hear the word, believe the word, repent of your sins, confess your sins, be BAPTIZED in the name of the lord, and live faithfully all the days of your life. It's really not that hard.
What about the hidden sins, those you did not confess?
What if someone believed, but died before he got baptized? Is he going to hell?
Have you lived faithfully all the days of your life? If you can in fact live righteously, then why there's a need for Jesus?
See where I'm going with this? You're putting the burden on man instead of letting Christ doing the saving and THEN try to be obedient out of nothing by thankfulness, not in order to be saved, but because you ARE saved.
@MichaelGabrielR 1) if they didnt confess...then they were baptized for the wrong reasons.. 2) Thats not up to me idiot. It's up to God. 3) Ive tried my hardest. Ive never smoked, drank, done drugs, watched porn, cussed, etc...,and ive never missed church unless i was sick. 4) FAITH is NOTHING without WORKS. Do you have ANY idea what that means? It means you have to DO something. Baptizm is the ONLY way to become a christian. I'm sorry if you don't think so. God Bless You :)
Rather than Christ, proclaiming freedom from condemnation, I see a Pharisee that boasts of his righteousness, having nothing of worth before God, no matter how hard he tried.
Paul speaks of saving faith from God's perspective, while James speaks of a professionalism of a belief in Christ and how a man is justified/can prove his faith is real to men.
His yoke is easy and his burden is light. Do good, but let not your works stand between you and the Savior on judgment day.
FYI, the school taught me Roman Catholicism. It's remarkably similar to your view - man must preform good works, pass certain rituals and keep a certain system of laws in order to get into heaven. In fact, that is true for all religion, except Christianity, where the only requirement is to have a living faith in Jesus - you know, not that he just existed, but that you actually need him, because you're a sinner in need of forgiveness and that he died in your place for your sins?
The bible teaches that faith saves, following Jesus' teachings saves, following Jesus until the end saves, baptism saves, as well as many other things that save you. Do all of them. If the Bible told me to jump 100 times on one leg while reciting the gettysberb address backwards in order to be saved I'd do it, even though it would make no sense to me. Btw, I think its important to actively die and be raised with Jesus. Read Romans 6.
"And he came into all the country...preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins"“He who believes and is baptized will be saved““Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins”“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death,so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,we too might walk in newness of life.”"...whereunto even baptism doth also now save us...""Repent, and be baptized every one of you...for the remission of sins.."777denny
Another blind thing, Paul was talking to the church in Corinthians. They were already saved. These letters were written to People who were already saved according to Acts 2;38.
Why are people so blind. Jesus and the man on the cross lived under the age of law. We are under the church or age of grace. Study the 7 dispensations. This a waste of a video. U have to get saved according to the age u live in. There was no church at that time. If u feel that it's not necessary, then don't do it. U have free will. The bride of Christ will all have his name. People calm they love the Lord, but always fight the name Jesus. Acts 2:38 God's plan. Period.
Eph 2:8-9 has a context, as does every passage of scripture. Paul is emphasizing in the first two chapters (as he did often in his epistles) that the Jews and Gentiles are saved by a common faith (Eph 1:13; 2:13; Acts 2:39; 11:18). God decided to extend His grace in Christ's life, death, burial, and resurrection foreseeing the state of man, before the world began (Eph 1:4; 1Pet 1:20). It is for this reason that neither Jew nor Gentile could boast. No worthiness of man accounts for His grace.
@demcdoug However, His gift comes with conditions, all of which are summed up in the word "faith" ...and it takes some diligence in searching the scriptures to understand when and how to apply a SAVING faith. Many people in the world have faith and those who profess Christ are no different. However there is only ONE FAITH God established for a common salvation (Eph 4:5-6). Notice that there is but ONE BAPTISM that accomplishes unity in ONE BODY; ONE SPIRIT. Making water a "second" baptism; FALSE
@demcdoug Denying the spiritual purpose for which God commands water baptism is heresy, plain and simple. I have never seen anyone do so by making an honest and accurate appeal to the scriptures. Most arguments are based on hypothetical situations (as if God couldn't deal with these) and on the notion that "physical" work of any kind equates to "works salvation" that opposes faith. In fact, water baptism minus faith IS merely a work of man. DENYING His purposes is UN-faithfulness.
Also this video quotes 1 Cor 1:14 as a proof text that baptism is not important. Paul didn't thank God he didn't baptize because it wasn't essential for salvation, he was glad he didn't baptize people in that church because they were exalting the baptizer and not the Christ that saved them, he was worried that they would say he baptized them in his own name rather than Christ (1 Cor 1:11-15). This was an isolated issue and does not negate the importance of water baptism.
Also this video uses the thief on the cross as proof that a man was saved without baptism. There are flaws with that argument.
1) The thief could have been baptized by John the baptist since the whole nation of Israel had been baptized by him, save the Pharisees. (Matt 3:5-6). Se we don't know for sure if he had been baptized, and then later in his life stole something and now he's repenting.
2. Jesus had not yet died for sins nor did he command yet that all nations be baptized (Mark 16:16).
This video makes false statements and takes several passages out of context.
Acts 10:44. Just because the Holy Spirit fell on them first does not mean that water baptism isn't essential for salvation, in fact Peter commanded they be baptized in water (Acts 10:47-48). If you read on in the context we discover that the Holy Spirit fell on Cornelius' household "just as he began to speak the gospel" (((Acts 11:15))) The Spirit fell on them before they even heard the whole gospel and believed!
Also i realize i have typos in my last response and words are also spelled incorrectly, i wrote this fast, but if was making a public video, all spellings would be correct. I wasnt as upset about spelling as i was about spreading false biblical information that has to do with saving someones soul. People are spewing this "sinners prayer" , and its from the devil to keep you from true salvation. Acts 2:38, .1pet 3:21,. col 2, .acts 8:37, , Compare rom 10:9 with col 2 for the true meaning.
First of all, no sinner can ever be saved by the Law that is lethal to him. Secondly, until you understand God's covenant relationship you won't be able to understand baptism. It was not the rainbow that protects us from a second flood, but God made a promise. Ritual cleansing was known in the Old Testament times.
Is this is your way of thinking - a person putting his faith in Christ is still lost until a religious ceremony is preformed over him? That's no longer by faith alone.
It doesnt matter if youre a foriegner as far as acripture though. You need to read the baptism verses again, and this videon is misleading. I realize baptism is a controvercial subject, but all the devil has to do is keep you from forgiveness of sins and youre not saved.
The theif on the cross died before the new covenant was completed. He died during old covanant law, so he didnt need baptism. He was saved by the law.
Your video is in error. Dont mean to upset you, but you need baptism!!!
Have patience with me. I'm a foreigner and was doing this video quite hastily, without spell checking of any sort.
Baptism is merely an outward expression of the inward reality. If someone truly believed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was hit by a car while going to get baptized would he go to heaven or hell. If baptism is required then it is no longer by faith that we are saved, but also by works, a Roman Catholic understanding of salvation. Please think this over and take care.
@MichaelGabrielR this is my point exactly. My grandfather got saved on his death bed. He accepted Jesus then died. He is still in heaven with Jesus even though he did not get baptized. trying to tell these people this is like talking to a wall. They have no personal relationship with Jesus they don't KNOW Him. I don't even think they hear Him speak or even believe He talks and walks today..how can they if they think water will save them?
he that believeth and is baptised shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned.mark ch13.although scripture does not say he that is baptised not shall be damned.yet we should get baptised just as we should break bread as an evidence of our faith and obedience to the Lordship of Christ.again ` its not by works of righteousness that we are saved...

From the very first sentence in the video, there is a word not spelled correctly. Also some sentence structure is incorrect.
Also, reread all the verses on baptism, and also everyone saved in the book of Acts.
Baptism is a requirement of salvation.

Good point. We are not saved by works least anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-10), but our works reflect the reality of salvation within us.
