Are Topies a type of Hartebeest. There is no much diiference in terms of stature between a Common Hartebeest and a Topi. Well, apart from the marking of cause.
I never have found these safari videos interesting, I subscribed for the astrosciences and geoscience. If I want to learn about the animals, I'd watch some Nature/Nova stuff.
@nottinghamscience I definitely could just not watch them, as most people are told to do when they add a negative comment. Though I appreciate all branches of science, I just don't feel your effort for making these videos is worthwhile to me and I was more or less making the comment to see if any shares my sentiment. I feel that biology has gotten more exposure on television and there has not been enough chemistry and spaces sciences, so I subscribed for the later.
@jnthnbush oh don't worry about my effort... If I decided how to spend my time based on YouTube comments, I probably would just roll up in a ball and start crying! ha ha!
You can't please everyone all the time... But I hope this channel OCCASIONALLY has something for everyone.
Appreciate that you took your time to comment though. For what it's worth, I agree certain areas of biology (especially wildlife) get a better mainstream TV deal than some other areas of science.
@nottinghamscience Hey, I know you can't, I work a television station people complain that we don't air the shows for everyone at their most convenient time. And by the way, you all suck for making Eastenders, our viewer are addicted and we can't even preempt the show for funding drives. Since we are the only station in the region people go apeshit when the show goes wrong. In a way you are the outlet that airs my "Eastenders".
@jnthnbush There r plenty of documentaries of astrophysics and geology out there, some science tv channels r even specifically tailored for these types.I am fascinated by all these and at least watch one documentary on any subject a day but there r never a biological documentary that has illustrated an animal as detailed as this.Mainstream tv inform the pretty much completely ignorant crowd with the surface of science and this clearly does more.If u can't see that, that only means you r one of it

@jnthnbush we only post them on Sundays and they're pretty clearly labelled as Safari Sunday - just don't watch them!?
@nottinghamscience is a broad channel covering all sciences, plus behind-the-scenes material from @sixtysymbols and @periodicvideos
It's more of a lucky dip, I guess.
The main idea is to give people a feel for what happens across all disciplines and occasionally go behind the scenes a bit more.
Always sorry to disappoint, but hope this clarifies things a bit?
