LoTRO without a doubt. The classes are far beyond the "Click and mash buttons" of WoW, as well as the unique locations that are brought to life from a much beloved book world.
The Graphics (Especially on max) in some areas are so aesthetically pleasing that I put my character on walk just admire the artistry that went into creating every hobbit hole, Every fallen leaf in Rivendell.... WoW is puffed up with a lot of bombast that is lost on its cartoon graphics.
And i don't really believe that you put the WoW graphics on max, i played with max and it was ALOT more detailed, and lot more object shown at longer distance, and the long distance environment was much more detailed aswell (:
I think the gameplay is better in WoW, but blizz fucked WoW up. sure maybe LOTRO have better graphics, but that's not anything near the most important thing for a game to be great. LOtRO is a story based game, with bad PvP (monster play) that's available at higher levels. WoW has a story but all you do is random quests and dungeons, but PvP is excellent. What I'm trying to say is that WoW and LOtRO are different games, and it doesn't matters who has better graphics - yes, LOtRO's are more real, while WoW is cartoonish. Anyway...

Not really a comparison here since WOW has been basically using the same graphical Engine since 2005 with each Expansion adding effects filters ect..where as LOTRO is never with full DX10 and 11 Support

I've always felt that the graphics in WoW (and yes I've always complained) were bad. But honestly, it has the most fluid, and comfortable graphics/UI in MMORPG gaming of all time. I've played RIFT, which you could argue has the best today, but still I find myself squinting and just overall not being comfortable with it, not to mention the gameplay is not all that.
wow and lotro cant be compared cuz they have different altitudes. lotro is supposed to give you a world made the beatiest with amazing views. wow is supposed to give a more comic book view that has great fighting and crafting but lacks more on the pretty views that lotro sometimes has. as i said: 'not comparable'.

Well I dunno. You showed LOTRO without even moving? You raised the graphics but didn't move in to show the water close, moving foliage, or even the detailed character models. It looked to me like your rig was pretty underpowered and you were getting low FPS on LOTRO so you didn't move on purpose. On WoW you moved, panned around the character model etc. Completely apples to oranges comparision from this video, imo.

WoW Graphics are more accessible, someone with a kinda "wood pc" can play WoW with almost everything on max, while on Lotro you can't do that...
The only thing im failing on Lotro is the CPU, the rest is fine for the game, but i still usually get low frame rates, especially in crowded areas.

wow and lotro cant be compared cuz they have different altitudes. lotro is supposed to give you a world made the beatiest with amazing views. wow is supposed to give a more comic book view that has great fighting and crafting but lacks more on the pretty views that lotro sometimes has. as i said: 'not comparable'.

@AlbertoDeSagitario WoW is MEANT to look like Lego - that is Blizzard's design philosophy - imaginative art vs. realism that is sterile.
Warcraft III was the same - made in an age where it could have been prettier - but ended up looking better anyway because of the impressionistic way in which it made the environment interesting, with exaggerated trees, terrain and characters.

@LazarusRemains Yes, good point indeed...Lotro seems a bit more detailed tho, but in my case I go for realism graphics more than WoW style...but it depends on everyone likeness so thats pretty nice.

Well I dunno. You showed LOTRO without even moving? You raised the graphics but didn't move in to show the water close, moving foliage, or even the detailed character models. It looked to me like your rig was pretty underpowered and you were getting low FPS on LOTRO so you didn't move on purpose. On WoW you moved, panned around the character model etc. Completely apples to oranges comparision from this video, imo.

Lol, these stupid WoW fanboys say that LOTRO copy WoW. What? J.R.R. Tolkien is the father of modern fantasy literature. Great games like D&D, Everquest, Ultima, The Elder Scrolls series, etc., derive in many ways to the world of Tolkien. Obviously, the kids at WoW in their short existence think that such things as orcs, goblins, elves, wizards started with WoW.

@razzercek more challenge???? at lvl 28 in lotro it takes more than 311,000xp to get to 29, and at lvl 63 in wow it takes 328,000xp for 64..... now which one is more challenging?????

@97desertstorm hate to tell you nate but if you think that graphics is everything then you need to go back and play oddworld and the orig rayman, its about the gameplay not graphics, second, Wow is suppose to be that quality of graphics so it can run with thousands of player online also its really impressive for a 2004 mmorpg, both games are fun and challenging in there own ways, pick which game you like or gtfo

@splicersunite nah graphics arent everything, example rift...... and rayman was eh ok. not a fan of it... i grew up playing starwars battlefront 1-2...... i like both of them. lotro has uber lvling challenge but wow not so hard. and there are too many op classes in wow......but wow is fun but lotro has alot of challenge but thats why i had more fun playing wow because not so much challenge haha, even though i love challenge when it comes to halo haha

@97desertstorm when your lvl'ing and you have total gear differences in 10-14 brackets like some people have boas others dont, i'de rather play a game that is'nt based on lvl grinding and thats kinda what lotro is, wow kinda is but alot more easier to hit 85, around 85 classess get alot more even, only reason people whine is cause they dont know how to play there class....but yeah battlefront ftw ^.^

@razzercek doesnt matter how many lvls it matters how much time it can take.... how much xp it takes.... and lotro pvp is alot harder then wow. wow has too many op classes and stun shit will win the fight in wow. in lotro if u get stunned in a battle u accually have enough health to save you and they cant stun you or fear you more than once. so yea dude get over it

And about raiding, in Lotr you just kite boss sometimes. In WoW you have many other stuff to do. Even if you are DPS. Not just stand in one place and do dps... So dont talk about WoW if you havent pass lvl 20 ... And in lotr is so much grinding to lvl up.. WoW has more interesting lvling system.
