Image how Ginastera reacted when three hippies showed up and played the recording of his piece. I know it blew his mind.
He was right, it is diabolical! It's cypernetic, futuristic and annihilation rolled into one. 38 years ago I drove my mom batty by pumping the ELP version through my 200 watt amp and Cerwin-Vegas. Great stoned times!
Sure is. ELP played their version for Ginastera; he knew little English and cried out "Diabolical!" at the finish. They thought that meant he didn't like it; his wife, who was more conversant in their tongue, told them that wasn't the case. He was very happy with the demonic power of their adaptation, and a quote from him was in the original Brain Salad Surgery disc.
¡Genial! Espero que lo toquen de nuevo en La Plata.

Essa música me deixa a flor da pele. Alberto Ginastera é, sem dúvida, um dos mellhores compositores latinos.

@TheEntropyEpoch Actually Ginastera allowed ELP to use the movement of his concerto and he was very excited when he heard it

@TheEntropyEpoch , @RolNoisy is right. Ginastera didn't care about the ELP version. Actually, instead of it, it's said that he really LIKED it. lol

Add guitars doubling the piano and the violins plus drummer making blasbeats to this piece and you get symphonic death metal

@cesarmalak not really, you get a shitty attempt of covering ELP, as they made the definitive version of it.

No, this is Alberto Ginastera's Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 28 (1961) 4th Movement, Toccata concertata.
ELP's version came out approximately 12 years later (1973).
