  • I am sick of this new type of energy efficient washing machine. It is not energy efficient because you can only put a small load in it to keep it from bouncing and banging all over

your laundry room. I am never buying an expensive Maytag washing machine again it is "crap." When the guy from Lowes set it up he said, "You might not like this kind without

a tumbler in the middle because they NEVER stay balanced."

  • I Still get comments on this with other people having problems. Yes, I still have troubles too! The washer is loud and still moves. It has basically been rebuilt when it was repaired. I just think they don't have the weight the old ones did that were built good. It's obvious though that I am not the only one with this trouble.

  • I got this washing mashine this past july and all of a sudden mine is walking all over as well. I havent called a repair man because yet and maybe it will be a waste of my time and money! I thought that maybe something is causing the drum to be off center or something? idk what to do about it though : /

  • The only top loading new washer brands that I know of that handle any type of unbalanced loads better than others are G.E. and Fisher-Paykel. They are soooo much better with the balance, shake, rattle & roll washer problem!

  • @closedforlunch

The problem is basically every load can't be unbalanced. This happens consistently

  • mine does the same thing. total POS.

  • I must say I have the exact same Maytag Centennial washer and dryer and it works wonderful. I hope you have warranty.

  • did you trouble shoot it

stop it n make sure the load was balanced if it was then it could be the skid plate of off of the base frame so check that

  • It seems like the shipping pins weren't removed.

What brand was your old washer?

  • @captain150

    The pins were removed

  • We've had another repair person out since this problem and it is much better but still not as good as the old washer.

  • Today's machines don't have the weight in the bottom that their ancestors do. BTW, be glad your Maytag is made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool makes mediocre products too, but better than the total junk Maytag did after 1998. I hope this helps you because I had a 1992 Kenmore that did the same thing after a while. It was on a cement floor. A really good scrubbing got it staying put again.

  • Another quialty whirlpool product.
