  • Very nice tutorial. It helped me a lot. Thanks for the upload and keep up the awosome job.

  • I saw all the cool GPUs on Newegg, they look badass but I live in the UK, so I use eBuyer.

  • newegg <3

im gonna watch this whole tutorial just to figure out what the cache in a hard drive does :P

    hopefully you put it in!

and i love how you think exactly like me! we both say you should customize your pc :D

  • Cache does what cache always does. It has frequently accessed data stored in it for improved read/write performance.

  • @Arm4g3dd0nX ahh i see thanks for clearing that question up

  • Does Newegg send parts to Europe?

  • *shrug*

  • @Arm4g3dd0nX What about Australia?

  • Cmon dude. It's pretty easy to find out I live in the US. Why is it my responsibility to know what websites ship to YOUR country?!

  • unfortunately no :(

  • no... :'( *Col* Cryin' out loud

  • Thanks for the tutorial.

  • what if u live in england

  • like me!

  • I would also sujest reading at least some of the reviews, and look at the percentages of the egg ratings, just to see what some people had problems with and see if the board has any other issues. Just as a precaution.

  • Damn... I just had my confirmation (search "confirmation" on Wikipedia) and got, like, 8k $ ( I have about 7k $ now ). I would like to use up to about 2,5k $ on building an awesome comp that would last at least for a couple of years, but my parents are in control of my economy -___- Anyway, good vid, thanks for tipping me about newegg ;)

I'll just get some work and buy me that comp when I get older and control my own economy! ;D

  • That's 7k$ that I got, and I have 'bout 6$k, sorry for the misspelling, though I don't think that anyone of you will care...

  • i have a badass comp (the parts selected, not bought yet) imma buy. did what arm did. mine is sitting at $2,054, even with all the acessories i added. its got a core 2 quad 2.8GHz, Radeon HD 5870 1Gb, and 8 Gb of RAM. lol. plus a bunch of other shit i prolly dont need, and the grand total is still $2,054.

  • Why do you say that? O_o

  • No I am sorry, I should not have said that, I feel bad for saying that.

i do disagree on some of the ways you go about choosing hardware, but that is all based on opinion, sorry for my previous comment, I will remove it.

i Watched some of your lets play videos and if you narrated them a bit more they would be better but still watch them.

    Again, sorry.

  • what does it mean on a motherboard if it says:

"Supports AMD PCs with a 140 watt requirement"

  • I think that means that it can't handle a CPU chip that requires more wattage than 140.

  • hey im just curios wat kind would u recommend for me ? cause iam looking for an fast gameplay/memorey graphics ect.

  • Four words and an emoticon...

    Liquid nitrogen cooled system. O_o

  • lol...really?

  • You never said you had a budget to go by. O_o

  • oh whoops i meant to put 1000$

  • You could probably afford a AMD Phenom II X4 955 with a GTX 260 for $1000.

  • oo thx quad or not?

  • X4 = quad.

  • oh LOL

  • whats that motherboard thats 60 bucks in the video? can u give me the link in pm?

    Thank you!!!!!

  • This video is over 7 months old. They probably don't sell that motherboard anymore.

  • thanks! most excellent video! i was always interested in building one, but never really knew all the basics. about how much would a computer like that cost?

  • Back when I just made this video, about $900. By now you can get one about twice as powerful as that, for around the same amount.

  • wow its like another language...I don't understand computers at all :P

  • Yeah it's sometimes good to get a basic understanding of the "drive train" of a computer.

The motherboard is what everything plugs into. The CPU does all the computations. The hard drive stores data like documents and saved games. Memory is a faster version of a hard drive that holds frequently used data. Video card handles showing that data to the screen. Power supply gives juice to all those parts. Case protects and contains all that.

  • thank you. a massive help once again :D

  • Actualy arm, memory is RAM or random access memory which is what gives your computer the ability to think. without it your computer wouldnt run.

  • is Socket AM3 better ?

also can i order parts and send them in europe

  • Well hrmm. AM3 is technicaly better, but you should focus on motherboards versus cpu chips. Just get a motherboard that is compatible with some of the best cpu chips, its generally in the specifications.

  • ok so if i did this (i need a job in the next few months, almost 16). Could you guesstimate, how much i would pay, to make a good gaming computer and possibly record them

  • $900-$1200 probably...

Depends what you want to be able to do.

  • well a computer that i can do games on (like fallout 3 =D) but yet be good on the internet. I dont want a comp. where it takes all your memory for a game and then your computer is slow as crud. That happened on my really old computer, but i guess it didn't help that i had dial-up back then, o and btw are they hard to put together, im pretty computerily inclined, but i can get help from my friends if they are super complitcated

  • If you want a game that can handle running and recording Fallout 3, that's fairly simple. You could do that for $550. However, it won't be a powerhouse PC that will be able to handle anything that comes out in the future for a few years. It IS however highly upgradable.

It might be better to think about things like. I want this PC to be able to play and record games that will be created in 1-2 years.

  • that is sooo weird me too. ure turning 16

  • ahhh ok thanks arm, i hope i can do something with my old comp because it got screwed up im gonna try to restart the whole entire computer and not have to buy one =)

  • Could I mix lets say, 2x1GB Corsair Memory (Both The same) and then 2x1GB Crucial Memory (Both the same) ?

  • Sure as long as both varieties are the right hertz. Also try to make sure that the dual channel setup is done within the same brand.

  • Ah, I have PC2-6400 800Mhz Corsair(2x1GB) in slot-1 and slot-2, but on CPU-Z it says they are working SINGLE-CHANNEL...I'm not sure why.

I was thinking about buying 2x1GB OCZ Titanium PC2-6400 800Mhz RAM, and have that Dual Channel aswell, right?

  • Dual Channel-ness has to do with putting dual channel memory in the right slots. If they aren't they can't dual channel.

  • have to make sure it is the right frequency indeed, those little ram can get Pretty damn frickin HOT if they are not the good frequency and that in no time , i think 15 second after you boot the PC with bad ram frequency you can see the Hotness of the ram trying to melt itself in the case lol

Happned to me one day , i totally freaked out, totally !

  • my bro just refurbished/upgraded his computer and costed a thousand dollors. his comp he had was 9 years old mines only almost 1 i got it on the end of janurary this year, and it only had a memory storage of 4 Gb now his memory is 242Gb but his insatalled so many things on it its droped to 104 lol he got that intel mother board if i remember correctly and i got the shiteast hardrive and that for money anmdnow i have only 3.5 Gb left IN FREE SPACE FROM 72 and that's fraps vids u hacnt deleted.

  • I appreciate the one period and one comma you put down there, but I still don't know what it is your trying to convey.

  • ok ill just shit up

  • Wait, my bad! TWOOOO periods!

    - - - last thing what about fans you dident say anyhting about fans

    - - Arm4g3dd0nX

    - - - I also didn't talk about my preferred type of handscrews for the back of the case! OH NOES!

    - - GearsTony

    - - - Don't mean to butt in but 100% definitely

  • chefvader1

    - what if we arent useing vista cuz i want an xp not vista

    - - Arm4g3dd0nX

    - - - Then don't worry if a part doesn't say it's Vista Certified. Then again, someday you might want to upgrade to Vista. I prefer it after I did some registry manipulation and fixed some things. - - - Oh god, that sounds like another tutorial doesn't it...

    - - - Maybe later... >_>

  • giantrobotchicken - wow this is actually a really good idea. - thanx for making it cuz my computers bad. - very - very - bad Arm4g3dd0nX - Holy **** the zooming works good even when in normal quality. I was a little worried you guys wouldn't be able to see the text but it's great! - - giantrobotchicken - - - yes yes yes quickbrownf0x - Excellent video. Very helpful especially because I'm in a process of building a new PC. Thanks a lot.
  • whats crossfire?

  • Twin video cards.

  • Twin ATI graphics cards to be exact. SLI would be twin nVidia cards.

  • I've had my custom built computer for 5 years now, cause of my mobo (AGP Slots only) i can't upgrade anymore, and PCI cards are actually cheaper =D I will build another computer soon - Btw isn't 700 watts powersupply a bit too much?! Another advantage to go with intel. Anyhow your videos are addictive!

  • A 400-500 watt power supply would be fine unless you want twin video cards and 4 harddrives. And that's true for Intel as well.
