@10diegosoccer10 If you want to check out a car, check out a bands website, or check out an avarage small company chances are fairly large you would need flash support to watch the website properly.

I think the lack of flash on a device this large is a problem. On my iPhone i can overlook it, but on this i want a solid browsing experience, and the iPad cannot provide that.

@MolanoZwolie: I think it is important to note that even the mighty youtube is switching to HTML5. No more plug-ins needed like Flash or silverlight(by MS) I would rather buy something that was going to be going where the technology is going, not be boggled down by old tech. "Solid" might only be a short time now. Push the technology forward instead of populist choices like "oh it needs Flash!" that is not how to innovate, it is just a way to pander...maybe you like to be pandered to, not me

@pnutty7 Flash is a solid technology that html 5 cannot fully replace. But you know what? Your right. You buy your product that someday will be usefull. When that someday comes, i'll buy the ipad 3rd generation.

You just know when something is not going to work, that when that product needs pitching, people who like the product can only tell you about how handy the product will be, if only technology catches up.

"The potential is amazing" is a pretty "populist" pitch.

MolanoZwolle: It is tooo much of an assumption that HTML will not replace Flash and Silverlight, etc. Being that those present technologies are more suceptable to viruses one can see that HTML should become more popular. Potential is only good if websites change, but most analysist (not pro-Apple people by any means) believe HTML5 will convert most websites. Hey Flash saying something like, "what a great experience!, most websites already use Flash"- is a populist pitch too.

@pnutty7 Well, html, or any other technology for that matter, will someday replace flash thats for sure. When this will happend and if this will be with HTML5 isnt sure. The thing is though that even if technicly HTML 5 might be capable of a lot, a lot of people will have to learn to get the most out of it. Flash is very userfriendly and has years of experience and innovation to its name.

That its vulnerable to viruses is true, but anything thats able to run code or advanced scripts will be.

@MolanoZwolle Just because something has "years of experiece" has nothing to do with anything once something comes along and does it slightly better. And then that thing will get replaced with something better and so on, Innovation and making things better is how things should work. The whole "well it has been around for years and people can't change so easily", does not take into effect that humans actually can change (their habits) Well most of them, others i see can't. People lately have been saying the iPad sucks because of the price and no multitasking and flash but I seriously don't care and only want it for apps and everyday needs. Flash and multitasking don't bother me and personally I think the keyboard looks great to type on. I'm getting mine when it comes out in australia which is late april.
