  • they just dont make them like in the good ole days!!!! amazing how technology and emmissions have changed the powerplants

    OUTBOARD ENGINES!

  • I got on and it a nice engine but very big :D

  • My older Brother back in 1973 had a 150hp same make, short shaft with a stainless steel 3 bladed Prop on his Check Mate boat which had Trim Tabs to stabilize it, big time. Back then, they were doing 75mph, sometimes faster. A handful of his buddies all had racing boats. It was a memory for me worth remembering. Damn they would be exhilarating. HEY, he told me the PROPs make All the difference. Stainless Steel 3 blade ROCKS. $300.00 back then.

  • I have a 3 blade stainless laser II 24p that will be going on in the spring . So shld be going alittle faster in spring

  • how much does one of these weigh?

  • This motor weighs right about 330lbs

  • How fast were you going.. Gets up on to a plane quickly!

  • I was doing 56mph . Thats about all I get out of the old girl . But on my checkmate thats fast enough lol

  • another "tower of power" owner here yours sounds great! man these engines..new water pump every two years, 93 octane, propped right, and they last forever!

  • You are so right these motors still have the best power to weight ratio . And boy do they sound awesome on the hole shot. I actually have 2 of these motors . I have a 1975 also
