This risky gathering technique probably began thousands of years ago as a means to avoid starvation (which is even scarier). But each time it's successful, it serves to build the self confidence required to survive. This is the kind of resourcefulness our ancestors must have had, or we wouldn't be sitting here watching this on our computers.
@MrWdh2 agree. this other documentary by honda called dreams. it explain the characteristic of a human. how there are shy, aggressive, lazy energetic etc.. make up the survival of human being. without those we wont be here today. being shy you are more aware of danger what you do and how you hide.
@MrWdh2 aggressive and brave help you find food in the most hardest time but you are easy killed by anything. so everyone in this world is not weak from this point of view. your character is what kept the human being surviving all these time.
Just remember that the video itself is fake. These are all montages for you to look at but didnt really happen that way... The story is probably true but the video itself is just so that you have something to watch.
Weird, the low tide lasts only for few minutes!? .. Half of hour. Hmmm...!? IMHO this period should last longer. AT windfinder com you can check tide for Kangiqsujuaq
@TheGasnik possibly the mussels are at the edge of the low tide mark.soon as the tide starts coming in its going to make the ice move and ,make it to dangerous possibly?
It must not be that dangerous considering they let their cameraman go last out of the seafloor and let their 5 thousand dollar camera get under there..
@PostGlacialRebound CO2 wasn't the intial cause for the heating of the ice. But there is more than one way to heat a house. There are traces of CO2 and, even worse, Methane in ice. No, however the ice is melted, how many ways it could have been happening since the 70s. Release these gases into the atmosphere you're creating more imbalances. CO2 is still least of our worries. It isn't the worse greenhouse gas, but radioactive material is not something to turn a blind eye to either. Not at all.
@PostGlacialRebound may also be good to mention we always have a Greenhouse Effect, it's just when it becomes an Enhanced Greenhouse Effect we begin to have trouble.
@PostGlacialRebound Not disputing your claim, you definitely got the CO2 part right, but I haven't heard anything about radioactivity causing warming. Please elaborate?
WOW.. these videos are amazing. We are so fortunate to live where we live that we can just go to the super market to get our meals. So fortunate to have what we have so we can afford to eat. Great videos. I am now hooked to watching these.
@TtopMusic I think they must have filmed all of that racing to get out stuff when they first went in, and then just rearranged the events in the timeline to make it look like they were running out of time
@DSRvmv111 what is scary is that you are underneath blocks of ice that could collapse on you at any moment and are trying to beat a tide that will wash you away.
One universal truth, time is the enemy of all men, if given infinite time man could accomplish all things. In time man could and has built jet engines given nothing but the world around him in its most primitive natural form, he has built all that is good and all that is evil. People envy at the super powers found in the pages of comic books, this is so narrow a perspective, we are super beings, we are gods on earth in and of ourselves. Let us act like gods and earn our title
@neocon70 You are an ass hole, you are the pagan believing in a Church that has proven through out History that they care more about money and power than God and love.
