Because of you collinsfollower I'm just recently aware of "The Best in Music" and from the selections you've posted I have to concur this is Dorothy at her best. How long was this radio show on the air? Where on earth did you find audio of this program?!

I believe it was on the air in the Spring of 1958. I have a fan magazine article from a scrapbook I keep when I was in high school that mentions the show. I came into audio of that program through an acquaintance I met on the internet who worked for NBC in New York and provided me with a tape of about 12 selections...so I have about 10 more posts to do from this source. Glad you enjoyed them. I only wish she would have recorded an album of pop standards like this.

What a shame this radio show did not last longer.. but I guess by 1958 radio was out and TV was in control. As far as I know Dorothy did record a jazz/pop standards album. "Songs By Dorothy Collins" from Coral.. I believe 1955.. with The Barney Kessel Trio.
