@JCustomZ The kit is a Sonor Delite 8,10, 12, 14,16, 22 (currently for sale on Craigslist). The hihats are 14" Zildjian New Beats, the crashes are a Zildjian K Custom and a couple of Zildjian As. The ride is a Zildjian approxiomately 35 years old. The China is equally old. The heads are G2 coateds. The snare is a 14" old Tama RoyalStar
@MarkrkusWar52 That guy is awesome! I listened to his William Tell cover and couldn't stop laughing - what a great workout. I've had my toms reversed for about 5 years now. I don't think that I've ever seen anyone else with their set configured quite like mine. I did it as an experiment, liked it and have kept it ever since.
oh my fucking god, another "Clone"..boomp boomp wacka wacka boomp wack wack smash smash...god i had to push cigarette butts in my ears, fucking terrible, yeah yeah yeah...another bozo wasting his own talent to someone else's recording..gee fucking whiz, there is only one Niel Peart, serious dude, start you own band and record your own style, not trying to copy someone else's drumming, you might as well be masturbating with a cheeze grater, cuz if it's not your own music, no one gives a shit.
i was very critical of your "sober" cover as i didn't feel you were geared to cover a Carey song, but i have to say, i'm digging you doing a Peart song. a drummer of his caliber is dangerous ground and you've done a great job on this song, good job man
@whitestpersian I really haven't had much opportunity to study Danny Carey as the cover bands that I have been in haven't wanted to cover any Tool songs. I'm now in an all-original band and learning/borrowing some of Danny Carey's licks would probably be time well spent. Thanks for the comments.
I swear I don't know the person that wrote this, nor did I bribe them in any way.
Thanks for the positive feedback! Any idea how to get rid of the people on here who have nothing constructive to say and feel compelled to bash everyone?
you play with your toms inverted from right to left and then reach to your floor tom on the right ....is that hard for you or just a custom to it now
I'm very used to it at this point. Having to reach further on a fast tom roll adds a little more visual zip for the audience. What I sacrifice in efficiency is outweighted by the visual element.
I do this for several reasons; 1) I like my toms low and flat. With the largest tom over the bass drum (in a normal setup) it forces you to have all of your toms elevated. 2) I do alot more live than recording work. Having the toms low lets the audience see my hands. This is far more interesting to the view than the usual setup where you can only see the drummer's head. 3) I'm trying to avoid repetitive motion injuries. I change my kit every 3 years to make sure that I don't wear something out.
man you are awesome! i just watched your sober cover, are you serious man?!?! your frickin awesome! keep posting vids, ill tell people about you, and sooner or later youll be one of the best known drummers on youtube, keep rockin man
ur good man i wish i could play this song all i can play by rush is the trees and Tom sawyer tom sawyer my favorite out of the all the songs i can paly
Thanks for the compliment! The good news is that you probably don't need a new snare. In these videos I am using a very unremarkable old Tama RoyalStar Chrome over steel 5 1/2 x 14. I'm using an Evans Power Center Reverse Dot Head with a tab of moon gel. Other than that, I follow Bob Gatzen's advice on drum tuning. I've found that with new heads and proper tuning, I've been able to get good tone out of some pretty crummy drums.
I love those small enhancements.nice cover

This is honestly the best Limelight Drum Cover on YouTube. Ken Kreis plays spot on and adds in his own twist. His playing is literally flawless.

Oh hey, thanks for replying!
I'm not sure how to get rid of them. I get a lot of people like that on my videos. Typical YouTubers.

There should be an option on the comment they wrote to block the user.

@vidassoc Oh, hey, didn't realize you responded to my comment, haha.
Don't worry on those people who feel they're so tough just because they're on the internet. We'll never get rid of them, sadly.
