I identify this record as the definitive record of its era. If she were not otherwise taken, I would agree to marry M2O in a heartbeat. I have followed her (not in the Stalker sense but just in the Huge Fan sense) since SongShip, and that's going back a while. But M20 is posolutely and absitively the greatest person this nation has ever contributed to modern music. Nothing compares to Miss America, and incidentally, you apparently missed "Apartment Hunting".

I saw this back in the 80s and thought it was inspired.

A few years later I noticed in the REM video Losing My Religion that Michael Stipe had similar type of indecisive dance moves as Mary has in this video.

REM won the best video of the year.

This is a truly haunting video and fits the music like a glove.

In a world of freeze dried performances and rampant consumerism Mary O reminds us to not to just think outside the box but to BE outside the box.  People might think that's weird but weird is generally a judgement to do with being different from the usual conformity. From the first moment I heard her music I was mesmerised. Sadly I've never seen her all-too-rare solo shows, so I have no idea what she covers. But she doesn't lack material. She's well known for calling musician friends up and leaving new songs on their answering machines. So I suspect she sings whatever she feels like singing during her once a year concerts.

She did an album with a band called The Henrys a good few years ago. When Miss America was released in 1989,I was in hospital recovering from a very serious motorcycle accident.The Bodys in Trouble (how befitting) video was one of the few things beyond morphine that helped me forget the pain!

Best kept secret..Mary plays live every St.Patty's day at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern here in Toronto to a packed house. You will never foget it if you see her.
