@mukwah1111 I noticed canned milk already has a darker color than fresh milk and it does make darker soap. Not sure if the freezer has anything to do with it?
I have been making goat milk soap for 10 +years and it is really hard to keep it from scorching. I takes me 15 minutes or more to pour the lye into the milk sluch which is in an ice bath. I have seen it turn orange which means it is burnt. Yours looks great and I bet the bars are fantastic :) Many may argue this but, I don't think using canned or the powdered is giving the soap all the wonderful properties of fresh. It has been altered. True goat milk soap is made with fresh from the goat milk
@ccartdesigns to get your soaps to go through a gel phase you'll want to insulate them. Use a mold with a lid if you have one... or just put the whole mold into a cardboard box, close the lid and throw some towels over it. Alternatively you can preheat your oven to warm setting or 170 or the lowest it will go, turn it off then let the soap do it's thing in there with the warm air.
Thanks for posting these excellent tutorials! I made a sage and rosemary goats-milk soap just before thanksgiving. First time ever. I was worried that I went overboard with keeping the milk/lye cool (I started with the milk frozen solid and mixed in the lye using an ice bath). The solution never got above 80 F. Threw the batch in the freezer, then the fridge. It stayed so light that I was worried that my temps were too cold, but everything worked out! The milk soap is my all-time favorite.
Thanks for sharing another tutorial. I have been learning a tremendous amount from watching your videos. I'm looking forward to my purchase from you. I ordered late last night and already got a message that it has been shipped. Thanks for the quick processing.
I've been online some of the day trying to find a reliable link for a goats or any milk soap. Thank you so much! Great vids btw and keep em coming :) they help a lot.
Hi Bonnie I have canned Goats Milk in the freezer right now in a baggie & its orange coloured from being frozen. That wont affect the soap will it ?

@Mrssoappeddler I tend to agree with you. There is nothing like a fresh milk soap. Raw milk is best.

I have had luck with milk soaps by doing the water milk split method, but then you don't have as much milk. I used canned concentrated goats milk.

How do you think olive would do in place of the soy? We are a soy free house so an alternative would be great. Thanks for posting these great videos!

@tashaislovnit You can do it this way for either cow or goat milk. In this video I am using cow's.
