I was worried that they were gonna screw this movie up but it seems from the trailer they really captured the spirit of the games! And the action looks just fine, this is propably not gonna be very dark but then "The Sands of time" wasn't all that dark either, it was "Warrior Within" which was about the inner darkness of the prince and all that.

Eh.. I'm not sure what to make of this... The whole game revolved around a more basic story that was a tad more original, as the mess had been created by the main character, while this seems to be more of a typical story that's a bit less basic. The prince and girl don't really seem to have quite the amusing dialogue or charm the game provided. This looks like another movie with nothing new, but I like the game trilogy quite a lot and so I'm hoping it'll have the charm and characters of the game

It's too bad. Certainly in this case since there is a huge movie-industry in the region, with decent actors. Same with DBZ. But smoothly produced means a white guy, most of times. Apart from some of the most succesfull black actors (W. Smith, Denzel, S.L. Jackson), the main character in a Hollywood production will never be none-Caucasian. Ok, also some Asians, but only in martial arts movies.

For the Korean and Japanese I was talking about the DBZ-movie. As for the Indian, a major group of Indians look like Persians (f.e. You got Persians with all kinds of faces. Same with Indians. India is more in the region then the US or Canada. I names the Indian actors, because they are better for a major production as they have a big movie. Iran doesn't have that, nor are there Iranian actors that are familiar with this way of working.
It's like why the Dutch actors who work in Holland would also not be able to work in a certain environment. Without real major movie industry experience, you will fail.

I think us die hard PoP fans will be quite pleased. I was unsure of the name thing, only because it added to the mystery of the Prince. But that doesn't really bother me. I just hope it follows the plot. But this looks so fucking amazing. Mike Newell directed Goblet of Fire, among many other titles. This will be good.
As another 'die hard' PoP fan I was a bit disappointed they didn't include Farah in the movie, but aside from that and the whole prince not being a prince thing, this trailer looks very good.
So far, I am so impressed with the way this movie looks because to me it looks fucking awesome as a video game movie it succeeds already. Most trailers tend to make us think the movie suck but for this trailer it tells us that this movie will be great and thats what makes it near great. The wall running, the dagger, the action, the supernatural elements all make it a Prince of Persia film so gamers and new comers will love!
Oh, come on, the Prince in the game didn't look like Persian either and no one complained about that because the game was so good. Jake looks more Persian than the Prince in the game and everyone complains.

This looks like another movie with nothing new, but I like the game trilogy quite a lot and so I'm hoping it'll have the charm and characters of the game

plus i liked him in donnie darko, but then he's been lousy in everything else starting with brokeback mountain. and i'm not just saying that because i'm human, er, i mean straight... i'm saying it because he's as good an actor as paul walker, josh hartnett, tyrese gibson, or taye diggs.

21% of Irans population now has red hair even.
Southern Iranians are usually very tan, or brown/black, Easterns are tan, westerns are tan, Northern Iranians are very pale white.

All Iranians are white... If you were living in Iran you would darken as well, the sun is too hott in those areas, the only places you see white people who have not been darkend by the sun is Norther Iran because it is much colder and the sun isn't so agressive over there.

It's too bad. Certainly in this case since there is a huge movie-industry in the region, with decent actors. Same with DBZ. But smoothly produced means a white guy, most of times. Apart from some of the most succesfull black actors (W. Smith, Denzel, S.L. Jackson), the main character in a Hollywood production will never be none-Caucasian. Ok, also some Asians, but only in martial arts movies.
I really would've liked to see a Japanese, Korean of Indian actor in resp. DBZ or PoP.

For the Korean and Japanese I was talking about the DBZ-movie. As for the Indian, a major group of Indians look like Persians (f.e. John Abraham (actually the only Indian actor I know, be from his looks, he would fit)), logically since it's roughly the same region in the world. Certainly more than caucasian.
But you didn;t understand my post. I just meant by naming the other races that Hollywood in 99% of times will take a white guy. Even if the character/role isn't white.

And it has support for closure to India, since his love, Farah is the Maharadja's daughter. Correct me if I'm wrong, but 'Maharadja'. Isn't that an Indian Royalty?

kenjuma- In Persia or Iran you will find many faces. Its a unique country with many races and shades. If you can't travel then surf and gain some knowledge. And since when Hollywood does history? There is no accuracy in anything they do, its all sound effect and animation as the audience are probably going to be people just interested in rubbish. As for history many Aryan races look for their roots in Persia not India. I am of course referring to those that are historically literate.

I'm just saying that an Indian actor would be a better choice, ethnically (the difference between an Indian and Persian is less than a Persian and a Caucasian). But the Persians don't have a decent movie-industry, therefore I suggested an India actor. Abut the Aryan race and India, you're very wrong. The Aryans from the Asian region are not the same people f.e. the nazi's were talking about.

Firstly you are wrong about Persian movies. I suggest you do some research. Some are among the best. Of course we are not talking Hollywood / Ballywood (fast food style) production.
Secondly, Nazi's idea of race is completely different to what I am talking about which is stating the fact without placing any value on this race in comparison to any other.

You got Persians with all kinds of faces. Same with Indians. India is more in the region then the US or Canada. I names the Indian actors, because they are better for a major production as they have a big movie. Iran doesn't have that, nor are there Iranian actors that are familiar with this way of working.
It's like why the Dutch actors who work in Holland would also not be able to work in a certain environment. Without real major movie industry experience, you will fail.

@Abduhi : u forgot to tell some of those actors u mentioned are Turkish Ethnic Iranian; the world knows little about ethnic diversity of Iran: it has 40% Azeri-Turkish enthicity+ 7 to 10% Kurdish and only slightly more than 40% Persian. Iran is a diverse country but ruled like mideval times so every voice is suffocated

I think us die hard PoP fans will be quite pleased. I was unsure of the name thing, only because it added to the mystery of the Prince. But that doesn't really bother me. I just hope it follows the plot. But this looks so fucking amazing. Mike Newell directed Goblet of Fire, among many other titles. This will be good.

As another 'die hard' PoP fan I was a bit disappointed they didn't include Farah in the movie, but aside from that and the whole prince not being a prince thing, this trailer looks very good.

So far, I am so impressed with the way this movie looks because to me it looks fucking awesome as a video game movie it succeeds already. Most trailers tend to make us think the movie suck but for this trailer it tells us that this movie will be great and thats what makes it near great. The wall running, the dagger, the action, the supernatural elements all make it a Prince of Persia film so gamers and new comers will love!

Come on, he is not a bad actor but that doesn't mean he is good either, I believe he is not the right person to perform the role, the only thing he got from The Prince are the blue eyes for where have you seen a blonde Persian? I will watch the movie but only because the game was kick ass, in all its versions
