That was amazing! You see guys? Vibrato and bends are more important than speed...Vibrato and bends are more "guitaristic", really give expression and can really make you sound unique..On the other hand fast scales and arpeggios come from violin and piano mostly, and became popular on the guitar with the Shred Boom of the 1980's..of course if you can can have that speed element in your playing too is a plus+ for you but bending and vibrato are far more important /essential.
@kossolas Thanks... I always feel like I fall in between... I'm not 'guitaristic' enough to the taste of classic blues/rock players, and not fast and technical enough for the true shredders.
@olalator I'm playing through a Zoom G9.2tt modeler. The track is from an old Total Guitar magazine, Eighty Something is the title. It's bound to be on the internet somewhere.
@wisesatyr72 Have they gone up that much? I used to have 3 M3s (just have the standard like this one now). I couldn't even get Guitar Center to take it on trade for another guitar. The most I could get for them was $350 each (around 2000).
@plinkytx Well, there's one on Ebay now, for $1850. Seems they're going up in price every year (true to the Gibson brand). If yours were in decent shape, I suppose you were ripped off at $350. They should probably have done $600-$800 at least, in those days.
@Scalibq That was the going rate for them at that time. No one wanted them. Everyone wanted Les Pauls. They were both pickguard models (one red metallic and one black, both with a tortise shell pickguard). I sold them to a collector of them in Florida. I think he filled them in and made non-pickguard models out of them (he did amazing work). He did try to buy my M3 standard for full price ($1200 list, I only paid $800 in '91 when they came out).

@Scalibq that auction has been posted for some time now. The seller doesn't know anything about that guitar. Probably why he hasn't sold it yet. He could at least take some decent pics of it. Did he get your consent to use your videos? I'd be asking for a piece of the action if he didn't. I'm not worried. I got the guitar I was after by selling them (an original Ibanez AT100, #9 out of 150 in the world), and it's worth waaaaaay more than that Gibson.
I acquired that exact guitar from my brother about a year ago and just finally figured out that it was a Gibson MIII. Its a bitch to string up, but its super easy playing and sounds great. How long have you had that thing?
It's only been in production between 1992 and 1996, so you'll have to look secondhand. I got mine off Ebay. If you keep looking on Ebay and other secondhand sites one is bound to pop up eventually. They're rare, but not THAT rare.
@Scalibq Actually the first documented production year was 1991, As I am the proud owner of said model at least that's what it came back as when I ran my serial numbers on the Gibson site.

@VJW757 'Eighty Something' is the title of the backing track. It's from Total Guitar. You can probably find it via Google.

@plinkytx FYI, I only paid around $6-700 a piece for the two M3 Deluxe models I had.

I got it about 3 years ago, I think. It's very unique, not quite an Ibanez/Jackon superstrat, but not quite a traditional Gibson either.
