Scotty's "jesus" is also DEAD. Scotty speaks about his "jesus" in the past tense. So by Scotty's own false teaching, he follows a dead man. No eternal life for Scotty with that view.
I love how people here are getting their panties (boxers? briefs?) in a twist over issues of a political nature, i.e. abortion, gay marriage, terrorism, etc. Watch the video again. Where, pray tell, does Bzel bring up any of that? Nowhere. He is critiquing Mr. McLennan with regard to liberal *Christianity* (i.e. Jesus was a good moral teacher, many paths to God, etc.), not liberal *politics*. That is a completely different ball game right there. Calm down, people. Take a hot bath or something.
I saw a a bumper sticker that said "Jesus is a Liberal," and literally almost threw up. Jesus does not believe in killing defenseless babies in the womb, homosexuals doing impure sexual acts that are not natural, and he would never allow evil terrorists back into a country that they want to blow up and kill as many people as possible.
And @Jakepod34, what would your throwing up prove or accomplish?
If Jesus had any problems with homosexuality and/or abortion, why don't you suppose he "threw up", or at least uttered a peep about them? They weren't invented last week you know!
Instead of assuming you know what Jesus thought and even assuming you know what people mean when they say he was a liberal, why don't you Google "Liberals Like Christ" and SEE how misinformed your conservative leaders have kept you? Rev. Ray Dubuque
@Rayosun4 If Liberals 'like' Christ, how can they support the federal funding of the destruction of a human embryo or a baby until the third trimester? The baby has a heartbeat by then, and it is murder in the eyes of Christians. True Christians do not support this atrocity. By the way, I am a moderate Republican who is FISCALLY conservative and do not support morons like Rush would are not conservatives, they are radicals.
Before questioning Rev. McClennan's reasoning, maybe you should make sure that your own is defensible.
If Jesus was God, and God is omniscient, how do you account for Jesus being unable to count how many days and nights he would be in the grave? Fri & Sat nights and Saturday are 1 day and 2 nights, not 3 days and 3 nights, as he promised.
@Rayosun4 I meant to respond to you and got sidetracked, sorry. There are even better examples of Jesus not knowing something, such as Matt 24:26 - “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only". As a man Jesus got hungry and tired, he prayed and worshiped his father in heaven. These things Jesus did according to his human nature. Do you suppose that Jesus did not know how to count? Of course not. Con't.
@bzel333 The answer to your question is simple. According to Jewish custom any part of a day, however small, is included as part of a full day. Three days and three nights was just another way of saying three days. Do you have a problem with the deity of Jesus, the Christ?
The "social justice" (Marxist, in reality) gospel is just as nefarious, if not worse. Jim Wallis (correct spelling) is a leading advocate of this heresy.
This is a great video ministry you have here. I've been watching for years. It's hard to know what God is doing when you see this type of distortion everywhere; Jesus wasn't kidding when he said that deception would be high before his coming. Thank you for continuing to education the Church on the dangers of all of this new-ageism. God Bless & take care, brother.
Jesus was not a political liberal nor was his theology liberal, but his radical views of equality and morals was very liberal during that era. Unfortunately Christians often focus on Jesus's politically conservative side and not his liberal views on love. Jesus would be hanging out with the gays; not preaching about them all the time. He was more interested in changing people's hearts than changing outward practices that were evil.
" but the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."?
Christians accept all sinners who repent and believe ... but you can't engage in flagrant sin such as homosexuality and claim that you're a-ok.
@RuinSonic Excuse me, have you ever read the Bible? I mean the Holy Bible (the 66 books of canon), not some sort of emergent church hogwash like what Rick Warren puts out, or "the Message". There was and is nothing liberal about the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ, however what American Conservatives teach about Christianity ain't right either. It's closer, but both of you (liberals and conservatives) are trying to use the church for political gain, and some of us are aware of it.
@Doulos7608 "Excuse me, have you ever read the Bible?"
Yes.
"There was and is nothing liberal about the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ...are trying to use the church for political gain"
Please reread what I said in context. I am not saying Jesus is liberal theologically or liberal politically. Also I am not trying to use the church for any gain as I am not even a Christian. I feel qualified to talk about it though because I was one for most of my life and actually cared about my beliefs.
@RuinSonic I did not accuse you personally of trying to use the church, what I said is that some of us are aware that both liberals and consevatives try to use the church for political gain. As for you having been a Christian, I say to you that you are either mistaken or you are lying. If you had been, you would never have left. You were never one of us.
@Doulos7608 "I say to you that you are either mistaken or you are lying."
Why do I care what your opinion is about my authenticity? I don't think I was ever a Christian because Christianity is not true. You don't have to be another asshole about it though. I'm not going to call you deluded just because I disagree with you.
@Doulos7608 Look I don't want to be hostile, but I get a lot of these kinds of comments from Christian trolls who aren't interested in being Christ like. You can believe what you want about me but if your going to make a claim about me personally just based on your beliefs i'm not going to be nice about it.

@RuinSonic And no I'm not saying homosexuality is evil. My point still stands regardless of what position I hold.

Do you mean the Jesus who said, and I quote:
" but the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."?
