  • Nice to see and think about how these geometries can morph. Thanks

  • Oops! I had forgotten the dot com at the end of my email address

  • I have prepared a file about the geometry in your "Accidental Beauty" video. Please email me at: uncledan@homespun4homeschoolers so I can email the file to you.

  • As well as stellations I think you've got some duals of semiregular star polyhedra.

  • Nice ....

Reminds of the work Garrett Lisi is doing in physics at the moment with modelling atomic structures, using sacred geometry and the 'E8' shape....

Funny you mention about games..... Im a sound designer for a games developer...... and I like the state of grace name...... yes, even before you said it :)

  • you, my friend, have created a few of the 59 stellations of the icosahedron

  • Oh, I knew there must have been a proper name for them! Thanks so much!

  • also, i think you will be happy to know that your design generalizes to n dimensions (and not just 3, as in your presentation.)

needless to say, the computer graphics involved in presenting even 4 dimensional objects is quite complicated.

  • Oh, thank you for your comments! Trying to think in 4 dimensions causes me physical pain, so I think I'll skip trying to visualize that. ;-)

  • my mathematical concentration has nothing to do with your graphical design, but i can confirm that you are not the first to consider this shape =)

on the other hand, if you want to learn more, you can study the following mathematical fields:

group theory, finite geometry, n-dimensional generalizations in algebraic geometry (and it is in this setting that group theory enters via the idea of symmetry groups of euclidean spaces).

  • hu did that?

  • Who did that? I did! :-)

  • this video is very nice I would like to work with the person that made it.

  • Oh thank you! I'll send you a private message.

  • very interesting. I suppose you could use it for a video logo, or a loop.

  • nothing is accidental, that is not the way the universe is.everything is semetric, not even!! chaos!! everything is GOD and nobody knows him

    greetings from holland

  • great video what program did you use

  • wow!

  • That's really cool.

It'd be cool to loop some of the shapes and use them as stars on a backdrop. Would that be ok?

  • Sure, as long as you say where it came from if you distribute it. I could send you a higher quality version of the video if you like.

  • Definitely. it's just an idea right now to add to a little animation I have sitting on the comp.

    Thanks:)

  • Awesomeness bursting out all over! Ooh, do some more, Mr Geekiness, please?

  • very cool : )

  • Very nice!

  • bach-wonderful! i'm wondering if you're really a rocket-scientist? lol

  • i suggest you re-title this video to Colversonian Imploded Solids of Awesomeness. at very least, put it in the tags lol

  • Yeah, good point. I wouldn't want it to be too difficult to find when I become super-famous!

  • also, for a long time, i will have to keep referring back to this vidoe to know their Proper name.

  • Beautiful to watch with the music. Would have been geeky if you had left the commentary on. I don't understand the geek stuff at the bottom so nevr read it. How about changing its colours? just asking lol.

  • Dang, wish I'd thought of that. :-)

  • nice mood and visuals, jon... enjoyed that!

  • Dodecahedrons are one of my favorite shapes:) Thank you for shouting them out:)
