  • strong acid

  • Her songs in german sound a bit alike.

And this should have been on Desertshore!

  • Russel Brand at 1:45

  • Thanks so much for this version of König. Nico = ICON. I review Nico's discography on my channel. Cheerio.

  • Wow. I'm impressed; this version is even better than on C.O !

  • wonderful

  • does anybody knows how she died?? please tell me

    sorry for my english

    i'm just learning

  • @underpuka She died of a brain haemorrhage in Ibiza.

  • @nothingbutmeat No, that is incorrect. Bicycle accident.

  • @ThePerchance No, I'm right. She died of a brain haemorrhage but had earlier in the day been in some sort of accident with her bike. Since no one witnessed it, no one can say for sure what happened. She was found in the road by her bike, half paralysed. Since she had had a headache before she went out I would say she was already haemorrhaging and fell off her bike when she becamed paralysed. Or maybe she fell and hit her head. In any case, the cause of death was brain haemorrhage.

  • @nothingbutmeat,

"She died in July 1988, as a result of injuries sustained in a bicycling accident."

    I would say...eh fifty fifty.

  • @ThePerchance You seem to fail to comprehend that brain haemorrhage is an injury you might sustain if you fall off your bike. I don't know where your quote is from but Wikipedia says: "Nico had a minor heart attack while riding a bicycle and hit her head as she fell. X-rays later revealed a severe cerebral hemorrhage as the cause of death" James Young says the same thing in his book, quoting Lutz Ulbrich.

  • @underpuka

    Bicycle accident.

  • @ThePerchance bicycle accident?

    ok,thak you so much!

  • @underpuka strangly as her life, she felt from a bike during a holiday in Spain and just died, doctors detrmine it was a heart attack

  • @underpuka She fell of her bycicle ....just biking around in Ibiza....a bit unheroic for such a haunting Lady ...who once asked me to write her biography !!!! but that was at least 8 years before her untimely death .... she also was a consumate Nymphomaniac ( Good !!) One of my best pals was her neigbour for many years ....in Ibiza ....( (Spain) . The Balearic islands ...

  • @lopescone thanks for the information. i didn‘t know that she was Nymphomaniac.

  • @underpuka I heard her son Ari say this: "Mother rode her bike to the pharmacist's to get pain pills, for a migraine. Since she was clean she did not like to keep any medicines in the house, so she was on her way to the market." A fall off a bicycle may produce a concussion, but it's hardly a significant enough of an accident to produce a brain hemorrhage. A hemorrhage can produce a heart attack as a result. It did not help that people did not get her medical attention. They left her there.

  • The German tracks on DESERTSHORE were what inspired me to learn the language. I consider it a life-changing record for that reason. As for CAMERA OBSCURA, I find it an appropriate swan song in several ways. "Funny Valentine" was sort of a reprise of her chanteuse-y era, but done with more ironay than a Dietrich or a Knef. The fact that the Faction was on it was an acknowledgement of her later work with bands. But Cale was also on hand. Touched on every era in a way.

  • Enigma, apatia, angoscia, trauma, gelo, devastazione psichica, solitudine. NICO I LOVE YOU.

  • I really like "Camera Obscura" but most would agree that "Marble Index" is her magnum opus. I know that "Konig" was recorded many years previously but it makes a sublime swansong.

  • intertign, is it a movei ? whos this pls ? ¡

  • It's from a French film called La Cicatrice Intérieure (The Inner Scar). The singer is Nico.

  • Wow! I'm a music snob - and a huge Nico obsessive - but I did not know this was an earlier piece. Makes sense- it's up to the standard of the masterpiece "Desertshore". Considering it's the only 'natural' song on "Camera Obscura", it makes the final tragedy complete. John Cale tried his best as producer, but there was little to work with. I recommend "Hanging Gardens" and "Chelsea Girl Live" as a final statement.

  • @winharrison I see what you mean but I never thought Camera Obscura was that bad. I wish there could have been more original songs on it and above all I wish that the live arrangements would have been different, her band really butchered them. Those songs might not live up to her earliest songs but I they're not hopeless, and better than the songs from her last concert. I'd love to hear the Camera Obscura demos, she's always at her best solo on the harmonium.

  • video egal=LIED SCHÖN & SCHAURIG

  • Wow i didnt realize this song was originally for Desertshore. Thank you.

  • You're welcome. Nearly all the songs on Desertshore were lifted from La Cicatrice Intérieure but for reasons unknown König was not included. It's a good thing it resurfaced years later and that it wasn't rearranged for Camera Obscura.

  • thanks
