So in the photo at the beginning, is that just it's severed head? If so, did you feel it needed to die? Although they are dangerous if bitten, it seems you had plenty of time to get away from it, and therefore no need to kill it. Oh well.

@Irelandrbi severed head? That's a paint dot besides it's nest/burrow. That's one of the things we were doing out there. The same snake that is crawling away is the same snake from the photo. I have no idea what would make you think it's head was severed or that we killed it.
