Hey guys, Im not exactly sure if this still works, i cant exactly redo this to my computer.. if you know what i mean, and this does the aero theme NOT aero GLASS, just so you know. Microsoft might have patched this somehow or the people who didn't get it to work really suck at following directions...

Only downside is that the clear look only works when you open screens in the max but wit small your bottom bar goes whiter and only works a little

the theme u are using in this vid is not windows aero it is windows vista standars aero is transperancy

no im right because i did it to a basic computer and it was named windows vista standard theme aero is glass

nope, Aero is the glow effect the transparency the switch between windows ect.

Basic is the blue with red and blue buttons that don't glow and it's not transparent

Well, I don't think it would affect the graphics card that much, because it doesn't change much. it would be more on the ram.

Do you recommend that I even try to enable Aero If I only have 512 MB Ram and a Cheap Intel Graphics card?....Will it Mess Up And Overwork my computer?...I prefer not to do this if it could damage my computers meek resources...should I try it to run Aero? Is It Safe for my weak computer?

Im not so sure about your ram, but i have a cheap intel on my laptop. I suggest that you upgrade your ram (circut city will have some) and then do it. Remember this is just Aero not Aero GLASS. See i have not tried this back when i had half a gig, the first thing i did when i got my computer was upgrade the ram. Thats my 2 cents. ram is getting cheaper and cheaper so it shouldent cost maybe around 50 bucks or less depending on the brand. Good luck :d and thanks for watching my video.

I havent noticed a difference in speed but i would guess it might suck a little more ram than without it. IMO Vista on half of a gig is slow. adding two gigs, or even one, will give it a major boost. Upgrading never hurts, if you dont know what kind of ram to get, ask somone at circut city/best buy, they will be glad to help.

wen i bought my vista home premium, ultamite waz 1000$ more, im not kidding, it had the same features as my computer, just that the camera can swivle, thats it, im not gonna spend all that money on that shit, hell no, im happy with wat i have :D

Actually vista ultiamte comes with a lot more innovative features, premium doesn't cover business uses etc.

it did opposite efffecton my Vista... insted of turning to glass it made it dark balck...:(

thats cuz u have to change the settings

right click the desktop, and select personalize

then select color and appearance and change the colour

then move around the color intensity to make it more darker/more like glass

It doesn't work, i think microsoft patched vista home basic so you couldn't do that any more. Does anyone know how to do this another way(in service pack 1)

maybe its just the copy I got from eMachines Express upgrade

but that copy has the so called "aero" theme enabled by default. Not Aero glass, but just "aero"

I know it went a little fast so heres the same thing

open this directory in regedit "open HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Mic­rosoft>Windows>DWM."

composition set to 1

compositionpolicy set to 2

then open cmd as admin type net stop uxsms, then wait, then type net start uxsms. your done! please comment and rate. theres more tutorials to come.
