  • @smartkart You can. All you have to is register it as a moped. They might make him put on a headlight and taillight though. Of course every state has different laws..

  • It's too bad that you can't actually ride the bike.

  • @7188181 Usually you can. Have to register it as a moped in most situations. Local laws vary though.

  • @crazyfvck I was referring to the fact that the guy in the video never actually gets on the bike and takes a ride. Like a lot of these types of videos, they sit there and rev the engine but never hop on and ride off into the sunset.

  • @smartkart Did you see the seat?

  • just two bolts one connects to the head the other to one of the origional mounting holes

no welding made with an angle grinder and a drill !

  • @ducatiluke Why do you always spell "original" wrong? Do you actually think it's spelled that way?

  • @ducatiluke how u mount that pully?

  • how did you mount that?

  • ive changed the ratio lots of times i started with 5:1 that was a bit tall

but the engine had soo much torque once in motion it was great you could feel the power pulses of the engine

now i run about 6.5:1 that allows for easy takeoff's and reasonable top speed of about 70km/hr

  • what is the gear ratio total?

  • Can a four stroke run on its side ???

  • Can a 4 stroke.

  • Ahhhh. The bike powered bicycle bike!

  • the fan belt is used as a clutch i simply realese the tension buy pulling the leaver on the handel bars and it slips works well

the big pully drives a sprocket on the other side which drives a standard bicycle sprocket on the back wheel through a standard bicycle chain works well super reliable no issues for a year !!!

  • is that like the shaft just rubbin the tire or is it got a cluch

  • I would like to know how you done this send me a website or some way to contact you Ty

  • i have a 10 hp briggs and i want to make a motor bike but i think its too big to mount like that any ideas for how i could do it?

  • @smartkart Gear'd way to high.

  • I laugh at the name ;D "briggs and stratton bike powered bicycle bike"

  • looks like a game, but these experiments will result in a new concept vehicles at short future. Congratulations.

  • How were u able to make an engine designed to work with its shaft vertically, in a horizontal fashion? The sump would be on its side, and the oil pickup would be sucking air.

  • @alloyvistaeatswafer

    these engines use splash lubrication

that is somthing dips into the oil and throws it around the engine

ive added a dipper from a horizontal shaft to the conecting rod to do this job

and its been working great for a whole year

  • thanks for the answer... but how match oil do you have in it? and what´s the best modification i kan do make it faster?

i will upload a video of my bike tonight.

  • @bmxmatte1 if its got a cast iron camshaft not the plastic type

on the exahust lobe there are two lumps one very small, this is acts as a

compression realease , grind this one off it will increase your torque and hp a hand file is all you need dont take too much off just enough to stop the valve from lifting during compression stroke, then add a big ass carby

  • @ducatiluke how much power does that one make, 4? becuas i have a 4 horse im re-building and want one of these, also. will i need a clutch?

by the way very cool bike! im really blown away that that thing can do 90km/hr

  • @christhetromboneguy

    i was origionally a 3 and 1/2 hp engine

ive done some mods i beleve it puts out around 5 hp

i use a fanbelt from a car i have a tensioner thats operated by theleft brake leaver so it is effectivley the clutch

  • @ducatiluke do ya think 4 hp is enough cuz im gunna make one

    because yours looks real nice

  • @christhetromboneguy

you only need 1 hp to get around 50km/hr

so 4 hp is plenty especially when you have all the torque from a large capacity engine the briggs & stratton

  • @ducatiluke shit, i got 4 hp so i guess thatll do, i have a 3.5 but i need that one to mow my lawn, plus i need to get a new magneto and such parts, well thanks for the info

  • @bmxmatte1 i removed the piston and head

and with the engine mounted on the bike i looked down the bore and added oil till the oil level reached the dipper but didnt touch the crankshaft , of course when the engine is running the level will be much lower , then i recorded how much oil was needed for future oil changes the engine seems happy

  • @ducatiluke thanks for all the tips and answers. I use 1L oil in mine, that´s probably more than you use... but oil cant hurt.

  • how long do you think the engin last´s? i have a 3,5 hp vertical shaft plazed horizontal on my one bike and i dont know how long it will last :(

how long has your engin been running?

  • @bmxmatte1 well the engine had a working life as a lawnmower

for 20 years i put it on my bicycle without replacing any engine parts

after a year of hard use i striped it down and only found minor wear on the drive side main crankshaft jurnal due i believe to the tension of the belt so , i think with regular oil changes and an air filter the bike should last for years

  • that's a really cool bike bicycle bike

  • What's the power output of the engine?

  • well ive shaved the head , opened up the intake port , removed the decompressor on the cam lobe , removed the govenor, added a bigger carbi

standard they put out 3and 1/2 hp at 3800 rpm

i can say that it revs much harder than this and wouldent be suprised if it put out around 5 hp considering that its a 148cc engine this is a realistic figure

  • @TimpBizkit ABOUT 2 OR 3HP

  • no but iam not suprised

but i prefer the sound and other carateristics of 4 strokes

  • did u ever know that briggs and stratton makes a 148cc 2 stroke horizontal shaft?! :O

  • rear wheel is 26"

currently using a standard mountain bike tyre

  • How big is the big back tire like how many inches

  • Whst iz the final ratio

  • @ADRENALINE567

    its about 6.5:1

    but i keep changing ratios

i once used a sturmey archer 3spped hub dam the thing went quick

highest speed i got was 94km/hr

  • good job

  • @anthacdc yea

  • really ive been riding it for a year doing the shopping

pulled over once for speeding on the main road and was let off

  • Its ride-able, yes. But it isn't legal.

  • I made the oil splasher from some "thingy" which was in broken 3,5 hp briggs`s con rod`s big end and I let the original oil splasher on it`s place.

  • yes

    added a splasher

from a horizontal shaft engine tilted the carbi

  • I have couple of similar projects on our channel !!

  • yes its quite easy i left the origional oil splasher and installed a splasher from a horizontal shaft

  • how???

  • i have a el cheapo brand pushmower engine, i moddified the carb so its on its side. if i just put a little bit more oil in it and tilt it back while its running will that work for a bike?

  • if you ever try it you should let me know because i have been wondering that same question for a long time i have 3 lawn mowers that i never use so i was thinking of trying that

  • i never got around to it, another guy i know did the same thing but in a gokart and it lasted about an hour then blew up. now i have a honda horizontal engine im hopin to make a minibke with
