  • i like they get tucked in with a blankie in the carriage very cute haha

  • When did this visit took place?

  • @MrPeterMichael Well the war started in 1914 and Edward VII died in 1910 so somewhere bettween them four years sorry I cant be more specsific

  • @thebritish25 King George V & Queen Mary were in Berlin for the 1913 wedding of Princess Viktoria Luise with Prince Ernst August of Hanover, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg. I wonder if this video is from that visit or from a proper State Visit from The King & Queen to Emperor Wilhelm II & Empress Auguste Viktoria... Thanks for replying.

  • Today, no coaches, no kings, no emperors and no pittoresque surroundings in Berlin anymore...instead, we have the dubious pleasure to watch a ragged ex-Stasi-agent (Merkel) in a concrete desert (Potsdamer Platz).

    "Sic transit gloria mundi"

  • King George the Fifth and Kaiser Wilhelm the Second were first COUSINS!.

  • @UnleashedKane so was Tsar Nicolas II of Russia while the King of Greece was the borther in law of Whilhelm.

Foxy Ferdinand of Bulgaria was of Prussian dessent and Im sure there is much more.

But from the end of the Roman Empire to the end of the first world war when the world was ruled by monarchies everyone was everyone eles brother cousin father mouther uncle auntie etc

  • @UnleashedKane And according to history book - the Kaiser was Victoria's favourite grandson and he was at Osborne House when she died with his arm around her.

  • He WAS the King Emperor, and as such he was the King of England. He was also the King of Scotland and Ireland, hence the "United Kingdom" (Wales was and is a principality not a kingdom). In addition he was the King of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc etc.

  • Scottish people love the royal family as much as English people. I am Scottish and im proud to call myself British. the uk is a bit like Germany its a country made up of smaller states like Prussia,Bavaria etc..the brits have scotland england wales and n:irland

  • Thank you for posting this video.

  • Beacuse its only England that "enjoys" being British, the scots are always claiming "we're scottish, NOT british" we all know about Irish indepenance don't we. We refer to Britain as England, as England is the largest part of the UK, and to be frank, the most importnant part. a Fair statement.

  • its the same the kaiser, he was king of prussia and empror of the german empier, the queen is queen of england and queen of the british empier.

  • @ThomasSmithThomas You on the island of Great Britiain your british

  • Fascinating film but King George is NOT the KIng of England. He's the BRITISH king. Its insulting to Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish - who all together make up the United Kingdom - and who give their loyalty to the British monarch.

Why do so many people - particularly people from the USA - find this concept so difficult to grasp??

  • Dear rightmoment , often I need to put the titles short as possible so they can enter. However in the world it is customary to say "the king of England" simply. So they say in all media E.G in fren say only le roy/reine d'Inglaterrre, not the "roy du royome uni ou de la Grande Bretagne", idem in spanish etc.

  • @storicus What is the name of the march?

  • It´s called "Laridah-Marsch"

  • Comment removed

  • outside the UK the queen is known as the queen of england even though her majesty is also the queen of australia, new zealand, bermuda and many other territories. History or not, the British and English monarchy are one and the same.

  • One wonders why so many people seem incapable of grasping the concept of four separate elements in one nation. Not only is it insulting to Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish to call their Queen ' Queen of England' it undermines the British monarchy's most important function - to be the symbol of unity of the United Kingdom.

  • @rightmoment To answer your question, we are often taught over here that the Monarch's are Kings or Queens OF...... We mean no offense. We have learned a lot since we finally found the internet.

  • @rightmoment George was also the King of England mate! England is a realm of the United Kingdom, but one must remember that the acts of Union did not replace the English throne, but rather amalgamated further constituencies into the Crown. Additionally, England is and has been the paramount state in Britain for quite some time; it is not insulting to Scots, Irish, and Welsh, who really do owe allegiance to the English Crown, because the Crown of England is the Crown of the United Kingdom.

  • @DasKammergericht

There is no such title as King of England. It has not legally existed since 1603. When George V was proclaimed in 1910 it was as George V, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

Furthermore, the regal union of 1603 did NOT amalgamate further constituencies into the English crown but rather saw the Scottish monarchy take over the English with James VI of Scotland becoming James I of Great Britain.

  • @rightmoment Well, technically he's also the King of England but I grasp your point. Most Americans don't have any teaching in anything near that specific on the various elements of the UK. And most of the non-english speaking world doesn't care enough to even witness the issue come up so that's why it might seem like more from the US don't grasp it. I think a great number of Scots would just assume he be specifically their monarch as they attempt to set themselves toward independent.

  • @rightmoment I know right? Same mistake with the German Monarchies, people say Emperor of Germany, but that is offense to Austrians alike, the correct title was German Emperor.
