  • I need acid with this song

  • Saw Verve supporting Ride in 1992. Now there was an example of a support band outshining the band they were supporting.

  • this song is sooo chill. just lay down and enjoy the music

  • Cool song !

  • One of my favorite VERVE songs

  • This music video reminds me of heavy substance abuse.

  • it`s almost 6 o`clock, soon i`m gonna listen to that song.. once again. Oh boy... i`ll have another beautiful trip soon.

Boy oh boy :)). My girlfriend wants sex... so, basically i have to choose right now... sex or 6 o`clock ? Sex and 6 o`clock... i think it`s a good combination :).

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Oleeee :)).

Sweet life to all of you verves.

  • @costin12

    You just made me wet!!!!

  • muy buena cancion

  • one of the finest verve tracks... pure fkn class...

  • Comment removed

  • To me Bittersweet Symphony got a bit overplayed, but apart from that Urban Hymns - no weak point. Tune after tune. Top 5 favourite LPs.

  • Forth is great. I thought it captured their original sound very well. then again, what do i know ;P

  • you know alot for sure.

:) fourth was a storm in heaven 2.

  • Well I see where you are coming from, but I disagree. The only mainstream 'pop' song, is 'Love is Noise', which I really like. Songs Like 'Columbo' 'Appalachian Springs' 'Rather Be' and 'Valium Skies' which are all off 'Fourth' are absolutely incredible, yes different to their older stuff, but not poppy.

  • to be completely honest. i believe Fourth was one of the best albums in the past decade.

    Columbo,

some of the melodies are those of a storm in heaven.

    especially Valium Skies?

one of the Verve's greatest songs.

i really dont understand how the album went sort of under the table, and didnt get all the attention it deserves.

    yet again.

it was good the week it came out and then

    it sort of just disappeared

i guess media only care about jonas brothers, and miley cyrus.

  • very well said...

  • the album went #1 on the UK albums charts back in august

  • I love this song. But I always thought that they were a better singles band then album band. I wish they would of did more of the "Man Called Sun" and "No Come Down" type of stuff.

  • Shame they didn't continue down this road and Storm in Heaven.

They've just got worse and worse until they ended up at their latest dissapointment.

  • are you crazy, your saying that bitter sweet symphony, and lucky man. or even sonnet, and drugs dont work, or rather be,

columbo, valium skys, love is noise.

    are terrible song's? mate,

those are better then most shit out these days,

  • Bitter Sweet Symphony is indeed an epic song. It's just..timeless.

I've listened to the Verve ever since I was a little kid, their songs just never get old.

  • Those songs are good, but good for different reasons than their old stuff.

  • I agree with you.

  • soo fucking cool

i love this king of bands, its so interesting to listen them....

the england rock the best in the last time

  • Anybody know what town Ashcroft is living in these days? I heard somewhere near May Hill, or somewhere in Gloucestershire....

Any help would be appreciated! Cheers!

  • jesus christus

  • Old school verve........The BEST!!!!!

  • 3rd generation psychedelia

  • Ashcroft looks very effeminate here

  • this son , remenberme to the 80

  • good song. he looked like jim morrison a couple times:)

  • orgasmic

  • no money no job, no girl and i was miserable. listened to this song and it reminded me..it's all in the mind!

  • REALLY MASSIVE, BEAUTIFUL

  • first verve single 92'

  • I think this is by far their best song!

  • mate they are better then the third album

  • this song is like magic!

  • Are both of their albums before 'Urban Hymns' as good as this song?? Don't know how it's possible but I love this song even more than Lucky Man and Bitter Sweet Symphony. Tell me if I should buy their earlier stuff

  • yer u should

  • look up 'this is music', and 'history' is one of the best songs ever written !!

  • N O T H I N G touches 'THE VERVE' :D

  • how does the verve relate to oasis...?

  • Awesome, The Verve will always be my fav!!!!

  • all the love is in my mind im a lucky man

  • this came out two years before oasis released a song

  • And Oasis were Verve's support band for a while.

  • If it ain't broke don't fix it! They don't need a 'THE'!!!

A Storm In Heaven was, is and always will be fookin' incredible!

    Back to QUALITY with Forth.

  • They did need a 'The', they would have been sued without it.

  • this tunes sooo sexy

  • There's a very-very old band in Hungary,/calles Nulladik változat = Version Zero/ which made (make?) songs like that, I really love this style^^

It's a giant song, The verve rocks.

  • Shitty Quality!

  • """AWESOME"""

  • really awesome... and so underrated

  • Love this!!!!!!!!!!!

  • my favourite verve song of all time,It shows Ashcrofts and McCabes brilliance

  • you know, under the influence of drugs really does make some great music

  • I love that Nick is playing a Flying V. First and only (?) time he's ever played such a machine. This is their first single, and, if you didn't know already, it's all about Nick.

  • What does it mean "it's all about Nick"?...

  • dirt arab lmao...ahahh i must be a dity arab cos i think this is amazing! the band who started britpop and finished it. could watch this all day all night

  • I would say Suede started Britpop,

  • defo agree on that suede kicked britpop of and i think finished it with the brilliant coming up

  • Woo! Old! But cool ;)

  • holy shit

  • psychodelic of verve rulz!!!

  • The coolest song ever!

  • Nice music, nice style :-)

  • One of there most uptempo tracks, stunning.Loved this period, well psychedelic, the music sounded so stoned.

  • Saw these boys play in Wadham College JCR back in early 92. Awesome then, awesome now.

  • really alternative music and the hair style..

  • THE VERVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • never heard this song until recently.. cool stuff

  • best band of the 90s hands down

  • so true

  • Best band of the 90's? They're a music revolution you mean. They still are the best band. There hasn't been anything close to this band since the 60's. And their an improvement at that. True Rock and Roll.

  • Best band of the 90's? xD

    öm > Nirvana , mkay? a way better ...

  • Shut up. Can't say it otherwise.

  • Fucking idiot

  • haha what are you on about, sad little boy

  • wot u gonna do big boy

  • haha, your a complete idiot, have i said i was going to do anything, but if you want to keep writing racist stuff go for it,how ever how you can call me what you did baffels me,it just shows your a complete dick head

  • and wot

  • and wot? It means u have a dick on ur head

  • entitled to your opinion, but in terms of songwriting the Verve are on a par with the Who and others, and probably more skilled than the Stone Roses. You might not like a band but you can't say it's because they're 'not good'.

  • the person who commented last is a fay yankee arse sniffer

  • i would h8 to be english.....

    maybe thats just because im

    100% irish

  • I'm english, I'm not proud of it. We are what we are. We don't have to proud, nor do we have to be ashamed of it.

  • thats up to you mate . if you aren't proud of coming from the greatest country in the world maybe you should move to france . :)

  • Who says England is the greatest country in the world? You? The government?

England has the highest amount of teenage pregnancy, number one in the world for child harrasment, 16 in the world literacy tables. But hey, I'm not ashamed, nor am I proud. An nor do I feel that we need to rate the different countries in order of best to worst. :)

  • @VamLoveAndKisses but it sure has produced the best rock music. Key word: BEST

  • @VamLoveAndKisses but it sure has produced the best rock music. Key word: BEST

  • @VamLoveAndKisses but it sure has produced the best rock music. Key word: BEST.

  • @VamLoveAndKisses but it sure has produced the best rock music. Key word: BEST.

  • @VamLoveAndKisses they're number one for child "harrasment" because they actually catch people doing it.

  • how bout the people who dont care..would that be third choice? dummasss

  • if you don't care , then why respond dumbass LOL .

  • I can't say your the best, but you do make the best music...

  • we always have....and i think we always will.

  • one of my favorite tunes ever.

  • awesome......

  • for one bono is shit assuming your talking about the lead singer of U2 and two bono can not no matter what you say sing from the heart like this "kid" as you want to put does

  • youve obviously not really LISTENED to U2's lyrics then

  • bono would get ass raped by richard

  • Does Northern Soul sound more like Storm in Heavan or Urban Hymns???

  • Neither.

  • Neither. It's got its own unique sound.

  • go on and see the verve drugs don`t work :-| top

  • go and check this The Verve - 6 o' clock

  • pity that so many songs by this band were under-rated!!!

  • yeah by idiot joe public, anyone who knew the real score about the british music scene knew just how amazing most of the verves songs where. it was the obvious ones that got big, same in oasis's case aswell, all their best are unknown in regards to their chart hits

  • I saw ashcroft solo last year but this year they all comin back... cant fuckin wait

  • bono is fuckin shit i dont give a fuck what anyone says bono aint got shit on ashcroft!!

  • bono an aight guy tho

  • bono's a bit of a cock, really

  • theyre my FAVOURITE BAND in the world and anybody who doesn,t think therer the best is a fucking loser

  • fanfuckintastic song. reminds me of pink floyd when syd barret was the lead.

  • that's correct, and the end of the song is like u2 :D

  • yeah richard sounds sortve like bono with his young voice. its deepened now though.

its always a trip watching artists age, especially if theyre enjoying themselves (IE drugs).

  • clayfo uuhumm you need glasses for onr thing Richard has a nose....a beautiful nose, theyre nothing alike..love you Richard kick ass verve

  • I wont waste my time on you///

  • what century was that?

  • WEIRD/FUNNY VIDEO, COOL SONG.

  • if you got a guitar guys n girls pick it up there ia massive gap opening take this in rock in forever ending watch what you buy that tails you sound love and peace still young and never give up no matter what any one says if you feel noone gets it take it move it on get a new pedal see what happens

  • To clayfo:

    For a start...

    Richard Ashcroft: White/British

Micheal Jackson: Naturally Black... (enough said???)

A rather under-rated tune in my opinion... pure perfection at it's upmost!

  • u've gtb kidding!! Michael Jackson?? Maybe Michael Hutchings, sadly gone over a decade now. Was lead singer for INXS remember???

  • there earlier stuff is smillar to red house painters

  • I have respect for Michael Jackson and what he did ..

BUT!! Michael Jackson and Richard Ashcroft look nothing alike.

  • you are idiot, aren't you??

  • I think so... getting old! Yeah it was 1993 I saw them for the first time too. And it was totally dead there too! See my myspace blog (aliwheelie)

  • This vid is mad, but i luv it so much. The Verve Forever :).

  • fuckin great tune have this on 12" gonna dig it out and turn it up!!!

  • This is a great song, Got it the day it came out :D

Been trying to find footage of when Verve were on Rapido. Had it on VHS, but it disappeared about 12 years ago. Does anyone remember it, or even better, have it? The only memory of it I have is of 'Mad Richard' chasing some kids down a hill in purple flares...

  • was this their debut single, if so great debut hey...wot ohter debut singles do u people out there thing are top? the drowners by suede has gotta be up there as a debut single !

  • I agree, The Drowners was fantastic.

    What about:

Oasis - 'Supersonic' (although went off them early on!)

And the same week of Supersonic's release (I seem to remember) was Whiteout - 'No Time'!

  • Forgot to say, yes it was Verve's debut single. And funnily enough I seem to remember it was released the same week as the drowners... I could be talking rubbish of course! Otherwise I am an uber geek!

  • yeah under-rated for sure this song!

  • Definitely one of their best songs.

  • I looove early verve

  • Definitely one of the most underestimated songs ever!

    Sooooo nice!

  • gosh richard was too hot here!!! thanks for posting!
