This made me cry like a baby.. I've had guardianship of my daughter since she was 2 months now that she's almost 2.. her mom wants her back.. but I want her for me.. but if not she can love us both
This is my favorite movie in the world. This movie was made before my youngest was born and died from cancer 2004 at age 22 months. I knew the value of life and a that it was not the quantity but the quality of the years.
@gosipgirlie I am that girl n even when I was just a teenager I cried at this movie now ten yrs later I cry even harder it's not easy n I don't even have a stepmom :(
This is the best scene of the entire movie! I can't help but cry every time! even when I go from just the beginging of the scene not watching all the other parts. I can't help but imaging me as the girl losing her mother. and my mom not being there on my wedding day.
My mom was very sick when I got married. But for a few hours, she smiled, and was extremely happy, even though she was in a lot of pain. I am so blessed and thankful that my mom saw me get married. I'm so lucky that I had a wonderful mom like her..
perfect acting, great picturing and the sound track was the spicy,,,,,,,,,, i'm touched and will be mad if this movie didn't wing and Oscar specialy the acting
"My fear is that she'll be thinking, I wish my mom was here." "And mine is that she won't." That dialogue gets me every single time. How can you not choke up at something like that? I could really sense Jackie's fear that her daughter would eventually forget about her...a terrifying thought for a mother who knows she will not be around to see her kids grow up. This was really a great movie.
@jecka1982 Anna shouldn't WANT to get married after all she's been through. I can't believe her mom talked about her falling in love and having babies.

"You know every story, every wound, every memory, their whole lives happiness is wrapped up in you" so sad...the ending always gets me too, and when the boy says "no body's loved you like i do" =(
I love when she says "She does not have to choose, she can have us both," a child would grow up so much healthier because he has unconditional love from both sides.
Boy! There is much to learn from that ending scene, specially for those that are struggling with parents that have moved on and are remarried, etc. In the end its the child that is left in the middle of feuding people. Its made into a competition rather than having two unique individuals loving the child.
I hate the fact that many of people I know haven't seen this movie. HATE it. Gotta rent it and make them watch this someday. My duty.
This was the first grown up movie I ever saw in a movie theatre and even as a 7 year old l loved it and cried my eyes out at the last scene. Now when I'm older I appreciate it even more.
i remember once stayin up until 1am on a skool nyt watchin this movie just 2 c this scene n my mum literelly walked in this very moment n started yappin on....i couldn't 4give her since den 4 dat...she buzzed me offf sooo bad! Luv it!

this is probably the most under-rated scene in a movie ever.
I haven't seen the movie in almost 10 years and I still remember all of the lines of the scene - so powerful and moving.
