@pwalpar Actually, Once at night i saw the full moon outside my window, and i looked at it as hard and still as i can, and then i saw it moving very slowly.
I have this camera too! I bought it before my trip to France in June of 08, and while we were in Paris at the Arc de Triomphe I was able to zoom in on the moon, and the quality was amazing! (I had it on the highest setting ("ultrafine", I believe)).
Thanks man for showing this video!! I just purchased this camera online for a looong overdue family reunion. Wanted to get ideals of how this camera works. Shows beautiful the moon which is good to know! LOL Take care!
I thought that a sun view would damage the CCD. May want to look into that.
@pwalpar: Did you use a tripod or was that image stabilization? Also, how high did you have the digital zoom set? I understand that JVC uses a Dynamic zoom program with minimal loss of resolution. Very impressive over older camcorders.
I have an old Panasonic PV-gs35 that's not compatible with Windows 7 anymore. So I won't buy a Panasonic. (I wonder how much they payed Bill Gates for that?)
Most of the time I had the zoom set to maxumum setting. and I almost always use a tripod. I just started using windows 7 and so far am not very impressed, LOL Thanks for watching and commenting
Its not an illusion, remember the camera is zoomed in to a very small area of the sky, and you have to constantly move the camera to keep it in the viewer, Its moves pretty quick
Normally I would suggest but the best you can possably afford, this typle of media is the way of the future, you wont be satisfied with anything cheap. But skate boarding sounds like a broke camera in a hurry LOL
I certainly like the camera. Please watch my latest video that I uploaded today. Its call JVC GZ Mg630 Specs. Maybe it will answer your question Thanks for watching
This is great...of the moon, of the camera! I am an amateur astronomer so of course I love the video! I just ordered the Everio, and I can't wait to get it! Thanks for the zoom demo!
I have the camera set to ultra fine on the video settings, and I edit and upload my videos with windows movie maker, and when I save the movie file I dont use the setting that says best quality for my computer, instead I scroll down to other settings and save my videos as High Quality Video (NTSC). Other than those two thing I dont do anything special. They dont always come out great thought. it has a lot to do with good lighting when you film something. Good luck with the camera
Considering that I was looking thru hi altitude clouds when I made this they were very clear. Dont exoect too much from any digital camera when it comes to photographing in low light conditions. They all are poor in the dark.
Good luck with your camera, if you dont have a tri pod and intend to do much video work consider getting one. Im no expert at it but if you get in a jam I will try to advise you on it.
cool you can see the moon actually moving
