  • There goes the world's prettiest giraffe...

  • Amazing

  • I started ballet at 14 and took three classes a week with girls ages 8-11. Now, at 15, I'm starting pointe in just a few months. Don't think, just dance!

  • This inspires me so much! I started when I was 13, an it's been difficult keeping up with everyone who started at a younger age. I've gone through a lot of disappointments regarding dance, and people have told me I'll never be that good because I started so late. But I love ballet, and I keep trying my hardest, no matter what!

  • Thanks for showing this story. You guys are a really awesome dance school. The fact that you believe in everyone's potential and seem to have fun and just enjoy yourselves...I think it's that kind of attitude that is letting you produce such wonderful, happy dancers. The overly competitive, harsh, elitist attitude some schools have will *not* send them to the top.

  • OMG I started ballet in high school and I thought that I could never become a ballet dancer this just gave me sooooooooooooool much hope!!!!!!!

  • She is my inspiration! Im 15 and I hope to start ballet this summer! And I even found a place with teen/adult classes! Lol.

  • I am 14 almost 15 and started last march. I started in a class with girls my age who had their turns and everything, and I couldn't do anything. I was horrible. I told my teacher I didn't want any special treatment to throw me right in and she did. And now, here I am doing 15 fouettés and 6 pirouettes and am in the second highest class at my ballet studio. Every spring we have company auditions(around late April early may) last year I had been in two months an made it. It makes me so happy I co

  • Before I watched this video I was like depressed because I'm 16 and with 8 I wasn't admited in a ballet school because I was too old. Now I've heared she entered while she was in college, I'm really happy. I never felt this way for any sport, I feel a liitle jealous, every thing must be said :) Thanks, you gave me inspiration.

  • "What was it like when I started pointe??? It was like a giraffe!!!"

  • Okay I'm defo starting now! :)

  • omg my names Vanessa too :) xDDDD omg yay lol xD

  • So after seeing Vanessa's video, I was 15 years old and trying to decide if I should even bother with Dance, considering I was so old I figured there was no point in trying. I was 15 and in the ballet basics class with 8-12 year olds. I'm going to be 17 in January and I'm in the intermediate-advanced ballet class. If you truly love it and work hard, anyone can do it! Thank you Vanessa for showing me this. <3

  • Thank you vanessa, i could say you are the person who motivated me most to start ballet at 16! :)

  • what age is she now ?:o

  • Awesome ,how old was she when she started pointe????

  • okay, my name is vanessa and im 12 and i always wanted to dance ballet.

I see all these girls and i thought i was too old, but not anymore thanks to this videp...... This is amazing.. this inspired me :')

  • So funny how when I clicked the video I assumed that the first thing out of her mouth would be ¨I started taking ballet when I was 3 years old¨ and she says she started in college. I also started taking classes my Freshman year (last year) and seeing someone this awesome gives me so much hope.

  • shes so lovely :) keep it up vanessa :) x

  • She's so right., people who start late can also be professionals!! Just look at Bill Hastings. He started at age 23, and became one of the best jazz, broadway and contemporary dancers OF ALL TIME.

  • lool hab was geiles entdeckt haha

  • I didn't start ballet til i was 19. Yes it'll be a lot of hard work, but definately worth it all. :)

  • @dadanceRJdance erm hi, can i ask you, if we attended adult ballet classes do we have exams like the grade 1 and 2s and so on too? are they any levels to grade? thanks cos i want to start it too! :)

  • geil ich hab was unanständiges entdeckt

  • inspiration

  • This girl inspired me to become a dance major :]

  • its likea giraffffeee.

    love her

  • nicley shaved armpits..

  • did she have any other dance or gymnastics training before college???

  • I feel a lot like that. All my life I have wanted to dance but was stuck doing Tae Kwon Do and eventually some gymnastics. Finally, after 6 years of martial arts and about 2 of gymnastics (with several injuries), I am dancing. Ballet mainly but I do take other dances. At times I feel like my mental and emotional- as well as physical- strings are about to snap. However, I hope it'll all be worth it! Thanks for the video! It was really inspiring in the time I needed inspiration most! I am 16 1/2.

  • how old is she now?

  • I just got the Lumina Russian pointe shoes could somebody give me an advice if you know them ?

  • She is very Beautiful !!!

  • Has anybody ever seen "Ice Princess"?

yeahh, i want to be the ice princess of ballet :(

  • I love Vanessa! shes so great, she has an amazing personalty

  • I'm 11 years old and ever since I started watching dance themed movies I've wanted to dance again. (I took classes at age 4 or 5 for about a year) my mom says that I'm to old to start dancing so I'm going to show her this video :)

  • i´m going to start with ballet in december this year when i´m 17

for me, vaness is really a support becaus she shows how someone can dance althouh he started it late. thanks vanessa

  • I studied ballet when I was younger but with a lot of stuff going on in my personal life I had to give it up just a couple of months after going on pointe, I have continued to dance just haven't been taking lessons, and now about 4 years later at 18 I am about to start taking classes again, I'm actually headed to my first class tomorrow and I can't wait to put on a pair of shoes and a leotard and get back to doing what I love more than anything....dancing

  • i cant believe she started in college! shes awesome way to go :)

  • I'm 13. I started this year to do ballet class this year. Someone told me that I'm too old. Now I understand I'm not. Thanks Vanessa. You're the best!

  • The thing I love about Anaheim Ballet is that all the dancers show that they truly love ballet, and they have fun with it,

  • "oh god, its like a girraffe!" i love her. so inspiring and cute hahah

  • I really want to retake ballet now I've heard that I'm not too old - but nowhere does beginner classes in my area for teens! There's only one place that does in the whole country. :( I've still got my old pointe shoes but I'm worried I'll hurt myself if I practice at home. Any tips people??

  • She started in college!?

  • "So do it, don't hesitate, because if you hesitate, you're gonna stop yourself."

SO TRUE. I wanted to start about four years ago. But I was hesitating. And in the end I stopped myself. Throughout the four years, I was still hesitating. Every time I want to start, I end up stopping myself. Now, I'm fifteen going on sixteen and i want to start. I've signed myself up and I'm doing it for real this time. So if anyone here is hesitating, DON'T. I wasted four years.

  • @pinkprincess795 ohmy, you're the same as me!!! really i'm fifteen now and i dunno whether i should go for it! :(

  • @wondercat01234 You should try! At least give it a shot. Even if it doesn't go right, at least you can tell yourself that you gave yourself a chance. Don't wait and give yourself regrets later, thinking that you should've tried. I tried, and I've been doing ballet for five months now, and I'm fifteen too. It's been pretty good for me so far. I don't regret starting. (:

  • @pinkprincess795 thanks for the encouragement! i'll just hope for the best! may i ask which grade did you start? or a teen beginner class?

  • @wondercat01234 I'll hope for the best for you too. I started from grade 1. It's not a teen class, but there are two students two years younger than me, and one student one year younger than me. So I'm the oldest, and the younger students are from 9 to 11 years old.

  • @pinkprincess795 oh i see! thanks for telling me all these. you're so kind! :') good luck in your dance! :)

  • @wondercat01234 no prob :) Thanks and good luck to you too!

  • @pinkprincess795 hehe, hey sorry for asking so much, just one more, where do you learn it? cos i see from your channel that you're from singapore too! :D

  • @wondercat01234 OMG you're singaporean too?! Wow that's cool. I learn at The Ballet and Music Company, the branch at NEX.

  • @pinkprincess795 omg!! i was planning on learning in nex too!!!!!!! ahhhh xD but im not sure, is the studio good? people, teachers, teaching etc? im really really really sorry for asking so much, i really hope i can learn :(

  • @wondercat01234 Don't worry about it, completely don't mind answering your questions. The teacher that I have right now is a really good teacher in my opinion, because she's really experienced, and does the best for her students, she really cares that we learn as much as we can. The older students there that are my age are really nice, but the younger ones can be a little immature. The teacher is strict though, so they don't dare to cause trouble in class, but not too strict.

  • @pinkprincess795 I see! may i ask if you would want to learn till you get on point? wouldnt we be very old already? T.T

  • damn, there's a HOT ASS SEXY ASS guy at 0:44....hopefully he's not gay...that... would be a shame.

  • wen i wana c good ballet i watch anaheim cuz sum of the stuf u guys do icant find in professionals on lyk the nutcracker or black swan or anything. its really inspirin. ive been wantn to do ballet but the paycheck says otherwise so for now i jus observe

  • in america, you finished college when your like 20-21 right??

  • It seems people don't listen to what this video says, and practicly EVERY video says. That you are never too old. People still ask the question, "Am I you old?"

  • @ClairDelane you're NEVER too old! i mean, just look at vanessa's story! she didn't start until college! I'm 18 right now and i started doing ballet 3 years ago... although i'm still working to get better every day, my teacher told me i have so much potential... and i really do feel like i'm going to be amazing some day! and you will be too! and yes, a career in dance is difficult to obtain, but not impossible... work extremely hard, stretch every day, etc etc... and never give up!

  • I want to dance in the worst way...i took my first class in college as well and was really really shy because most of the females have been dancing since childhood and here i was, this 24 yr old non-traditional student with screws in her ankles...vanessa really inspires me to get back to in to it

  • God she's incredibly talented for someone who hasn't been doing it for long....

  • Im so glad I saw this video. I started ballet at 15, and I would cry at night because people told me that I was too old to even think that I could become a ballerina one day professionally. Now Im just going to work as hard as I possibly can, knowing there is still a chance for me.

  • @silkmint exactly! Nureyev started at 17, and look what he accomplished! keep it up :)

  • this makes me smile so much = ) what age did she start dancing? = )

  • She took her first dance class in college? :S

  • omg her legs are gorgeous

  • its like a giraffe!!!

  • Well said Vanessa!

  • Wow that's really inspiring. I've been taking once-a-week Ballet classes since I was 8 (45 minutes a week) but I haven't had the opportunity to really take it "seriously" and do things like go on Pointe. I thought I was too old and would never be able to go on Pointe, but now I see that's not true. I really wanna take a dance class when I go to college after watching this video

  • wow... i'm 13 and i thought i'd be too old. vanessa has truly inspired me and i must start classes!

  • omg this just made my day. i did ballet for about fiveish years when i lived in florida, but ever since i moved to georgia, i havent taken ballet. i havent really found a class that fit my schedule, and my dance teacher at school told me that if you havent started by twelve, your screwed.. that made me give up hope. now because of this vid, i am going to look for a school and start. l love it so much. this vid just gave me all the hope in the world. :) thanks vanessa!! <3

  • I just want to say this video is inspirational. I am also fifteen and have taken about two years of ballet on and off. Knowing that Vanessa started in college and is amazing gives me hope.

  • I'm a sophomore in college and just started taking up ballet for one of my classes. I danced for a tiny bit when I was 9 (not enough to get really good). I was skeptical about joining because I'm 19 going on 20, but this video motivated me to keep going =) hopefully one day I can be on pointe too!

  • @effoctober2010 I am still in middle school and my dance teacher just told me that i can start pointe! It is a very big step going on pointe.

  • @xXDenverXx1 i get cramps in my arch to if i have my foot pointed for a while especially when i go on pointe and im 13 and have been dancing since i was 2 my teachers tell me to eat alot of bananas or anything with alot of potassium

  • really inspiring

  • to see that that dream could be a reality for me with enough determination after watching your video! I really love ballet, and just need some more training to get me up to par, hopefully over time it will come and I will work hard enough and make it happen!

  • You give me such hope Vanessa! Although I started dancing at 3, I didn't start classical ballet until 13, and didn't start en pointe until15. Even then, I only took class one to two times a week and did most of my practicing at home. In college I took a few pointe classes, and a little ballet, but I majored in modern dance. I had to drop out of school after a year. I'm starting up again this coming semester but at a community college. I so badly want dance to be a big part of ballet. It's good

  • I'm totally in love with Vanessa! I really wish i had the privilege of knowing her, she seems like so much fun and is a beautiful dancer

  • I love Vanessa :d she makes me laugh! she's very inspirational and bubbly. I really want to do balleta and look like im flying, but financial costs means i cant but that doesnt stop me for just doing it for fun! :D i dont care what i look like when i dance because im just doing it for fun :D

  • I'm 14 and in a ballet 2 class lol. Thankfully, im with people who are around my age, within 3 years difference (some are even older). But as for my jazz class.... complete opposite.

  • World's Prettiest Giraffe! She is a beautiful dancer!!!

  • I've never planned on being a pro (I have a few years to decide), because my mom wants me to be a scientist. I love science, but dance makes me happy and by Vanessa saying "do it don't hesitate because if you hesitate your gonna stop yourself" makes me just want to go for it :) Vanessa is awesome for that.

  • Wow she totally just boosted my confidence! I started pointe a few months ago and i'm already 15, but it really doesn't matter how old you are to be super good like her! Thanks Vanessa!! :)

  • How long did it take her to get into the Anaheim Ballet company?? And how many years has she been dancing now? Vanessa is such an inspiration to me, I was a bit of a late starter too but I've finally caught up with the other girls my age:) And to all of you who are wanting to start, do it!! You'll never know what could happen unless you try!

  • This video was so uplifting to me. I'm 21 & I thought I was to old to start ballet. Ive always wanted to do ballet but as a child the funds weren't available for me to partake in anything outside of school.

I'm planning on going to college soon & I saw ballet was a choice on the classes to take, & my eyes lit up.

Seeing this video shows me that it can possibly be in my reach!!! Thank you

    -Rylee Nations

  • OMG a ballet dancer that looks good and her weight seems ok! i can't believe it!

  • OMG PLEASE PLEASE MOVE TO AUSTRALIA (iN BRISBANE) PLEASE PLEASE

  • Comment removed

  • So I'm 15 and I really want to start taking ballet. I love all of the Anaheim Ballet videos, but I have a question I really want answered! If Vanessa started ballet in college, then how is she dancing professionally with Anaheim Ballet already? I assumed Anaheim Ballet was more like a professional dance school..

  • How did you balance work and performances/classes? I'd love to audition for our seasonal productions but all the rehearsals are during my work hours. :(

  • I am considering taking up ballet but I have been so worried that its too late to start because im 13.....this is so inspiring!

  • @ecogreenukulele

Soo many famous ballerina's started at your age, it's not too late at all!

  • @ecogreenukulele some people start when they are 25 not me though

  • I love Vanessa! I just started ballet last month and I'm in the ballet basics class with 8-11 years old and I'm 15. I was really humiliated at first, But Vanessa really inspired me to keep working at it! Thank you Vanessa! <3

  • @jrod1195 You have just inspired me soo much! I´m 15 too and I´m starting soon! thanks :)

  • I love her too, I just started, I fell in love with it, from the start!!!

  • @jrod1195 hahahahaha! my problem is that everybody in my class is my same age but im so much taller than them and so i always stand out haha!!!!

  • @jrod1195 I am 17 and I also want to start ballet, I always have wanted to... But I just can't, I'm too scared. >:

  • @SonnyXXInvisible

Just go for it. Like Vanessa said "Don't hesitate, because if you hesitate your going to stop yourself." You'll regret it so much later if you don't go for it. Look for a studio with beginner classes for teens, if you can't find one then if your studio will allow you to be in their beginner classes with younger kids or private lessons. It gets easier as you go along and I actually made a lot of cute friendships with the girls in my beginner class.

  • I don't know... i seen some pretty giraffes. jk. she rocks

  • wow at college and you are that good?!

    you're my new idol!

  • I love Vanessa and her sense of humor :)

  • Vanessa is very inspirational to me because I thought you can never get anywhere if you start even at age eleven but I guess not! :)

  • I just got back to ballet last year, after 5 years, at 16. Until now I always had so many regrets and thought that I'm too old to really get back to shape, and I loved vanessa from all the anaheim ballet videos and kept thinking I have no chance to get to her level, but now that I know she started late it gives me so much motivation and encouragement to work hard and do my best until I am the best dancer I can be!

    Thank you Anaheim Ballet!

  • @whateverdud666 your face is too old to be doing ballet

  • Vanessa is so gorgeous. I started ballet when I went to college as well, and I've been doing it for the past 10 months. I can see a huge improvement (that i can barely believe).. How long did it take Vanessa to go on pointe?? I want to look as gorgeous :)

  • the bad thing about doing so many kinds of dance(like mau or however you spell it) is you can't focus on ballet for instance and then get on pointe faster but you do alot more in all classes. Sad but true... but the good thing is you get well rounded in all kinds of dance!!! :D

  • She's so pretty!

  • natural talent that wasn't tapped into until later in life :)

  • I know this video is old but I just wanted to say that you are my inspiration. I started taking ballet when I was fourteen and I am 15 now and going on pointe in December. And you are exactly what I had been looking for. There just aren't that many ballet dancers that were able to do this, thank you so much. You have re-inspired me to dance.

  • @this1is1lame1

i'm 14 and i've recentley re-started ballet and it's great to know that you got on pointe after like one year, i did ballet for about 5 years when i was younger but now im quite focused on getting on pointe.

i just want to know if you had to take any extra classes or anything to help you get to being on pointe so quickly ? (:

  • @JennyW410 Yeah I take ballet 6 days a week with usually three or four privates a month. I don't go to school mainly so I can focus on dance and I am working with Natalia Magnicaballi a principle dancer with Ballet Arizona. I would already be en pointe if I had taken more when I first started. (I started with just one class a week) Also I have been dancing for 11 years so that helped a little bit with my ankle strength and the nonpointe parts of ballet. I hope everything works well for you!

  • @this1is1lame1 wow thats awesome getting to work with a principle dancer !

i'm currently taking on class a week at some random ballet school but soon i'm going to a more proffesional one where im hoping to have a couple of private lessons a week and then one group one.

    thankyou for your help :D

  • @JennyW410 Yeah I am very lucky to have a mother so invested in my future.

No problem! I do recomend more than one group class however. There is nothing like working with other people. They inspire you and create a kind of competitive nature in your soul that is just not there when one is alone. It sounds like you're really on the right track though! Good luck!

  • wow vanesssa i've never thought i'd see someone else who started late i feel better about going on pointe p.s the little kids in my class are adorable so i don't care (it be so cool if you responded but hope gets you so far) -kelley

  • Comment removed

  • @heymimihey Thank you. I've decided to go for it! I found a great studio nearby, and they have an adult beginner class.

    Good luck fellow ballerina!

  • This is really inspiring about how you can begin learning at any age. I have been dreaming of learning ballet for a few years now, but my parents cant really afford it at the moment. I will keep dreaming, and maybe in a few years, i will be able to begin dancing!

  • How long she been dancing? How many years? I started when I was little then didnt dance for years...started again two years ago and Ive been en pointe for 6 months now and take 4 classes a week and practice alot!!! It can be done...

  • I'm 18, is that too late? I really want it.

  • @BayouPezant NEVER ITS TOO LATEE TO CHASE YOUR DREAMS !

  • @BayouPezant GO GIRL (or boy :P)! theres a 20 year old in my class and we're all 13 and 14, we all look up to her coz she's so determined <3

  • I actually am starting ballet at age 21! I'm so excited, I've always loved how pretty the ballerinas look on pointe! I've always wanted to dance on pointe and now I know I can! Thanks so much!!!

  • Vanessa is an inspiration. I started taking ballet classes in college last spring, and every time I didn't do things perfectly I began to despair ("I didn't start early enough," "I'll never get it right," etc.) but every time I watch this video I feel a new wave of confidence.

Yes, I'll never be perfect (much as it pains the perfectionist in me to say that) but it's still a lot of fun, and very gratifying when I see myself begin to improve. Totally worth the effort!

  • hey i know im pathetic for asking this but im 13 years old and really unflexible and i cant point my toes but i really want to do ballet :( do u think i should do it or do you think i could?? Im heavy and tall too (and not skinny!) :S that might make things harder....

    help me ! :(

  • @xXDenverXx1 I think you and a lot of other people ask the wrong question. Can you do ballet? Yes. Can you get slimmer? Yes. Can you improve your feet? Yes. If what you mean is "can I become a professional dancer?" then the answer is "probably not". But that answer would also apply to most people, even if they started young, are slim, and have good feet. Most people won't make it as professionals But everyone can dance. 13 is 3-4 years late, that's easy to make up. It's also easy to lose weight.

  • @xSugarplum yea ur kinda right about the question sorry.

Thanks so much for replying! :) I am hopeful now haha It's not that i wanted to become like professional i just wanted to be good at it, but not neccessarily a pro. :)

  • @xXDenverXx1 DO IT! I quit ballet at 7 and when i started again at 11 i regretted leaving so much! Start by doing a couple of private classes and search 'how to get flexible' on youtube, theres loads of videos :) dont worry about your weight, theres some larger girls in the higher grades at my dance school and theyre really good and dancing makes you skinnier anyway! Don't expect too much from yourself though, just enjoy it! and always remeber, DISCIPLINE AND CENTRE!! xx

  • @OMGITSEDIE thanks for answering :) Oh and I have been practicing pointing my toes! lol. Problem. When I point them (properlly) i get a cramp in the arch of my foot and it KILLS!!! I don't know what to do! Help me lol. (Again.....)

  • @xXDenverXx1 I GET THAT TOO! D: my teacher says to drink more water and work on stregnthening your feet, that should help :)

  • @OMGITSEDIE thanks for the tip

  • what's happening with vanessa?

  • I love how one of the tags is Giraffe. [:

  • I'm 21 and just decided to enroll in a ballet class at my school and i'm so so excited.

  • Vanessa's my Favourite because she is so funny and pretty (:

    Her dancing is beautifuuul :O

  • yeah age really shouldn't matter. When I went to my old school we had adults in our class and they didn't like stick out and no one judged them or anything. It was actually really cool to see someone who didn't dance when they were younger just start up it was really cool. I think it was a young lady mamybe about in her late 20s and her mom so it was cool to watch and share a barre with them

  • Wow what an inspiration!!! I started dancing in college and I'm going on pointe this fall. It's great to know that I can end up looking like you!

  • @RereeloveNY Im in the same boat as you! :D Ylnow what, if you'll go for it, I will too!

  • vanessa's my favorite dancer

  • Vanessa has so much talent! She's an inspiration to any dancer who starts late! If you start playing an instrument or a sport late, nobody tells you it's too late; with ballet i you "HAVE" to start when you're little! I started when I was twelve, and I'm dancing at the same level (if not higher) as girls who started at three. I don't say this to brag, but to encourage all dancers that you CAN start ballet at a later age. Like Vanessa says..."Do it anyway! Don't hesitate"

  • @musikfreak229 even if you're 22 and don't have the built for it? Just for fun? Nobody going to laugh? :)

  • @GwendaAndMomo You should not be dancing based on what other people think of you. And yes, you should be able to dance "just for fun". And if somebody were to laugh at that, they need to find something better to do with their time.

  • @musikfreak229 INDEED! I tell them to go put a leotard on and then get back at me! ;)

  • I'm 13 and i started a few weeks ago and i love it and im in Intermediate Foundation and im juust as good as the girls who started at 3 well thats what my teacher said.

Im learning loads of new stuff i feel more confident and i love it I've always wanted to do it for ages but never found the confidence to go. So i went and i was put in Grade 3 i did 1 class and i skipped 3 Grades! I had practiced ballet before and studied it and thats why the teacher moved me up. SO ITS NEVER TO LATE GO FOR IT!

  • im gonna strt dance (im looking in2 studios) and even tho my parents rnt rlly fond of it since "i wont have much of a future in it cas im strting so late" i rlly just wanna dance and all i rlly care about is doing my best and performing and succeeding 2 my best :)

  • I have always love the ballet but I did not have encouragement or parents to send me to school. At the age of 48 I began to take ballet! I love it, I adore it, it feeds my soul... Not you are never, ever to old!

Is it possible for someone that is in excellent shape with great feet to go on pointe at my age? I am very good at Releve in all positions...

I hope that you will respond. My dream is to dance on stage!

    Kim

  • she is such a nice person and a gerat dancer!

  • omg thank you! I've always loved ballet but haven't been in it. I never thought I could do it bc I'm 15 and didn't start at two like most girls I know. Thank you soo much. I will hopefully be signing up next week

  • Awesome! I just started ballet last year, and I'll be 20 this summer. Everything that she says is true! Don't ever be afraid of starting just because you're older.

Anaheim Ballet, you guys are amazing. I'm impressed with every video you make. Dance on!

  • Vanessa seem to have a very pleasant personality. From the videos, she laughs a lot. And easily burst into laughter.

  • I started a year ago and Vanessa helped me a lot with my confidence ago. I was fourteen and I'm about to turn sixteen, I already had a professional exam and got the highest score of my academy :)

  • @isthatmarcee Did you learn quickly? I started when I was 14 and I'm 15 now and I want to be a ballet dancer but people say I'm too old. I'm scared that I won't be good enough because I still can't get my splits and I can't do one pirouetter good. How many hours a week do you take ballet for?

  • @ocean96113 Don't stop yourself! you can be whatever you want as long as you work hard for it and believe in yourself. Right now im taking about 7 hours a week. But also, last year I went to a summer intensive for 2 weeks and I worked every single day in August 1.5 hrs everyday so I could be prepared for my exam. There are some flexibility tutorials, and as long as you work everyday, you'll get those splits! but there are also many students that are in higher grades than me (another comment

  • @ocean96113 and can't get the splits, so don't be very worried about flexibility. You need to be more concentrated in getting the right technique.

  • I WANT TO KNOW HOW OLD SHE IS PLEASE

  • This is also inspiring to me. I'm fifteen and I've wanted to dance since I was even younger, but I've not always had an opportunity. I've been told I'm very good for not having ever had lessons and seeing that she started older than me helped so much!

  • I Just started ballet last year in sep... n now i'm only grade2 and i'm 11 going to be 12 in dec... how i wish i was at least grade 4! BALLET ROCKKKKKKSSS

  • hey i havent posted in a WHILE but i started my ballet classes and i love it im still messing up but this video made me not want to give up!

  • I watched this a year ago and started ballet at the age of 14. I couldn't do it when I was younger because my family didn't have enough money. I love it still and am taking 3 classes a week next term.

  • I am 18 and have had very little good quality training. Vanessa's story gives me hope that when i finally do get the training I need that it may not be too late! =D

  • she's a tall ballerina and she has a nice figure x

  • I'm a late starter and that was so inspiring and encouraging!
