  • I knew this movie wasn't a product of my imagination!! I kept asking and asking and people about it and also describing the movie, and people were like "dudeee WTF are you high!!! there is no such movie"

  • from 2:29 onwards till 2:40, Why is it that the Highlander's always, ALWAYS get disapproving looks? Must be the bagpipes. Except from the Grenadiers, they just snap to attention.

  • Love the Nazi's faces when they realise they're outnumbered by some museum costumes!

  • We're about time for a remake. Doubt it won't suck real bad.

  • 1:58 does anyone know what kind of armor that is? the one with the wings on the helmet and is wearing a red cape.

  • @ohhsnappbejewedxx it looks like the armor that the Nordic gods are depicted with

  • *opens door* *MEDIEVAL SLAM!!!*

  • I think I see Thierry Henry in there! #GFOP

  • It's like this spell awakened the spirits of the men who fought and died in this armor, to defend the borders of Britian once again. When they start chanting, I get shivers down my spine every time.

  • This really makes my 3/4 English Blood Race with great Pride.

  • This would've been a very disappointing scene if they'd just shot Miss Price.

  • 8:23 is way funny

  • i loved the bit where the German got smacked by the armoured fist when opened the door

  • I'm surprised there isn't a Hitler video of this somewhere. This was one of my favorite scenes (besides when she first got the bed knob to work).

  • hitler: you have failed me cowards!

    colonel: but there was armor...

  • 6:48 Now THAT'S a headache XD

  • Oh dear, oh dear. The bit where the suit of armour hits the guy over the head with his leg gets me every time . . . :D

  • And that boys and girls is how we won tha war...

  • I've watched this too many times. I need to get a life...

  • @Zarri I disagree your life sounds prity good to me

  • I remember renting the DVD and wishing a "Kingdom Hearts" game would have a level like this.

  • @dsneybuf OH GOD YESSSS! If only they went into live action films more, like they did with pirates of the caribbean... Sora vs Nazis! XD

  • @dsneybuf If they did Angela Lansbury's character would be your partner and if you complete the world Sora can do the same thing like in this scene

  • This is the greatest demonstration of movie magic I've had the pleasure of seeing aside from modern CGI wizardry, but I have to admit, this is even more creative and cool to see than CGI!

  • This scares me.

  • Treguna Mekoides>Piertotum Locomotor!

  • 2:25 what is that song?

  • @jeanclaudejunior Scottish national anthem

  • Probably one of the only disney movies i would rewatch from when i was younger, mainly because of this scene but it had so much variety in it.

  • 2:26 Cornemuse ! is the best moment of this extract :p

  • I love the german guys expression when all the other german guys are running away, and he's like wooses... and then he says the executioner and is likeee fuckk meeeee! :L

  • this scene put the moral of the story rather symbolically for all the invaders throughout history:

you set foot on england, you get fucked, simple

  • "Oh man, we are so fucked..."

  • Now that was some museum. They must had like a thousand armors in the basement or something.

  • Lol that dude with the axe

  • Now if this happened today. Total epic pwnageness.

  • This is so much better than the statues coming to life in Harry Potter, at least these guys actually made the enemy retreat a bit. Mcgonagall should've seen this video before casting her spell, lol.

  • @TeenGemini01 You know, when I first read that scene in the book, I found myself singing this chant

  • @wildste See, that proves that Angela Lansbury is better at playing a witch than Maggie Smith.

  • I'd say this is one of the greatest movie fight scenes of all time and my brother, who happens to be a marine, totally agrees with me. nazis vs armor= awesome

  • This movie IS my childhood. God bless Disney. :)

  • I absolutely love this movie, and this part is one of my favorites. My favorite part is probably the looks the empty helmets exchange with each other before they go in.

...That and the man with the glasses at 6:13, who, instead of fighting a suit of armor, fearlessly went straight up to it and started examining it and taking it apart to see how it worked. XDD

...And -- you know what, never mind. This entire scene is wonderfully hilarious I give up, I can't quote it all. <3

  • "It must be some kind of trick!" "Pretty good trick!" LOL

  • this film in general was very well done. and it makes willy wonka look like trash except for mr wilders performance in tht film there was nothing so epic about it compared to this one.

  • I have to lol at the scene at 8:27

Can you imagine being that poor guy? xD

    God, this movie was epic when I was younger and this was always my favorite I ended up getting the DVD because the VHS I used to own got eaten by my old VHR player many years ago. ><;

And personally I don't think they should ever remake this movie, its perfect the way it is <3

  • wow, 10 people must've been run out of England by suits of armour. If this was done today in CGI I wouldn't think much about it, but the way it is here, there's so many clever tricks they used to pull it off so perfectly. And kudos to the actors who preformed those parts, like th 1 legged man at 6:00

  • this, is the most badass battle in ovies everywhere XDXD

  • you knows what funny when i saw this movie as a kid i didint the guys in uniform were nazis and damn i miss this movie

  • To Arms, To Arms!! theres something about people willing to stand and fight for their land that i identify with very stromgly. sends chills down my spine.

  • It's amazing how well this scene has aged over the years, it's still quite believable despite it's age I find.

  • go back to hitler u german bastards and explain how u got ure arses kicked by empty suits of armor! >:)

  • This Is so Badass!!!!

  • This was the best scene in the movie. I remember how amazed I was when I saw this scene for the first time. It was awesome.

  • PIERTOTUM LOCOMOTOR!

  • @lordrandal90

OH MY GOD I thought I was the only one who Immedietly saw the parallel!

  • I LOVED this movie as a kid growing. Nostalgia overload!

    Thanks for uploading.

  • Angela Lansbury is the shit. This is not up for debate.

  • MIND BLOWN!

  • I would hate to clean up all that shit the next morning haha.

  • Seeing the armor chanting and marching always gave me goosebumps when i was young, good to see that it still does.

  • I know this is a children's film but, that is a 'fuck you' moment haha

  • 1:28 CRITICAL HIT!

Also, does this remind anyone else of the March of the Toy Soldiers from Babes in Toyland?

  • @gonotgentleman

I was thinking the same thing!

  • lol at 9:08 !

  • My god I can't count the amount of times I watched this as a kid :)

  • @Jasper8372 I did the same thing. i would just keep rewinding it over and over again

  • 10 USERS ARE NAZIS. >.>

    Otherwise how DARE you?!?!?! >:0

  • The soldiers always scared me, I'm still kinda freaked out by them but the song is catchy xD

  • hahaha back in the 70's their were nazis in a disney movie what do we have now talking dogs and fart jokes

  • i just realized it is not just british warfare but like whole of Europe!

  • 1:36 MAXIMUM FAIL

Spanish (Castille-Leon) Flag. The second counting from the left.

  • This scene always gives me chills!

  • @twitcher01 Me too, especially when they start chanting!

  • Do i see over 1000+ years of English and British warfare coming at you?

    Yes, your pretty much doomed

  • @1MagicAndMayhem1 Awesome, isn't it! I can just see them going back to Germany and telling everyone that they had to fight medieval armor. Yea right!

  • @LoreneFaith well so long as there isn't "squishy tissue" to go and get in the way of the armour :p

  • @1MagicAndMayhem1

    i would be scared shitless

  • @1MagicAndMayhem1 It's true, they used to say, "The sun never sets on the British Empire"

  • Comment removed

  • @1MagicAndMayhem1

I *love* how all those generations came together to defend their homeland. I was six when I saw this movie in a theater and this scene scared the bejeebers out of me, but I loved it.

  • someone needs to tf2 dub this!

  • And one more thing ... to all readers ... it took British, American and Soviet Power to CIVILIZE Germany and Japan once and for all. Who's next? We did it before ... Who's next? We can do it again! You see, it's not so easy after all. We may be a muddle of a people, but just don't mess with us. Full stop. (signed - leftist Yank)

  • GODS SAVE THE KING. Pretty good trick. Thank GODS we won the war. Where would we be now if not? (shivers)

  • I always liked the big when the german soldier is stuck arse first in the legs of the armor and is shouting, and the other guy watches him going past with a "What the fuck?" look on his face. Or the bit where the armor has the guy on the pike and kicking him as it walks.

  • Genuinely hilarious and so well made

  • i love this so much

  • Love the Bagpipers showing up, since at the time period all the armour's based, Scotland was at war with England so the soldiers are like "Scotland's on our side now?!"

  • even after many years later, I am still amazed :-) This was my childhood haha

  • What's the best way to get rid of Nazis?

    Animated Medieval Armor.

  • I wonder how they did those effects. I guess it's a black screen technique (the old version of blue screen and green screen). 1:41 Do these binoculars work? What did the Germans sat at the un-subbed parts? I like the part where the suits of armor start chanting the magic words. Their bullets will only slow them down. I'm surprised that Nazi got knocked out even though he wore a helmet 6:08. 6:14 Is anyone in there? 6:34 wouldn't those bullets go through that Nazi's helmet?

  • @twilightwindwaker Fired from a gun maybe, then again it is a cartoon.

  • How Harry Potter should have ended.

  • @heycrowley Actually it's how harry potter ended an army with animated statues battling wizard nazis

  • @Azrael666Azazel You got that from Chester A Bum didn't you? That's the reason why I watched this video.

  • @twilightwindwaker well i did watch his review, but i mean the death eaters are just a bunch of magical nazis and when i saw mcgonegal "sic" bring the statues to life i had this song in my head lol

  • @Azrael666Azazel

she uses the word locomotion in the spell. (or a variation of it) A callback to this film.

  • This scene always gives me the gosebumps, especially when they start the advance and start chanting. I always get that cold shower over my back when they start marching.

  • @FANGSinBLOOD I don't agree at all. It would now be done in CGI. The original is much better than any CGI and took a lot more work to do. That is what makes this a classic.

  • @LoreneFaith

Indeed. Granted... the eighth harry Potter film had one HELL of a callback to this film. Proper British Stories the both of them! *sniffle*

  • @LoreneFaith i think it would be cool to remake it just to see how bad they screw it up. the only way a remake would turn out better than this is if they copied the movie exactly but in HD and make the battle sen last a little longer.

  • @LoreneFaith Too true. As it is now, you can almost feel the weight of each step in their march.

  • @LoreneFaith

Plus, remakes/reboots always end up horrible.

  • @FANGSinBLOOD - bite your tongue!

  • @FANGSinBLOOD damn people with their remakes. leave it as it is.

  • @FANGSinBLOOD Disney Magic no need technology

  • @FANGSinBLOOD - Only downside is that movies made today, must make sense... which leaves not much room for imagination and "magic"....

  • 1:27 PWND

  • Everyone in the town will be real happy the next day except the museum curator who will be crying a river of tears over all his medieval armor now riddled with bullets.

    WONDERFUL scene. Unmatched til today!

  • @Milordvega It would be a bit of a shocker to see the condition of this historic armor after that battle. It is unmatched today! If they were to make such a scene today, it would all be cgi.

  • @LoreneFaith

I agree. Props are better than CGI when it comes to some things, this being one of them.

But, there are some scenes that can be improved with some upgrades in technology, eg; the green screen effects for the horsemen.

  • @VulpineWolf I do agree that some effects have been improved with CGI. Too many movies now though are almost all CGI.

  • @Milordvega He could repair it if he got a blacksmith.

  • Definatley one of the best scene in the entire movie

  • So this is where Professor McGonagall got the idea from in book 7...

  • @dafedux oh definitely yes but that doesn't mean that you can slack off on making the film look nice

  • An army of possessed suits of armour would be pretty invincible...until Magneto shows up. =/

  • 4:21 onwards is absolutely epic!

"Victory for England, and Saint George!"

  • 10 people are retards

  • I always thought this scene was scary, but I absolutely love the bagpipes and still do to this day!

  • I always watched this movie just for the battle, but now that I've seen real action movies, it seems like so little payoff for such a build-up. I mean, when you hear "phantom knights vs. Nazis", you have some pretty high expectations. Maybe the fight would've been better if it was "phantom knights vs. Super Science Nazis".

Still, seeing them form the battle line always gives me chills.

  • the 10 people that disliked this had no childhood!

  • I love the big axe dude he showed those germans what to be afraid of muhahahaha

  • MUST GO AND WATCH NOW!!!

  • It is because of scenes like these that I am a film major today

  • @SoraKirin They just don't make movies like this anymore. It is too much work now. Everything is CGI.

  • @LoreneFaith And most of them look like crap because of it. Exhibit A the Green Lantern Movie

  • One of the most awesome battles ever staged! x

  • Nothing more entertaining than a comical nazi retreat!

  • "Victory for England and St-Gorge!!!" I so like this scene, favorite one ever!! Like if ghost from the past could raise up to defend our land... !! <3 :D

  • @SuperCoraxo Awesome concept!

  • 2:42 there is absolutely no way all that armor was in that museum. Still does not prevent it from being the most awesome scene in the entire movie.

  • @meteormanmike So true, but it would not have not had the same effect if they had only used 10 or so armors.

  • @meteormanmike Maybe the stuff in storage came out, too?

  • "there is absolutely no way all that armor was in that museum"

Actually, there kinda is a way. Maybe all those armors didn't belong to the museum but were taken there in fear the Nazis would take them away.

  • @sidwerd1hater i think your right most of the museum's in london and the rest of the major bombing targets had most of their inventory moved so even if they were bombed (of which most were) most of their stock would survive

  • @meteormanmike It was a multi level museum. Basement, too!

  • @meteormanmike Actually if i remember correctly it was a castle transformed into a museum, so it sure could have enough space to fit all of those things inside.. or atleast half of it, but yeah it's for effect =P

  • @meteormanmike if you remember at their house they didn't just have stuff from the garage but frm the other buildings nearby also. :)

  • @meteormanmike Clearly a duplication spell was used.

  • this is great, it is my favorite Scene in the movie and I see a lot of new scenes into. I am from Germany and for the same scene we have 5 or 6 Minutes.

  • @wickiefan23 I heard that the version that has been available in Germany has been a much more censored one.

  • How was this accomplished?!?! I am seriously soooooooooooo impressed!

  • @PinkCarnationProDux

    Mastery of wires, dear friend.

  • @PinkCarnationProDux It is very impressive, especially because there was no CGI and it all looks so real!

  • @PinkCarnationProDux I have tried to find out how they did it but so far I can't find it even in the behind the scenes of the movie on the dvd did not show how they did it maybe its best to keep a secret cause its the magic of disney :)

  • @fastold It's probably a black screen technique. They used it before the blue screen and green screen days. The black screen effects were used as early as the Invisible Man.

  • Seriously, this entire thing is mindblowingly epic, but if I was a Nazi there, where I'd completely lose my shit is at 4:23 when they start chanting xD

  • This synchs up almost PERFECTLY with Ghost Love Score. Seriously, start playing it at 0:46

  • that must be one hell of an armor museum

  • @casualevils

I don't think the Royal Armory at the Tower of London and Leeds combined have such an amazing collection of armor.

  • I was talking to some kids at school, and they were talking about this stupid movie called "Extreme Movie". I told them that I don't watch crap like that, and that I'm into Pete's Dragon and Bedknobs and Broomsticks. Laughter pursued -_-" . So, I explained this movie to them. "They make suits of armor and clothes come to like, to fight Nazis!". The boys laughed and said "HEY! THIS THREE THREAD COUNT RED SHIRT IS GONNA COME TO LIFE AND KILL NAZIS!". -_-" No one appreciates classic Disney... T_T

  • @xXSunnyKimXx Sorry, misspelled. "They make suits of armor and clothes come to life*, to fight Nazis!"

  • @xXSunnyKimXx There are still a lot of us that do and a lot of young people that do. You are in good company and are just not as shallow as others your age. Stand proud!

  • @xXSunnyKimXx I do, and I have to say this movie is probably one of the most undervalued movies Disney put out while Walt was still alive. The effects in this movie are so much more...magical, if you will, than effects done in today's movies.

  • @meg1rudy Walt Disney was dead when they made this. This was made in 1971 and he died around 1966. The Jungle Book might have been one of his last movies.

  • this scene scared the shit outta me when i was a kid

  • @itsCjRemmel i always thought it was awesome

    it was my favourite scene

  • This was one of my favorite movies as a kid :)

  • You'd think the SS Ahnenerbe Occult Division would have left the Nazis better prepared to resist magically animate suits of armour, but wouldn't you know it, this was the one week that Himmler DIDN'T think up a top secret occult superweapon, dagnabbit it! But seriously, when was the last time Disney came up with something THIS awesome?

  • Oh Lord. This scene never fails to give me chills.

  • i love this movie so much <3 i still have my tape! XD

  • its such a shame that teenagers now days have no idea about this movie and other classics like Merry Poppins, The Goonies, The Land Before Time, Robin Hood, The Sword In The Stone and now they have Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Aliens In The Attic, Shorts, Fly Me To The Moon. its sad really in 20 years time this movie will be forgotten : (

  • I have to agree,

If they remake it with new technology, the film would lose all its charm.

  • @jokrol324 and it was all done without CGI!

  • does anyone know the name of the tune the pipers play on the clifftop?!

  • I watched this scene so much as a kid that I wore the tape out, glad to see it immortalized on YouTube.

I always loved the knight with the cape, hat, and hairpiece at 2:12 and 2:36

  • @kbusch22 I think it's supposed to a Spanish soldier b/c the armor behind the one w/ the cape, hat, and hairpiece is Spanish.

  • @meg1rudy It's a Cavalier from the English civil war.

  • Nine years ago, I swore to myself that Disney films are for children and only children. The sole exceptions being this film, "Mary Poppins" and both Fantasia's. They're the first Disney films I saw growing up and have a warm place in my heart.

Many thanks for uploading this, LoreneFaith. It's great for those trips down memory road, especially on nights like this when it's needed most.

  • @hobyboy07 I am glad to hear that you enjoy the videos. That is why I post them. To bring back happy memories.

  • @LoreneFaith I hope they make a better remake of this! I think it would still be cool!

  • @DaughterOfTexas1 I personally don't think that a remake would be better. It would be CGI and that just would not be the same.

  • @LoreneFaith There's no need for a remake if the original was great

  • This scene makes me feel like a kid everytime I see it :) Probably my favourite film when I was little lol

  • then there all like "who the hell brought the pipers?"

  • I love how it takes the guard almost a minute to hear the drums and horns

  • @BorathIII Well, he is german xD
