  • one of the truly great action adventure film of all time....good screenplay from a good novel.-fun- fun- fun.

  • I'm watching this again just for the music. Don't know much about who played what, but in the scene when Pencroft was asking if he (capt. harding was offering parole) was Capt. Harding's answer "That's so rebel !or "not so rebel!" can't tell which.

  • Whatever happened to Sgt. Pencroft as an actor I mean. He played his part well.

  • Questions for those who watched this and read the book... Did it bug you that Pencroft wasn't a POW like the others? Seems like it would affect their camaraderie. Also, how then does Herbert fit in?

  • @lioncage54 Never really enters my mind when ever I watch this movie. One of my all-time favorites!!

  • Benard Herman's music was the hallmark of any adventure movie theme. Pure genius he totally captured this movie.

  • @cellofingers I strongly agree with you, I was about 5 or 6 when I saw this movie in the early 60's, bernard Hermann's soundtrack really left a Big impression on Me, I still get goosebumps hearing it.

  • Great video of one of my best movies of when I was a kid. Thanks for putting this on.

  • @cellofingers This is one of the few Harryhausen movies were I wasn' t just being patient waiting for the next monster to show up . Yeah yeah yeah Sinbad likes the girl etc. when's the next monster going to show .

  • God Bernard Herrmann's music 3:11 one of his greatest scores no composer in H-wood today touches him

  • Damn straight.

  • Jules Verne had the biggest and most incredible imagination of any writer before or since, a true literary genius.

  • Except for maybe William Shakespear....another incredible writer....

  • he was talking about imagination. Jules Verne's work required alot more imagination then what Shakespeare did

  • Agreed SkyLur44! Reading Verne when I was a kid, all I wanted to do was become a scientist. Why the %&*(#(*&! did I go into title work instead?!
