Gostei do video, parabens
Hi Lirax, The problem in Japan is despite the immense popularity of the song and the alleged tons of money it is making, it is still advertised as "author unknown". There are at least two books on it in Japan that don't even hint at there is an author. They took English lyrics without giving the smallest credit to the original writer and copyrighted their own translation. The still relative cultural isolation of Japan might work to their favor, but it still doesn't make it right.
@zamyrabyrd Do you read Japanese? What a surprise. I learnt from book review that original lyrics in English was written by a lady, trying to consolate her friend. I really need to read the book. I will do so when I come back to Japan next week from Hong Kong.
Mary E Frye wrote the poem (the original is considerably softer in tone) in 1932 to comfort a friend who lost her mother and could not visit the gravesite in Germany.

Hi, I appreciate your comment. Actually, I was not able to find author's name for English lyrics from Japanese information site.
Mr. Man Arai should have made research on it, before he brought his Japanese translation into public....

Thank you. I would be trying to play some Japanese songs, too.

That's great you have a creative mind.
My music is nothing noble, just I can't play complicated notes. Any way, my dog sleeps well with my lyre sounds:-)

Thank you. This instrument is called lyre.
Your Sanshin version by Okinawa dialect sounds fantastic.
