98 Cobra SLP Loudmouth 1 and 2 comparison

Are those slp lm 1s and lm2s are mufflers (I mean, like flowmaster 44s), or is this a cat-back exhaust system (like flowmaster american thunder) ? By the way really nice sound. I've a 97 gt and I'd like to hear my stang like this beast of yours.

@fluboy3434 They're a cat back system. LM1 systems have race resonators, LM2 systems have race bullet mufflers.

i think it's all about preference. lm1's sound better at idle while the lm2's sound better driving (my opinion). im getting lm1's, and in the next few months when they start to annoy me i'll switch mufflers. not like they're that expensive ($150)

you should really look into some shorty headers to match your x pipe, new headers will drastically change the sound and throttle response of your cobra!

The sound from the 1 is a hell of a lot better. Its that particular hollow and raspy sound that only a mustang can make that makes me shiver every time I here it. Actually I heard one today in the neighborhood and I got up to see it.

Yeah very hard to chose from, I currently have the LM1s with offroad H and my neighbors justtttt love me(not)!. I've been pulled over numerous times but never given a ticket, just "you know this is way to loud right, right, ok well have a good day and drive safe."

you dont lose hp and tq. you gain hp, and lose a little tq since there isnt as much back pressure. but the sn95 mustang gt's have close to 300 tq stock, so they can afford to lose a little to gain some much needed hp.

its just a hollow resonator

the LM2 don't have any packing in them either, but they do have like perforated steel core or something like that to muffle the sound more

1st one is better. 2nd one is way too open and loud. You want some sort of tone. Its too raspy. you will lose horsepower if you dont restrict the backpressure a lil.
