@208Cod Depends on what you want to do with backtrack. Different tools are used for different things. You will have to learn about the individual tools. From there you can decide what tool is best for what you want to do. My 3 favorite tools are Wireshark, Kismet, and Nmap. Wireshark is a packet sniffer and network analysis tool. Kismet is a wifi scanner. Nmap is a port scanner.

Remember: You don't learn to hack, you hack to learn.

You USE Backtrack 5 to access internet and then use that if you want. ( crack some WEP WiFi )

@PhaFreTv You could brute force it, and if you are lucky their password might be 'a123'. If they use longer passwords it will take longer to do that or might even be impossible to do that with a normal pc. Search google how to crack wpa and wpa2, a lot of information out their about how it works and how you could crack it and why it might not work.

i installed metasploit in a clean windows 7 starter N. i did everything you need to do to install armitage and metaploit. when load armitage and press Start MSF i get the error java.net connectionexeption: connection refused: conect. and i get a red loading bar that goes slow... and when is't done it closes.
