I got to explore the entire building because a family member was security for a film shoot there. Extremely creepy shit happens there. I got to explore everything from the basement janitorial/locker rooms, to the skyboxes. I wasn't a believer of the paranormal until that night.
what a damn shame, the memories are all us people have! the awesome concerts, those good old days of watching wrestling matches, yup! all gone!! were have all the good times gone? sure saw some great concerts in there!!! how can such an historic building go to shit like this? is there no shame? oh well! we all have our memories & all those bootleg concerts ay?
i'm very glad too hear that everybody should do theirs go to city hall and protest make yourselves be heard demand david miller to turn this majestic building into a skating rink or the hockey hall of fame or perhaps toronto maple leafs hall of fame where all the leafs legends and greats once skated its where darryl sittler scored his ten points in one game bill barilko scored the stanley cup winning goal these are memories you must cherish and protect and you can share with your grandchildren
Looks like they saved maple leaf gardens they are filming battle of the blades at maple leaf gardens. That's so great. Check it out on u tube. Battle of the blades at maple leaf gardens.
Loblaws can build a store around the rink, take out the seats, paint the walls with murals about the old time leafs, and leave the rink for customers to skate on or the kids to skate on while the folks shop...Could even paint the zamboni to look like a Loblaws shopping cart.
here is my idea contact your local city hall rep and demand they save and preserve this heritage building it should not be turned into a parking lot nor a supermarket perhaps a maple leafs hall of fame along with the skating rink and seats keep the seats in the building that way you can share the memories thats my idea and i"m from montreal they turned the old forum in to a movie theater and entertainment center
that would be a great idea i would support that cause it's too much a majestic building to tear down contact your local city councillor and get a petiton going and strap yourselves to the building if need be don't get rid of this building save this building
Agreed. Yeah, the HOF is nice, but with its entrance in a shopping mall, it just makes it feel you are entering some cheap tourist attraction, rather than a super important hall of fame.
why is it so difficult to save this building doesn't anybody care about maple leaf gardens if that is the case then that is truly sad because i care and i am from montreal and and when i visited toronto a couple of years back i was in tears to the shape of the building it was in decaying right before my eyes i truthfully will dread it the day they break it down its that sad i'M saddened and pissed that nobody cares about this building nobody at all if it reminds you of the ballard years so what
here are some suggestions on what to do with maple leaf gardens get a petition going or contact your local legislature representative that would be ken dryden and demand to turn this historical building in to a 5,000 -10,000 seat arena let the toronto marlies play in there or the st.micheals hockey club play in there it,S your building take control of it contact your local MNA or city hall representative AND SAVE THIS BUILDING
its not a question of having another 10 thousand seat arena its a question of saving and preserving a heritage building like the gardens once its gone its gone forever what is the matter with you doesnt anything mean to you anymore
They should keep MLG as rotating home ice for various OHL clubs, each taking a turn or two during the regular season, not to mention that's where they should play the Memorial Cup Finals every year, regardless of who's playing or where they're from. Man would people love that or what?!!!!!!!!!!!
It is really a shame that there's no cross-canada cultural fury going on about saving this shrine. I'll start one if people jump in to help organize..
You did a fantastic job on this video. I walk by the place a lot and wonder what is left inside. Unfortunately, I agree with the fellow who thinks it will be demolished. They will probably leave a facade (like they did with the old post office when the built the Air Canada Centre) and put up a 100 story condo. That is probably what Miller and Company wanted all along.
this video is amazing. how the hell did u guys get inside????????? i went a couple days after christmas, and literally checked every single door i could find, but nothing opened!!!!!!
this video brought back memmories and the gardens was and still is my second home skated in the ol barn 3 times and was the best ice i have ever skated on if they tear the gardens down they are stupid cause the gardens is hockey and i dont care what people say
Awesome video, its fantastic. A lot of the seats have gone now and i have been wondering what the gardens look like after all these years. Thanks so so much for uploading it.

Hockey, Wrestling and of course some of the greatest concerts you could imagine,

There's only one option for the Gardens: Fix em up, and move the Marlies into it. I don't care what they do with Ricoh Colliseum.
