Seen him in Wichita Falls, Tx. in the early 80's and even after all the concerts I've been to, his is still my favorite. Also believe he should have already been put in the Hall of Fame. Real country music tells a story, this stuff they call country now is about as far from country as it gets.

Actually this is sometime in 1974. The whole program aired on TV a few months back and he sang "Pure Love" at the end. Pure Love was not recorded until January 1974.

This is Ronnie at the very start of his country career in 1973. It is hard to imagine after hearing this that Ronnie had spent the previous ten years as a pure R&B/Soul singer laying gigs with James Brown and Stevie Wonder!

There is no style of music this guy can't sing. Incredibly versatile and sooo underrated...
