's songs ie: Roy Orbisons's music. You can and would do justice to that great performer that the world has lost!! Not that you are second to anyone. ........... you are one amazing artist!

  • Really excellent!

  • what a man...what a voice,,what can I say ?? I love to hear him sing,,,,,..

  • Raul is just good. It is that simpel.

F... the modern rap like 50c and all that crapy gang music.

  • I wish they'd put out a new album. Their music got me through some tough times.

  • I am a life long fan of Marty and Im sure Marty would approve of Rauls beautifull interpitation of El Paso.

Raul does lovely versions of the Big O songs as well.

  • Raul sure can sing....awesome.

  • One of the best voices in all of music.

  • Marty would be proud!

  • Heard Raul on Prairie Home Companion last weekend singing operatic tenor. Just an amazing talent!

  • No, the operatic tenor was Raul MELO, a totally different singer!

  • LOL!! Hilarious! Garrison's accent is a bit confusing to me at times.... That guy's great and I was totally convinced it was Raul MALO..alas the foibles of radio.

  • Great cover of a great song

  • Fabulous version!!!!

  • Raul is the best!!!!!!!

  • sexy man, sexy voice

  • I'm going to see Raul Malo at the Sage in Newcastle upon Tyne next week

  • @Gapples007 I am so envious

  • 2 days to go now, should be a gud un lol

  • how cool it that

  • I was recentle looking for the Mavericks on youtube. And when i found them i found Raoul Malo. I think he's absolutele wonderful. he has a great voice and looks very charming!!, I didn´t know him before some weeks, and now i am glad i do!!!

  • GREAT rendition of a GREAT song!

  • Absolutely magnificent. What a voice!

  • I totally agree. He can sing songs by the greatest singers of all time: Presley, Orbison, Robbins, Sinatra, Dino, Eddy Arnold, Jim Reeves and totally sing versions as well as the orginals while not copying them, sounds totally like himself - yet captures what was great about the original version and never changes the song so much that it loses the classic sound and orignal spirit. I don't know of another artist around today that can do that. He's equally as good as any of the best of all time

  • @jdmyerscountry You forgot Chris Isaak! They sound almost identical!

  • @jdmyerscountry Well said.

  • Ya know what's cool? He does not try to imitate other singers, yet at the same time, NO ONE sounds like Raul! He's an awesome legend in his own time.

  • Fantastic voice, gorgeous version of a great old song. Only thing lacking is the Tex-Mex brass, but so much else added it's impossible to quibble. If he added the brass I'd never listen to another version!

  • in my opinion best voice next to chris isaak.

  • Simply amazing performance. Mesmerizing talent.

  • Awesome version!

  • I think he has got the best voice I have ever heard. I could listen to him all day.

  • Raul can sing for me...ANYTIME! Wow, so handsome and talented all wrapped up in one beautiful man.

  • great!!!

  • very good love the ong anyway and raul doesnt dissappiont what a voice keep up the good work old son

  • outstanding, what a voice...thanks.

  • Great!!! Haven't heard a better since Marty!!

  • Fantastico!

  • Just got turned on to the magic that is Senor Malo - ino malo perro spectacular! - i have the cover album of old country tunes and Lucky One. Please recommend some of his other recordings in the vein of "Lucky One".

    Kwakw'ah!

  • did you hear him on imus his ballad was awesome

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • I just saw this tonight for the first time and I was WOWED. What a great cover.

  • Love this song, not a bad cover at all, but what the heck is Peter Kay doing singing it?

  • Thank you CW for sending this to me. This is one of the best I have heard also. Very good Raul. Thank you

  • Your rendetion of this great country classic is the absolute best I've seen. Your vocal, and the slower version cerainly sets the stage for great entertainment. THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THIS ONE, C.W. (5's and Fav'd)

  • I think this version is great

  • This version is great it is slower and more profond, Marty Robbins version is good but Rauls is better

  • What a stupid thing to say. Post your version.

  • Why should I,there's more than enough posts of Marty singing "El Paso" already on YouTube.

  • Anyone know who the beautiful redhead is?

Backs Raul nicely too , on vocals and violin

  • Megan Mullins

    YouTube channel: meganmullins10

  • Awesome version!

  • Gotta love it!

    And I'm into metal. Normally.

  • Raul-Mavericks - Way too good to be super famous. He could however, put his career into high gear by dropping about 50lbs. It's a bit like watching Kevin James with a goatee sing and play the guitar.

  • beautiful voice Raul, but the tune is about love...speed it up and look like you're having fun

  • Is this guy ever going to bless us with another live performance again, I`ve really got to see him live before i die. should be considered one of the best singers ever!!!

  • Brilliant as ever -what can't he sing?

I danced a Vienna Waltz to this and it was brilliant- who would think it- a cowboy song and a vienna waltz!

    Thanks for posting.

  • Gosh is there anything he can't sing - Awesome!!!!

  • holy shit, did he age poorly. Not his voice though..

  • Wow Faboulos

  • Dam thats good thanks forposting!!!

where do you get this stuff? thank you very much.

  • One of my favorites of all time, I really like your rendition, this song is better at a slower pace. You hit the high notes beautifully. Fantastic, Awesome, 5 STARS

  • I've heard that song milllions of times, but have never truly listened to the lyrics until now...mesmerizing rendition by Raul...I was totally sucked in by it.

  • Oh, to have been in that audience! Raul nailed that beautifully! Is there anything that man cannot sing??? Thanks for posting it!

  • The best version i have ever heard.

  • No way the best version, this version just drags on and on for way too long. Marty Robins is still the best.

  • simply superb :-)

  • just brill i can hear it over and over again thanks

  • Raul is a great singer but I believe that his work with the Mavericks circa 2003 was his best work. Those guys were exciting, electric and played original material. Now Raul has assembled a cover band.

  • I WAS AT THIS IN FEBRUARY AT THE PARAMOUNT IN AUSTIN....He got a standing ovation,,,as he did when he closed the show with "Bad Company"...thanks so very much for posting!

    KarenTex

  • Thanks so much for posting this...a jewel from Raul! :-) kat

  • perfect

  • About time Raul did a Marty Robbins classic.

Oh What A Thrill to find this on youtube.

I'd like to hear Raul do 'Don't Worry' or 'Is There Any Chance.'

    Thanks for posting this.

  • How about "Big Iron" or "A White Sport Coat"...

  • how about raul doing drowsy waters? a lot of you made the comment is there anything he couldn't sing..agreed. but man, give yoda his due..is there anything marty robbins could'nt sing?
