Your right. After I got back from my trip, I never want to surf SoCal again. Ever since late 1999, when the economy really died, the upper class 1/3 hold off of SoCal and wait for travel vacation. The lower 1/3 has dropped out, too costly and too crowded to make it worth the costs. The good news is that only 1/3 of the potential surf crowd is there left, keeping the crowd minimal but still more crowded than anywhere else. And it just so happens that anywhere else has good shape waves that last.

the wave actually starts about 2km before this first frame of this video. it takes about 45mins to walk out all the way to the point and you can surf all the way in but only on a really good day. and it doesnt close out as much before this section in fact the part of the wave that is fastest and closes out most is the part being filmed. it is the worlds second longest left the longest surfable left is in mexico.
