@masteryoga4 if your talking about that ring aim thing then you have to hold LT bottom when you attak and let it go exacly when it the ring cover the middle ring.
Actually this game if very good and has stunning visuals. This is most likely one of the better rpg out there. Just because it turn base doesn't = old. FF7 was great becuase of the story, visual and characters interactions. Xenogears never top FF7. Games like Star ocean was good but games like infinite undiscovery is borning and controls are horrible. Last Remnant story is not so epic but combat is controls is refershing. However, it still controls is still turn base.
dude Final Fantasy is awsome but the thing is that this game when they take turn hitting it shows some movie like events and not just taking turns hitting each other. But Final Fantasy is still my #1. Hope FF13 will be awsome too
I would like to see Mistwalker expand on that idea and make some even more dynamic yet strategic combat. They did it really well in LO but it could still improve.

This game is pretty DAMN amazing to me. I don't see what people have to bitch and moan about. The only small gripe I have is the load times. But I don't even notice them anymore. Everything from the story, the characters, the gameplay, combat is fun as hell and deep enough without being to confusing. I LOVE this game.
Kaim is the main characters name yes. But i don't think this is a sequel/prequel to Drakengard as i don't think Mistwalker have copyrights to produce a new installment in a Square-franchise.
I can't believe how many of you don't know, or dislike turn based battles. And those of you who claim "but where's the innovation?" go buy Oblivion or something. Do you not know who is responsible for this game? HIRONOBU SAKAGUCHI! He's the guy that created Final Fantasy! So it would only seem proper for him to continue on with his traditional RPG roots. it doesnt do much new in turn based but you do get rings where you can do more dmg from attacks by timing i.e perfect, good and bad. You have an outer ring which you have to time with the inner ring. You want to get as close to the inner ring as possible.
Well, if you buy the game and you get into a battle, you'll notice at the bottom left a picture of who is going to go next. Basically turn-based RPG means that each person takes a turn attacking, instead of all out swinging or magic casting.
This looked pretty interesting from the trailer because there was a massive fast paced battle going on and great graphics. However, the game play with turn based fighting, especially after watching the fmv, seemed painfully slow and out of place. It looks visually stunning, but it is basically ff-10 with better graphics because it doesn't offer anything new or innovative.
Ive got it and its really good. As for the framerate issues I havent really noticed major drops which effect my gameplay. Its a bit on the linear side but this is still worth getting.
what about different weapons and armors, are they actually wearing them after you put on a new armor, so you can see it or is it just the points that rise, i hope it has nice armors and weapons, it doesnt even needs too many of thoose, just some so you can switch and be happy about it, graphics are good, and sound sounds good too, its about time we get a game like that, but nobody beats oblivion, but i guess we all know there totally not the same, can wait to get it

Who cares about discs? The game should be why you get or don't get a game. Some people say this style of game is worn out, if you don't like it then don't play it. On the subject of oblivion, it didn't have many pre-rendered cinematic scenes and a lot of the content was genereated procedurally, there was very little imagery besides the cities that were actual solid assets in the game. It was an ingenious method to save space, but games with a much more "set" environment can't be made that way.
ah, i don't know if random = repetitive...but i do know that turn based = crap. Oblivion, a giant, monster game that was jam packed with 100s of hours of gameplay, was only 1 disc.

True. To be honest I hate the PS3 now. Damn console barely has any titles and only has 2 decent (and probably) the only RPG's on it. Enchanted Arms and Oblivion. 360 seems to have more variety with games and Lost Odyssey is another great addition for them.

Well that all I can think of right now that are exclusive to the console.

Yes, it is the same music guy. IT is not coming to the PC or PS3, it is xbox 360 exclusive. The reason it is turn-based is to appeal to the japanese market. That is why this game is is japanese and being released there first.

I thought the only downfall to FFXII was its storyline and characters. To say people are disloyal because they don't prefer the original method is ludicrous. Would this mean, then, that Zelda should always be 2D? To me it is the same idea; innovation can be a positive thing. The gameplay changes in FFXII were genius, well thought out, and borrowed a lot from other formulas. That doesn't make it a failure, but it proves that it is flexible enough to allow change into their ideas.
because while WoW might have infected a large majority of the world, some people see it as a bad business move to try and adapt it into offline games. Personally, a game with WoW combat would fail on a HUUUUGE level just because I think WoW is there worst game ever created but meh, thats jut me.

Yesterday Nobuo Uematsu IN PERSON was in Florence (Italy) and there has been an orchestral concert dedicated to him in which the orchestral version of the "Lost Odyssey's Main Theme" has been played, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE WORLD. I WAS THERE (sometimes is SO good to be Italian), and I can assure you that was INCREDIBLE, FANTASTIC, AWESOME! really a great experience...
I just can't get enough of the amazing battle music; I especially love the part starting at 00:26 min!
Also, the part at 1:55 min, when the other guy had to sneeze was pretty funny, totally unexpected; I loved it! XD And the battle-system looks and feels great!!!

It means that you take turns to attack, like the Final Fantasy games.
You (or the enemy) attacks first, then you (or the enemy) attacks afterwards.
Anyways, Lost Odyssey looks great.

its not turn based, but its not real time either.
its basically like a controllable fight from Advent Children, if you saw that movie.
they wanted to make it seem like a "realistic" fight...
turn based will always kick ass, though

I don't know what kind of Final Fantasy fan you are but obviously you aren't a good/loyal one if you refuse to respect the original style of combat that MR.SAKAGUCHI CREATED. FFXIII is CRAP because Square-Enix is crap, money doesn't me shit when people will MINDLESSLY buy their crap depends on how HYPED an item is or the LABEL behind it. The fact that a large group of people are gonna back the idea that FFXIII is gonna be crap just as the PS3 is won't change.

I thought the only downfall to FFXII was its storyline and characters. To say people are disloyal because they don't prefer the original method is ludicrous. Would this mean, then, that Zelda should always be 2D? To me it is the same idea; innovation can be a positive thing. The gameplay changes in FFXII were genius, well thought out, and borrowed a lot from other formulas. That doesn't make it a failure, but it proves that it is flexible enough to allow change into their ideas.

I can see where you're coming from. Final Fantasy died with Sakaguchi's departure in my opinion. XII did nothing for me personally.

because while WoW might have infected a large majority of the world, some people see it as a bad business move to try and adapt it into offline games. Personally, a game with WoW combat would fail on a HUUUUGE level just because I think WoW is there worst game ever created but meh, thats jut me.

Yesterday Nobuo Uematsu IN PERSON was in Florence (Italy) and there has been an orchestral concert dedicated to him in which the orchestral version of the "Lost Odyssey's Main Theme" has been played, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE WORLD. I WAS THERE (sometimes is SO good to be Italian), and I can assure you that was INCREDIBLE, FANTASTIC, AWESOME! really a great experience...

I just can't get enough of the amazing battle music; I especially love the part starting at 00:26 min!
Also, the part at 1:55 min, when the other guy had to sneeze was pretty funny, totally unexpected; I loved it! XD And the battle-system looks and feels great!!!
