  • So I tried this but my video is still chopped up and green is showing through. It looks really static like. What should I do? I tried to adjust the intensity but that didn't work

  • @ohezgood2me Well it's your lighting that's the issue (i had that at first). Try and light it by having two to four good lights for the ideal setup-two lighting the screen behind you and two dimmer ones lighting you. I have two desk lamps for the ones lighting the screen and my room light lighting me; not perfect, but it works. If it's like a clip you MUST use cos it's really good or you cba to film again try making the whole clip a bit brighter, or more/less contrast, or a tint (fix/enhance)

  • @ohezgood2me It could also be that you have the tollerance set too low-set the intensity level a notch or two higher and try that. also, another tip is to always select the brightest part of the screen with your dabber-that gives me the best results anyway.

    Thanks, TAF

  • I'm hard of hearing.

Could you transcribe what you're doing in your description?

I can only understand every 4th word you're saying. :(

  • @mahnarch Yeah, i used a bad mic :L Essentially import your green screen video and background. put the background on track one. put the green screen footage on track two. double click the green screen footage. Tick the box 'apply chroma key'. click on the dabber icon as shown in the video, click on your greenscreen background (or whatever coulour your background is). close the dabber selection window. click ok in the modify window. Done :P

  • @TiggerAndFreinds OH! Thank you. I'm going to try this though - I'm going to try it on a blue screen since, that's what I have.

The tranx was very helpful. Thank you very much.

  • This was very helpful. Thanks!

  • do u have to have a greenscreen in order to chnge backgrounds?

  • @cobycracker sort of... You need a background of a single colour different to that of the things in the foreground. You can use a blue, green, red or whatever sheet. If the lighting is dim you could probably even use a white bed sheet :)

  • @TiggerAndFreinds thanks a lot

  • VERY VERY USEFULL thanks so much * and now i know* and knowing is half the battle GIJOE!!!!

  • This video was helpful, however, I have my own background that I'd like to use in my video. How do I do that using Sony Vegas platinum v.10? I have a jpeg of the background I want to use.

  • @Donamdavis In PD9 (or 10) you can use ANY picture you have as the background. you can even use videos in the background. I'm not completely sure how to use sony vegas (although i know you can-i did it on my mate's) but use a similar technique. There's a 'chroma key' filter or a 'green screen' filter somewhere. Google it. Shouldn't be too hard :)

  • is program free??

  • @sweetvampire67 no, it's $80 ish (£50) from memory

  • Thank you so much! i was so happy to see this. i didn't know you could green screen in cyber link I thought you could only do that in Sony Vegas!

  • OMG! i din't realise it could be so easy! :)

    thanks for the vid! =]

  • nice and straight .. cool

  • Kewl, this helped a lot.

  • can you link me the place where you got power director 9

  • Okay figured out how to put a greenscreen image onto my screen. Now I'm having trouble zooming in/out the image/ without that box cutting into the image on it's edges. How do I do that? I want to keep the image whole but it keeps slicing the frame image of the greenscreen! I can't figure out how to make it smaller so it doesn't do that.

  • @blameist TBH, i have no idea what you're saying. But here are some resizing tips: First, make sure that the immage/video that you have applyed chroma keying to (the one with the green) is in the bottom video track (usually track 2). and that the backgrournd immage is in a higher track (usually track 1). to re-size, let's say, the back ground immage click on it in the timeline then in the preveiw screen on the little resizing things in the corner (like in any programme) to be conitnnued...

  • @TiggerAndFreinds kinda reminds me of pinnacle studio 14 :) but i love this programme i bought it and i have version 10 now :)

  • @blameist ...coninuing if you want to resize the green screen immage click on it in the timeline and do the same thing in the top right preveiw box. if you want to crop an immage go to power tools and then crop video. Bear in mind that in power tools crop you cannot change the aspect ratio (you have to keep the immage in the 16:9 ratio or whatever it is you're editing in. if you want to like squeeze an immage when resizing to be continued....

  • @blameist ...continuing (3) if you want to like squeeze an immage when resizing click on it in the timeline, click on modify and when the box pops up uncheck "maintain aspect ration" then resize your image in the modify box window thingy. hope this helps, good luck :P

  • Can you please print out a response on a step by step way of doing this video greenscreen method I'm rather slow on the uptake following the video. I know I may see kind of lame but it would be really appreciated! Also do you have any other stuff available? Please provide a step by step print with your response thank you. I await your response... Again sorry for me seeming like a lame-brain!

  • @blameist i made this video ages ago and i don't think i still have it on my computer, however i can write up some bullet-point-intsructions if you want them

  • can u use other images or just the sample pics

  • @stinger600011 You can use anything, even videos. problem is, if you have any less than 4gb memory (RAM) on your computer it's really slow to edit
