  • how can i brush my teeth at school any tips

  • I am getting braces in 1 month. :/ i know they are gonna help my teeth butim affraid they'll hurt and i won't be able to eat gum or popcorn or anything that can get stuck in my teeth.... :(

  • I am getting braces in 2weeks after this Monday my friends say they are terrible but I think they are going to help my teeth I don't know I'd I should be happy or mad

  • Hello your the only video that responds to viewers(thank goodness for that!) Well my two front teeth push in and i would like to know how long it would take for them to move in place, my bottom is a little crooked but not too much. Thank you so much for responding and also I'm 11, but kids at school have had braces at age 8, so should I be embarrassed at all? Once again thank you for responding and great video it helped me alot (please excuse my horrible grammar)

  • @pipomn1699 Thanks for the comments! It is really difficult to know the timing of your situation without seeing your teeth. Straightening of the teeth us usually a very quick process, but getting the bite perfect can take some time. The other compounding problem is that many orthodontists have differing approaches to speed and the mechanics of tooth movement. I would get a free exam with a local orthodontist to evaluate your situation. At 11, you are at the perfect age, so don't be embarrassed!

  • @Str8Tth Thank you for the tips. I'm getting my consoltation on Aug 4th. So what do the orthodontists give you when you have braces?

  • @pipomn1699 I'm not sure I understand the question. As far as keeping your teeth clean, we give all of our new patient teens a Sonicare toothbrush, floss, proxibrushes, and other tooth cleaning aids.

  • @pipomn1699 Naw you shouldn't be embarrassed at all. I'm 16 and I just got them on. There's never a wrong age.

  • Hello! i am getting braces, and i want to know what kind of toothbrush and toothpaste i should use? Im 11.

  • @TheDreamsProductions We recommend a Sonicare toothbrush. As far as toothpaste, I have no strong preference when comparing the major brands. I use Colgate Total, but I know that Crest Complete Care is also a great product.

  • hi! i'm just wearing the braces...but it happen whenever i want to brush the braces part, i feel so much pain...how to brush my teeth without so much of pain?

  • @izzatshafiq1990 The pain should go away fairly quickly.

  • hello im 16 years old and im thinking of getting braces am i too old for them ??

  • @Indigapapir NO WAY!! Over 30% of our patients are adults! I think 16 is a great age to think about orthodontics!

  • @Str8Tth thank you very much for your answer

  • @Indigapapir I'm also 16 as well and I just got them on a couple weeks ago. I'm sure we aren't the only ones either. Also many of my friends got them on when they were 14 and had to wear them part way into their 16th year. It's never too late.

  • How do u brush your teeth without a yellow streak after words

  • Ive got that white stuff around a few of my teeth. Now you said it stays there but could be prevented makes me sad :( I Brush 3 times a day, EVERY day. and i still got it? I use god toothpaste and mouth wash aswell

  • @Str8Tth I'm an adult with braces, do you recommend an adult using an electronic toothbrush?

  • @celiemochick07 Absolutely! I think a Sonicare or Braun Oral-B are both great options. I use a Sonicare and we have those in the office for our patients.

  • Please help me. I brush regularly, but I'm still afraid that I will be left with marks on my teeth. At my next appointment on Thursday I am planning to ask my orthodontist how my brushing is, but I'm afraid he is going to say that I will be left with marks. Is there any way to ease my fear :(

  • @multigecko13 I'm sure you are doing well! You are going about it the best way. make sure and ask your orthodontist and maintain your regular dentist and hygienist visits. That is the best way to make sure things are going well!

  • @Str8Tth Thank you so much! I definitely will!

  • This is the third time I've heard of an orthodontist by the name of Fry.

  • @srisa99 Don't be scared...you will be a great patient, and everything will work out well!! I recommend brushing at least twice per day, but it is better to brush after every meal. We give all of our non-adult braces patients a Sonicare toothbrush. The Oral-B electric toothbrush is a good one too, but I use a Sonicare, and I think they are great!

  • I am supposed to be getting braces and i keep putting it off but am doing my research in the mean time. Do you recommend an electric toothbrush and if so brand and what should i look for in a toothbrush?

  • @Panamaswaife We give all of our non-adult braces patients a Sonicare toothbrush. The Oral-B electric toothbrush is a good one too, but I use a Sonicare, and I think they are great!

  • i dont know i will get braces i think i have two or four teeth bendind forwards

  • Hello, I have a few questions, what specific subjects will you study if you are to earn a bachelor's degree? Is it challenging to get into dental school? how many years of training in total would be required to become an orthodontist?

I am very interested in this career but still have many doubts. Thanks!

  • @ItsNicksterMan1 Most people choose a science degree like biology or chemistry. Several in my dental school class majored in history or english and still did very well in dental school. The degree is really not the most important component. There are prerequisites that dental school will require you to take.

  • @Str8Tth Thanks a lot! The last thing I wanted to know is, what subjects are most likely to be evaluated on the DAT? Besides biology, is there anything like reading comprehension, algebra and physics? Thanks

  • @ItsNicksterMan1 The best thing to do is access the DAT website on the American Dental Association's website.

  • @ItsNicksterMan1 Most would consider dental school difficult to get into, but doing well in school and on the DAT exam can make the process less difficult. dental school is usually 4 years after college and orthodontics residency can be 2 to 3 years long following dental school.

  • To be honest three times is practical you just need to plan. I follow a good routine, floss, oral irrigation, electric brushing 2minutes regular head, then 1 minute with an oral b interdental head, finally a 1 minute fluoride rise. The interdental heads from oral b are essential, if you are not using these then i really dont know how you are cleaning away the plaque, also its shocking just how much debry oral irrigation removes. 6 months to go!

  • Hello,I want to know if the spacers can fall off if you brush with a electric toothbrush??

  • @lollipop29982 Sometimes they may, if the spacers have been in for awhile. They can also fall out with a manual toothbrush. The best thing to do is contact your orthodontist once if they fall out, and get their advice on how to proceed.

  • Please subscribe to me as I start my journey with Damon Braces!!!!! I am so excited!!!!!

  • Thank you!!!! I needed some tips how to brush my teeth with braces thanks!!!!!!

  • Ewwww so that how people get puffy gums.

  • KANSAS!! WOO CHIEFS AND JAYHAWKS!!

  • I have a question: Do you have a choice of getting colors because i really want colors not just metal

  • @LufthansaAlitaliaKLM

    No problem!

  • Can you like not complain about your job?

  • The technique she is using i don't even know if i can consider that a technique.. Instead of focusing how to place the head of the brush not damaging the gum line they focus on advertising the brand of the electrical toothbrush

  • @alboss13 Please advise the subscribers and viewers a better option. We would love to have some research on a better option opposed to simply a negative comment on the video.

  • @alboss13 No payments come to me from these videos...I'm just trying to help patients. If there is a better way, I'd love for everyone to learn...including me.

    Dr. Jeremy

  • @Str8Tth You are an orthodontist specialist ( a licensed professional) and you should know that suggesting a brand product over another should be made on reasonable evidences. Just because SONIC electrical toothbrush has a times doesnt make it unique in comparison to other brands. If you would have said : " we recommend any electrical toothbrush that has a timer' i think it would have been more appropriate then just naming ONE, SONIC.

  • @Str8Tth You should make evidence based suggestions and as far as im concern there is no scientifically research that shows Sonic superior to Oral B lets say

  • @Str8Tth Thank You for your suggestion but i am not getting paid for Oral hygiene instructions like some people do.

  • Can you brush teeth with braces with an electric toothbrush ?

  • @TheKiaLouise it's definately not recommended, trust me I had braces for 2 years, although electronic toothbrushes does a better job, they have more force, and your braces can only take so much force, it's recmmended that you stick with amanual toothbrush with soft bristles, with proper techniques, manual toothbrushes are fine

  • @passionholic899 Thanks :D

  • my school wont let you go brush your teeth ... so is that a must have or can you just brush as soon as you get home

  • @Chiken1012 brushing after every meal is too much, just 3 times a day is enough as long as you're doing a proper job

  • wht if gum starts bleeding when brushing teeth

  • Hello, thank you for the video. I have a question. How poorly does your dental hygiene with braces have to be in order to get decalcification. Does it occure due to complete negligence or even if you brush 2 times a day instead of 4. Can you only tell if decalcification has occurred when the braces are taken off, or can you see it while they are still on?

  • your a fucking retard kids wont brush 3 times a day everyday of their life they might brush 1 day and they wont it "specific" food they will eat whatever they fucking want to eat and if they brush their teeth eating any food they want they will most likely be able to keep their teeth clean dumb ass and they wont always floss after every brush they have a life!, and when you wake up in the morning for school you don't have 5,6 or 7 minutes just for your teeth you don't have that much time! retard

  • im so pissed i am brushing alot! and i use mouthwash every day! but they are always yellow! what should di do?

  • How long should someone have braces on their teeth. Is 10 years too long to still having braces on teeth not removed; Yellowing starting to get yellower...is this a good sign?

My next question is what food to eat and not to eat. If the chainst or wires that hold the teeth together ever become removed what to do about it?

  • for the love of god, some ppl r some drama quens. braces don hurt bitches(they are irratating) but dey don hurt. it doesn't hurt to put dem on, it doen't hurt to keep to dem on and it DOESN'T hurt.....

  • I brush everwhere around my teeth, and I have braces, but it just doesn't seem to clean them or eliminate bad breath. Any help?

  • im getting mines today :D thanks for the tips!(:

and this information is very helpful.

    thank you Fry Orthodontic Specialists.

  • Awesome video!

  • from wre canton oh?

  • Okay, i have a question.... Even tho I have "Bumpers" on my 4 bottom teeth (so my top teeth dont nock off my brackets) can I Floss the same way as I do with the top braces?

  • You should not have any problems flossing as normal.

  • @Str8Tth Thank you so muchh! (:

  • orthodontic is not necesary.teeths are chew, nothing else.

beauty is relative. lots of women with disorderly teeths are very sexy women, is not required orthodontics , gorgeus is gorgeus with orthodontics or without orthodontics

  • HEY I USE SONICARE I GET BRACES IN 2 DAYS

  • I llove this video!I want to be a orthodontist, how much do they get paid MAX?anyone know..lols

  • I read somewhere the the MINIMUM is 75 dollars an hour...thats A LOT of money lol. I dont think there is a maximum.

  • Ahhhh Im doing terrible with brushing my teeth with braces they stay yellow hopefully after I watch this vid it will help :)

  • I got braces fitted on my birthday. I was so nervous of brushing incase I get it wrong. I will do what this USA orthadontist said back in the UK & pass the infomation to my friends with braces. Thanks for the infomation! XD

  • I just gone to put my braces on to my teeth. Feels good actually, lol

  • Your gums will recede if you brush such a large portion of your gums with an electric toothbrush!

  • Ja ist ja alles schön und gut.Aber ich kommt ganz oben nicht ran.Da sind die Zähne gelb. Ohfg-.-

  • what should i do if i have a tooth that growing almost in the roof of my mouth?

  • see an orthodontist

  • I have that. Its called an impacted tooth. I need braces and surgery to fix it. It sux :(

  • oops i guess this means im not brushing correctly my orthodonist is gunna be SO mad =\

  • I totally disagree with the whole school thing, 3 times a day, its not pracitical at all and hardly anyone will do it. My braces are off in 6 weeks, I brush twice a day (each time brush 2 times and use mouthwash) and the dentists have been telling me my brushing is excellent. As long as you brush twice a day and use mouthwash then there's not really a need for the third brush.

  • I agree. My orthodontist said that 2x a day was absolutley fine. I drink a lot of water so the food is rinsed away

  • @0MangoButter0 exactly what i do.

  • Thanks i brush my teeth almost three times a day but it still doesn't go away and my parents say its just a time of age so i am kinda confused

  • My Teeth are always yellow what should i do?

  • If the yellowness goes away when you brush your teeth, you should brush more. If it is staining, I would recommend checking with your general dentist.

  • i do brush and still blood coming from my teeth and how to brush hard or softly do brush and i do my teeth brush 2 times a day i drink coffee and i drink sugar in tea and other things thanks how to keep my teeth healthy for all life i dont wanna lose my teeth thanks

  • u must add flossing to your routine

  • I know they sais they were gonna show it dut they didnt

  • You should floss, and ask your dentist about bleeding gums...

  • Okay Thanks!

  • Brushing is very important during the process of braces. I get mine off on May 13. Hopefully i will not have any brown spots. So far i have brushed 2 or 3 times a day. LISTEN TO THEM THEY ARE TOTALLY RITE.

  • Hi...Umm, Do all braces have elastics?.....

  • Not all...but it depends what you mean by "elastics." Some refer to the round "doughnuts" that hold the wire in as "elastics"....not all braces need these. I refer to elastics at rubber bands to help fix certain bite situations.

  • Would using listerine as a mouthwash with braces damage your teeth in any way since it has alchoal as an ingredient?

And if it does do you recommend a certain kind of mouthwash to use daily?

  • Listerine should not damage your teeth.

  • i have tht white mark on one of my teeth.. how can make it normal again? the problem is tht that tooth is way up in my gums so its very hard to brush.. i just got braces 3 days ago and i take about an hour brushing my teeth.. im not kiddin.. i cnt floss (well not yet) cuz my teeth are so sensible tht i cnt get it between my teeth..

  • The white mark that was on your teeth prior to braces is a tough one to fix. You can get a tooth-colored filling, you can try to bleach everything around that spot (not during braces, though)...it would be best to talk with your general dentist.

  • how the hell am i supposed to brush my teeth at school! I'll look like a freak!

  • do it in the bathroom. a lot of people will have braces at some point in their life so if they don't already have them, they'll find out later OR they've already had them and understand

  • how come when i try flossing sometimes sometimes the floss get tangled and stuck with my brakets?????????????????????????

  • Sometimes that happens, but keep at it!! You might try some different floss that may be thicker and stronger.

  • this girl i know only brushes her teeth once a week. its so gross !!!

  • Same here, a girl I know only brushes her teeth and showers only once a week!!

  • I brush once after work around 5:30

and I have a thorough 20-25 minute or so routine (that will take less time as I get better at it) that I do before I go to sleep. Are my teeth going to be ok when I get the braces off in 2 years?

  • That routine seems good. Make sure and continue to visit your general dentist and hygienist ever 4-6 months.

  • I have a question. I have the oral b ''perfessional care'' toothbrush, that beeps every 30 seconds. does that work as well?

  • That works great! The key is to use it for a full 2 minutes.

  • owie! =[ how could i make it not hurt when i get braces? 'cuz i have completely sideways teeth. also, what do you do with teeth like mine?

  • Braces can fix almost anything!

  • Does that include over bites?

  • wow two miutes isnt a long time.. it takes me about 6ish to finish brushing with braces on

  • ppl say that if u dont brush ur teeth with ur braces on it will leave a white mark were ur braces were at wen u take them off

  • ive had braces 13 months now and im getting elastics at the end of this month, ive heard they hurt alot but im not really bothered about the pain. i can cope with that lol. my ortho hasnt said anything about them yet, just that im getting them to close a small gap between an incisor and the one next to it (not sure if thats correct terminology lol) i was just wondering if i wear them all the time im instructed to, (which i will) does that mean the braces will come off sooner yeah ?

  • Yes he probably is right about that. Keeping your teeth clean moves teeth at a much faster healthier rate. So if you dedicate and religously brush them they will come off sooner.

  • my orto told me if i keep my teeth very clean that it could take 6 months off my braces time. is that true?

  • It always depends, but I'd listen to your orthodontist.

  • im not able to brush my teeth at school.

will it hurt if i wait a few hours untill i get home?

  • Although it would be better if you could, you should be OK.

  • i have braces also, i brush, in the morning, after breakfast, after school, after dinner, and before i go to bed. you should try that schedule

  • thanx

  • wow

    ur teeth wil b sparkling

  • Would you recommend the WaterPik or any other water jet?

  • WaterPiks are awesome. It should not replace flossing, but it is a great tool. I don't know much about the water jet.

  • Thank you for the feedback and your informative videos =]

  • MAN... ima start brushin from now on thank u GOD for finally gettin it threw my thick skull, in my head now i realize!!

i gotta take better care of my teeth ima start now, today.....

    YAY

  • oh crap... i didn't know teeth can turn out like that if you didn't brush properly

  • Even at school?

Can you just skip after lunch and brush really, really thoroughly after meals and in the morning and at night at home?

  • yeah my mom bought me a toothbrush to use at school, but i dont brush after lunch, even tho itd prob be a good idea, she said shed write a note if she had to so i had time after lunch durin class...

  • that's what i did. Who has time to brush after every meal? I brush after breakfast and leave and then brush really good at night when i get home. My doctor said i did a good job cleaning. But i do brush after every meal when I'm at home though.

  • yay i've been brushing them right for 3 years woot woot

  • my ortho said it would benefit me chewing gum with braces because of my jaw im not sure what this means would you be able to help me because i thought that you couldn't chew gum with them but he is telling me i should what is your verdict?

  • Chewing gum is a great thing to do with braces...it allows the teeth to move faster AND reduces the pain! Make sure it is sugar-free gum.

  • yea but ur not supposed to they even tell u not to when u get them...

they can also get stuff in ur braces & create a HUGE mess..

  • I can tell you, as an orthodontist, it IS GOOD to chew sugar-free gum with your braces...I promise!

  • hay err i just got braces 30 mins ago it doesnty hurt at all you cant feel anything except fofr funny tasting stuff! HAHA its really hard for me to brush my teeth and eat! AAAAAAAAAAARRR!

  • yeah i have braces. they dont hurt at first. after like two hours with them on it hurts a little, you shouldnt feel major pain though. i suggest taking tylenol BEFORE the appointment.

  • I have braces ever since 2007 and andd anddd what color is the glue they put on?

    xD

  • Im getting my braces in a few months and i am a bit worried about how they put it on, do they give a special gas or something at the start, cause i am just curious about it and a bit nervous

  • Being nervous is very normal. Putting on the braces does not hurt at all...there is no need for any gas or shots or anything.

  • no gas.. no nothing to put u to sleep... you have a thingy that pry your mouth open, the doctor cleans your teeth, puts special glue on it, puts the metal things on your teeth, precisely position it, pull a wire through each of the metal things, reposition some metal things to make sure your teeth are being pulled into perfect unison and voilla.. you can go

  • i havent been flossing

  • is it true when u eat something ur teeth hurts because ur wearing braces???

  • Your teeth will be a little uncomfortable for a couple of days after your braces are put on and after each visit. Other than those days, your teeth should feel normal.

  • Not really, i have braces, most people ask does it hurt, it hurts for acouple of days and i would only drink, but u hardly notice them afterwards

  • dude, our mouth cant bend that way so its hard to get the backs. and who brushes at school?? && when you brush ur gums it hurts, ur like scraping the gums.

  • does it hurt will they give me a shot i dont like shotsis it uncomfortable

  • when u get braces they dont give u shots... well, at least i didnt. they just polishes it anf sort of glues the brackets to my teeth, then they put the wire in. and it does not hurt at all when they put the braces on.

  • i just got mine yesterday...theyre soo uncomfotablee

  • i know how to floss without floss threaders =)

  • hi there i really need braces and my parents keep saying they will take me but they never do its hard enough them even taking me to the dentist i dont want my teeth to fail over needing anything done my denist said its a must for me to have braces but have you got any ideas on how you can make parents relise how important it would be? i said that i would even give all my money i have saved and all my money i earn from my job to help pay but they say its not the money side please help me

  • The best way to fully understand how braces and straightening your teeth will benefit you...and to get it across to your parents, is to have another talk with your dentist or orthodontist.

  • im gettin my braces off 2morroww

  • thank you i just got mines yesterday and i didnt know how to brush my teeth with them

  • i have a question. i want braces i don't have it yet. am i suppose to ask my dentist? and also how many time do i have to floss my teeth... everyday?

  • Talking to your dentist is a great first step. Flossing is best done everyday.

  • Hmmtoo lazy

  • that fake mouth has got some nice teeth 8D

  • hey i have a reaallllly big overbite. i'm thinking about getting braces but for the overbite i don't want to use a headgear thing. what else could i get instead?

  • There are many other options than headgear. Look for an orthodontist who uses a MARA appliance, Herbst appliance, or Forsus appliance. These are great at fixing "overbite."

  • i have rubber bands right now. ur not supposed to eat with them. but u can do anything but eat with them. u get used to them like the 4th day u have them. they are a pain!
