Awww :D what a pretty boy. I have a Red-Sided Eclectus named Dante, and it's amazing what good companions these birds are! One day my hubby was feeling upset and Dante flew across the apartment to give him kisses.
Hi...Nice bird...I have been looking into getting a parrot for quite some time and really thinking the eclectus would be best for me...any advice as to care/male vs female, etc.? Thanks
@bulldog111111 i too have an eclectus parrot, and i have a male, he looks very similar to the one in the video except theres more red in his wings. form what ive been told, males are much easier to get a long with and females can be very difficult and hard to play with. and these birds require a lot of attention, i love my parrot, hes my buddy, but man if you wanna go on vacation, either take him or find someone to watch him cause hes gonna be very clingy when you get back
OMG! I have a SI ekkie named Skylar, too! How awesome is that?! I will make a video of her! Your Skylar is the bomb; gorgeous! I love his cage, too! ==^O>
Hey, I am looking for a full spectrum light for my king's cage, which I think you have. I can only find the zoomed floor lamp and it is pretty bad. That looks very well made. Where did you get it?
You should consider adopting one, try your local rescue or petfinder. There are many homeless, wonderful parrots that come trained or that would be very happy to go home with someone to love and to love them back. The fee is generally half of what you might pay for a new one.
if you dont want to be woken up in the early morning or kept up all night and your concered about the price of a parrot im not sure its for you. but if you still want it...then ill give you a tip to minimize the noise. dont keep the bird in a spare room or a room ppl are rarely in. keep the bird in either your room or the living room...somewhere wheres theres activity. this should cause the bird to be less bored and to keep a bit quiet. also never yell at it. theyll think its a game and get even
most ppl like the male bcuz its green and pretty i guess. some like the female cuz its red and blue.a parrot that can talk might cost more than one that doesnt but that also means its older and most ppl want younger one. it all depends on the person. but if i had to give you a price range i would say from $896-$1000. now $1000 is a bit pricy.if its for just the parrot alone. so try look around for something cheeper.
Eclectus roratus solomonensis normally isnt a noisy bird. the most mentally stable outta its family. but they do have VERY specific dietary needs. they can NOT be feed seeds or pelleted food, for it is very very bad for them. they are prone to fatty liver disease if not kept on a low fat diet. veggies & fruits are what they CAN eat, maybe some brown rice.
Two favorite fruits are the pomegranate and the papaya (with the seeds). ANYTHING unnaturally colored, and vitamin supplements is a bad thing with this species.
solomon island eclectus (Eclectus roratus solomonensis) are very friendly. but they are different than other birds. they do not like to be scratched or fliped over like macaws. but they do love to kiss and cuddle.

hmm it depends on the gender and age.
most ppl like the male bcuz its green and pretty i guess. some like the female cuz its red and blue.a parrot that can talk might cost more than one that doesnt but that also means its older and most ppl want younger one. it all depends on the person. but if i had to give you a price range i would say from $896-$1000. now $1000 is a bit pricy.if its for just the parrot alone. so try look around for something cheeper.

but the quality of the bird alone is what matters most.
