Hi. There definitely is oil on the lanes. It may not be your typical "house pattern" but it is lots of fun bowling there. I've bowled there twice , once with friends who bowl less than once a year and once with friends who bowl virtually every day. Everyone had a great time. It is best to call ahead since there are only two lanes.
this is great i would love to have this in my basement. i saw that kbowlgod300 said that u can buy a amf 8270 pinsetter for 550 does anyone know where they are at? hey kbowlgod300 could you let me know where those pinsetters are at i would like to buy two thanks
u can buy a amf 8270 pinspotter for 550 right now and do it ur self for under 10,000 with 2 machines and lanes ball return and thats all amf parts too
I looked into an alley for a basement about 5 years ago. It depends a lot on how serious you are about bowling. Major problem - you need about 110 ft. United Bowling in FL would install a refurbished one for about $25-30 K as of 5 yrs ago. But you still need to get an oil machine and more. It would be lots cheaper if you just wanted a fun short lane and did all the work yourself. If you are anywhere near Milwaukee, Holler House is worth a visit .
@thereaper6969 This wasn't a homemade build. The bowling alley has been there since 1908. It is the same alley, and the same equipment for the most part.

There actually appears to be some oil out there! I figured bowling in the Holler House would be like bowling in a parking lot. Impressive!
