@dodge69874 i drove a 96 STV Cobra for 6 years it was lots of fun. i did stuff like this all the time but tires are $250 each so it gets expensive after a while.

@Khadgare Well, you could buy used tires to do this stuff. I bought a couple of Michelin Pilot Sport 285/35ZR18's for my Crown Vic for $40 a piece with plenty of thread left. Just try criagslists. Then, your local garage will mount them for like $15.

Wheel hop is when the rear end of the car starts to bounce when you are spinning, it is easy to break the gears when this happens.

The car is pretty much stock.  Mods include K&N airfilter, Borla cat back exhaust, 2.8 pulley for the supercharger, SCT tuner

If you can afford an 03 Cobra Tires and drivetrain aren't really an issue. Most every Cobra I've seen is not even close to stock.

What really kills the drivetrain on the Cobra is wheel hop. The car has factory independent rear suspension so it hops easily when you are spinning. Most guys blow out their rear diff when wheel hop occurs. The drivetrain on the Cobra is really tough.
