I have never been more enraged at a movie more than Red State. Even if it's fiction the fact that they tortured and murdered these boys with huge grins on their faces all in the name of their "God" just violently pissed me off.

You cant go in looking at it as a Kevin Smith film you got to go in to it saying here is a new style of Kevin Smith lets see what happens.. I thoroughly enjoyed it.. the story really pulls you into an emotionally disturbing mood it creeps you out at parts make you laugh and look at it baffled 10/10 from me ( this is a kind of a bias review as I love Kevin Smith) great look at it guys keep the reviews a'comin.

@ThrashingBurton Doesn't it make you wonder why? Why do you enjoy this kind of movie experience? I'm really asking, because I'll admit to enjoying films with swords and lots of blade action but have never enjoyed these kinds of films. I've never been in a sword fight, so maybe that's why, however; I see these emotionally disturbed people around me all the time so have no desire to see more of them on the big screen. Are you like "normal" with a "normal family"?

Very much like TRS's review, this film was a mixed bag for me. Very different from previous Smith movies, lots of twists and turns. And I was surprised about how violent it was and as mentioned lack of characters to sympathize with.
